Transcript
All right,
Welcome to the first part of the three part series preparing for 2022.
I'm super excited to kind of be sharing this conversation.
I'm going to allow the conversation to flow as always as it needs to,
To share and talk about whatever is coming up for all of you.
So please,
I invite you all to be active within the comments,
To be sharing,
And I can respond as much as possible.
If you've never been on one of my lives,
I use the whiteboard.
I love to have the whiteboard to share notes,
So I will get up and I will probably stand over there for the majority of the talk today.
And we'll be able to share from there and I will come forward to look at comments as much as possible.
But we're going to be talking about 2022.
It is the end of 2021.
We don't want to throw 2021 out the door.
We want to take this past year and use it as a springboard into the next year.
This is a chance for a new beginning to not erase what happened in the past,
But to take what happened in the past and to move forward from it.
Because if we live too much in the past,
We're going to get stuck there and then we're never going to be able to move forward because we are constantly and always evolving and growing and desiring more and wanting more.
That is manifestation.
And that is what Abraham Hicks will constantly say,
If you feel satisfied,
That's great,
But you should always be desiring more.
And we will get contrasting situations that will cause us to desire more.
And that is a part of life.
That is a part of our life experience.
So that's where we're going to be diving in today,
Taking a look at 2022 and saying,
How can we take 2022 and walk into this new year with a renewed sense of inspiration and motivation and excitement,
But also not coming in too high.
And what I mean by that is setting our expectations to be more than we can actually handle.
A year is 365 days.
It is 12 months.
We cannot set these goals and expect ourselves to be there on day one,
On day 30 at the end of January,
When people start to drop off of,
You know,
We're going to talk a little bit about resolutions,
Where we're going to talk more about habits and creating habits that will get us to the goals that we want and being intentional with our lives.
So this isn't about creating a big goal and then creating your little steps underneath it.
No,
This is being who you are and really taking the focus of 2022 away from the external things that you're desiring and bring them into the internal.
So that's where we're going to be diving in today.
As I get started,
I'm going to reset myself up to get to the board.
I'm going to read,
Adjust the camera,
But as I am doing so,
Please put in the comments to help drive the very beginning part of this conversation and share with us what brought you to this conversation today.
What drove you to be here and what are you most looking forward to getting out?
So you can answer one or any of all of those questions,
But really helping me to kind of see where you all are and to help guide the conversation in a way that brings more value to you.
I'm more than happy to sit up here and talk.
I'm actually not happy to do that,
But I'm happy to do that in a way of where I'm serving and I'm serving you.
So that is where I am coming from.
I want to make sure I'm serving you and meeting you where you are at so that we can really have this conversation flow and we can be co-creators.
You came here for a reason.
I came here for a reason and we came here together to co-create something really beautiful and that's what's going to come out of this conversation.
All right.
So please put them in the comments.
I will give you all a few moments to do so and then we will move forward from there.
And I'm going to take a big deep breath.
I will also share for anyone who is new.
I like I said,
I live in Pennsylvania.
My husband and I have moved here together a long time ago.
A long time ago.
We have two young children.
One will be nine next week,
Which is really exciting.
We have a six year old.
They are amazing children.
If you've been on our lives,
You've seen them pop in.
One you've probably seen the other one.
You probably just heard a knock on the door.
It needed something.
I was asking permission to do something.
So,
So that's where I'm coming from.
And a lot of what I will teach and share comes from things that I have read.
I have learned,
But most often from things that I have experienced myself and what I have learned for myself.
And then I move forward and share that with all of you.
So let's see what is happening over in the comments.
So Katrina,
I'm working really hard on bringing intentionality into what I want in the future and where I want to grow.
So beautiful.
And I love talking about intention.
So we will definitely ensure that we are sharing that.
Reanne,
I apologize if I said your name incorrectly.
I'm working on becoming confident and intuitive,
But also setting healthy boundaries.
Really beautiful.
How to co-create my future with universal energy and internal peace.
Wow.
That is an amazing,
Amazing statement.
I'm an autistic childhood survivor who is looking to develop a balanced life because I am multiply multiply.
I hope,
Sorry,
But you're that word,
Sandra disabled.
Beautiful balance is.
Balance is a seesaw.
Balance floats back and forth.
So we will talk about that as well.
Christine looking for a new path,
Worked as an adjunct professor and wanting to know what to teach next.
So going into a new phase of life.
I've had the most challenging 18 months.
I'm looking for a fresh start opening up a new chapter in my life at 58.
My partner of 17 years almost died.
She survived,
But we are now separated.
Oh,
I got chills to our reading that looking to carve out a new path for myself,
Finding joy again.
And summer star,
I want guidance on more.
She gave me a little comment that I didn't want to read it first,
But I'm going to read it anyway,
Because we should be proud of ourselves.
I'm here because I love your inspired talks.
Thank you so much.
I want guidance on more organizational skills for at home,
Keeping up with bills.
I work for home.
So having to keep my nest more organized,
Also releasing worry and doubt about my relationship,
Continuing to work on finding balance while continuing to explore on new ventures.
So what I'm seeing a lot of in the comments is new starts,
New beginnings,
New chapters.
And I love that so much.
I have started many a new chapters in my life,
And it's a really beautiful place to be.
Sometimes we have to hit our,
I'm going to use air quotes,
Our rock bottom and everybody's rock bottom is different.
And essentially your rock bottom is the thing that gets you to say,
I'm done and I need to do something different.
So everybody's situation is different.
Everybody's rock bottom is a little different.
And every situation has a different bottom,
Which then allows you,
It's almost like a trampoline.
It's it's we use the phrase rock bottom,
But I like to think about it more as a trampoline.
So you're hitting that trampoline.
Maybe you're going down a little bit,
But what it's going to do is it's going to springboard you up even higher than where you were.
And if you think about it in terms of manifestation,
It's that contrasting experience that I just talked about,
We had this car accident,
It was rattling.
It was unnerving.
It was why did this happen to me?
What are we going to do now?
Where is this going to come from?
How are we going to get a new car?
The,
You know,
All of these things that make me want to go into the victim mind frame.
And also a lot of guilt came with it because my children were in the car.
So it's these contrasting experiences that we can,
We'll bounce back from.
And that's a part of life.
Contrasting experiences are a part of life.
So all of you who are talking about,
I'm starting a new chapter.
This thing almost happened.
My partner almost died.
And now we're separated.
And I'm looking to start a new beginning.
And what comes next?
And what am I going to teach next now that I'm done doing this?
Those are really beautiful experiences.
Even if it doesn't feel like it in the moment,
I want to tell you and I hope you are listening that this is a chance for you to,
To grow,
To move forward and to say,
This is my chance to become better.
And this is a part of life and where I'm meant to be.
Oh,
Thank you.
Complimented my hair.
Near term completing Kips claim your power.
That's awesome,
Dave.
I actually just had another client of mine say that she went through the book and got to a point where she finished the book and was like,
Wow,
This really drove me forward.
But now I'm feeling stuck.
What's,
How do I move forward from that?
And I felt that as well after I completed Mastin Kips claim your power,
It's a really powerful book.
You do a lot of really hard work.
And then I feel like you kind of have to go internal and go,
Now I have to use the work that I just,
I just worked.
Look at that.
Katrina is doing it too.
I love it.
I've talked about that book.
I'm glad it was a really instrumental book in my life.
We have working to have less and be more awesome.
All right,
So let's jump into this conversation.
Let's start.
Let me I said I was going to set myself up,
But I didn't.
I sat here and chatted with you all because I liked you all so much.
Okay,
If there's any issues with the screen or the sound,
Please put it in the comment and I will,
We should start.
I wish I would have known this,
But what a cool experience of doing like a book club with the Mastin Kids Claim Your Power.
That's kind of neat.
Anyway,
Maybe maybe another time,
Another day.
So let's chat about the new year and new beginnings.
So I want to first talk about new beginnings.
We have new beginnings.
We have new beginnings every day.
Every day is a new beginning.
Every moment is a new beginning.
My gosh,
Am I going to spell that wrong?
Does that have two ends?
Oh goodness.
If I spelled that wrong,
I apologize.
I love it.
Oh,
Thank you for putting the name of the book in there.
So for anyone who's listening to the recording,
It's Mastin Kip,
K-I-P-P,
And it's called Claim Your Power.
So we have new beginnings,
But from every new beginning,
We have a past from where that came from.
So life,
Life is a circle.
Life is cyclical all the time.
So we have this circle.
So wait,
That's too big because now I'm losing space.
I want to say life is not linear.
Life is linear.
We're always moving forward,
But life is both cyclical in nature and linear.
So we have our timeline,
Right?
You have your timeline.
Here's all your pieces.
You have where you were,
And you're now here.
So you're at the end of this timeline,
And we're saying,
Here's the end of 2021.
What does 2022 look like?
And we start anticipating this future life.
So we have everything that happened back here in the past,
And we cannot discount all that happened in our past because what we have experienced in our past is what brought us to all of those desires.
So our past experiences,
And we will go back to the cyclical piece of that.
Our past,
I'm trying to write this as concisely as possible on the board.
Our past is what creates our desires.
So everything we experienced,
And I'm going to put past experiences.
So our past experiences help to create our desires.
We can't have our desires without the past experiences that we've had.
So all of those of you on this live that we're talking about new beginnings and going from one chapter to another chapter and having all of these experiences where,
When I keep going back to this,
I apologize,
I can't recall your name,
Believe your name was Chandra.
We talked about your partner almost dying.
And then now that you're separated,
So you've got this past experience.
And what it's doing is it's causing a lot of contrast.
And it's causing like a lot of turmoil,
Like a tornado.
And you're like,
What is happening?
What is going on?
But what it's also doing at the same time is it's causing you to reevaluate and say,
Okay,
This was my past experience.
It was really beautiful.
It was really wonderful.
What is this causing me to now look forward towards?
And what I want to spend some time on is creating these desires.
So we're going to take our past experiences.
And what do we typically want to do?
You can tell me you don't agree with me.
Do you look at your past?
And somebody even said,
Erasing or not,
I know you didn't use the word erasing,
But childhood trauma,
Childhood shadows,
Right?
We have all of these things that have happened in our lives.
And when we look back at them,
We think that was so awful.
I can't believe that happened to me.
And,
Or we have resentment or guilt,
All of these emotions that were like,
We don't want to feel those emotions.
So what do we do?
Those emotions cause us to want to do something different.
They're creating desires.
And when we can look at those past experiences and we can say,
Wow,
That wasn't fun.
I didn't really enjoy that.
But what did that allow me to then move forward and do?
And the best way to do this,
Because,
Because you can't see your future right now,
Because you don't know where your future is.
And we want to know,
We can't,
We cannot say,
This is what my future will look like.
We can set goals,
We can create visions.
But and we will get there,
Right?
That's manifestation,
Creating your reality.
But if you think that you can manipulate the how and the when,
Of when your desires appear,
I'm sorry to break this to you,
But you can't.
Your job is not to create the how and the when.
Your job is to create the desire,
And to create the vision,
And to follow the joy.
That's what your job is.
So when we talk about setting goals,
Which,
Awesome,
I set manifestations every month,
I talk about things that I can and cannot do,
To make them come to reality.
But I don't put a whole lot of weight on the task.
I don't beat myself up if I did or did not do it.
Now I used to,
Sometimes I still do.
But more often than not,
I look at it and say,
This worked,
This didn't work,
What can I maybe do differently?
Or who was I not being?
And we are focusing a lot on the beat right now.
I'm going to come up and just look at the comments.
So let me see.
I'm starting over in so many ways with uncertainty comes fear,
But trying to embrace the excitement of the unknown.
Okay,
So Sunita says she cannot see the board.
So if you cannot see the board,
Please let me know.
Oh,
Dave,
You're so sweet.
I forgot how much I missed this way forward.
If you need me to do anything differently,
Please let me know.
I will try to squeeze it up a little bit more.
Love it.
So we're laughing at the whiteboard comment really quickly.
So we need these desires.
So number one thing,
If you're stuck in a situation where you're starting over,
I want you to go backwards for a moment and think about past experiences.
And I've shared this exercise before,
Think about past experiences.
Something really long,
Something that's really easy,
Really light.
And then think about what it taught you.
Where it brought you the positive aspect that came out of that situation.
And if you want to share it in the comments,
Awesome and fantastic to you to help other people kind of see where you're at.
So what past experience that was a challenging past experience,
Something that kind of rattled you and turned your world upside down.
Take that past experience and think about what did I gain from that experience?
And can you find gratitude in that challenging experience?
And again,
If you feel comfortable,
You're more than welcome to put it in the comments because when you do so,
You will help others kind of realize it.
Because a lot of times we can kind of get stuck in our heads.
So for me,
A really challenging past experience for me is when I was working full time and I was really struggling big time about what's next.
I knew I no longer wanted to be doing what I was doing,
But it was hard.
I was being challenged in so many ways from the people I was surrounded by,
The people that I worked with.
I was crying.
I was frustrated.
I was lonely.
I was angry.
I was feeling so many things.
And what was coming out of that was,
I don't know what to do,
But I can't feel like this anymore.
That was the really big thing.
And when I think back to that time in my life,
Which was,
You know,
Really 2017,
2018,
Most of 2017,
To be honest with you.
And in 2018 was when I actually started the new year.
I was like,
I need to do something different.
I can't do this anymore.
And then spent another six months.
I made a commitment to make a change and then spent another six months.
So rattled and so challenged,
But I never gave up.
And what happened was in that moment,
I was,
And I hate using the word torn down,
But I was torn down by other people and I was hurt.
And there was a lot of healing that happened in the moment,
But also has continued to happen in the years after all of that,
Of being told that my emotions were invalid and that how I was feeling and what I was feeling wasn't validated.
And it really,
Really hurt.
But what came out of that was I ended up quitting my job,
Which was really challenging.
We went into some financial distress for the next year after I made that decision.
But at the same time,
I made this really challenging decision.
And what that decision did is it catapulted me into doing what I can do now.
That isn't,
This isn't how it started in 2018,
But it catapulted me into saying,
Oh my gosh,
What,
Who do I want to be?
I got so far behind and so lost of who I am that I had to rediscover who I was.
And that challenging moment,
That challenging time in my life allowed me to go forward and create and to do more and to be more inspired and to try new things that I probably wouldn't have tried had I stayed where I was.
So there's one example.
My health,
The burnout from work taught me I need more balance with my family and time away.
Katrina is sharing that she was essentially forced to leave a job as a principal and leave a beautiful community.
It was heart wrenching,
But now I know my time there was done.
The circle was complete and there are other things for me to do,
Which is where you are now.
So Katrina and I share very similar stories in that sense of where it was like a work-life balance issue and concern.
And I find that really amazing and wonderful,
But that's really what it was is that time I got to make that decision.
I was completely burned out.
I was completely exhausted.
I knew I needed something different.
I made the decision.
And then after that came additional challenges,
But from all those challenges came growth.
So this is about what you're being,
Who you're being,
Not what you're doing.
And we talk about that a lot here.
So what past experiences,
What past challenges have you gone through and what have they taught you?
Because in the moment that you're in now,
So as Katrina was saying,
I'm here now and I don't know what's next.
So it's really hard and it can be really challenging to say,
Oh,
Well,
This is a really beautiful situation and Nikki,
That's great that I'm going to learn something from this,
But I want to know what I'm going to learn now.
It's okay if you can't feel that right now.
That's why I want you to go back because it allows it.
I'm going to use the word solidifies it.
I can't think of a word in the moment that will probably come to me,
But it shows you what's possible.
And it gives you that breath of like,
Oh,
It happened once it can happen again.
Oh,
I remember I experienced this,
But out of that came this.
So what was that?
I experienced this challenge,
But out of that challenge came this.
That's what I want you to look at because that allows you to put where you are right now in this moment and say,
Well,
If it happened,
Then it can happen.
Now let me just be patient and trust.
And the trusting is the really hard part.
The pandemic had allowed me to have 24 seven time with my teen.
I was able to shoot her to show her and let go.
So she cools,
Expands and grows confirms confirms.
Yes.
That's a good word.
It's still not the word that was like,
I was thinking,
But yes,
Let her,
I was like,
Wait a minute to let her learn and let go.
So that's awesome.
That's pretty nagging feeling.
Maybe I should be doing something else.
So Dave,
I'm going to tell you to listen to that nagging,
Listen to that and say,
What,
What is this nagging telling me?
And it's so much more than I need to leave this job and go do something else.
And you don't need to,
Here's the best part.
When you start preparing for 2022,
I'm going to give you permission right now,
And I'm going to write it on the board.
You don't need to know two things.
One,
What you want.
You don't need to know my little things there.
You don't need to know exactly what you want or two,
How to get there.
To take action.
Right?
You don't need to know what you want or how to get there.
I want to use the word to take action.
It's still not quite sitting right with me,
But it's,
It works for now.
Because it's not necessarily action.
It's more to move forward to do something different.
You don't need to know exactly what you want.
You don't have to have complete clarity.
You don't have to have complete clarity and you probably,
If you don't have complete clarity,
That's okay.
You're going to get more clarity.
And how are you going to get more clarity by having contrasting experiences?
So yes,
Meditation reminds you to not do just me.
So Kathleen,
Are you asking what process you're saying the process question mark?
Can you expand on that question?
So I answer it and can kind of help answer it as best as possible.
So yes,
You don't need to know what you want or how to get there to take action.
All you need to know and all you need to accept,
And this kind of goes to you,
Dave,
Of like,
I'm just not happy and I can't quite figure it out.
And I almost feel like you're possibly frozen because you don't know the next steps.
And you're like,
Well,
If I don't know the next steps,
I can't do something.
Right?
All you need to know is how you feel.
And then what you take with those feelings is you explore them deeper.
I have to bend down here.
So explore those feelings.
And it's totally okay.
Explore those feelings and be okay with where you are right now.
So you're allowed to be okay.
All you need to know is how you feel and say something's not right.
That's okay that something's not right.
And I'm just going to keep exploring those feelings.
Why is it not right?
I don't know.
Let me just keep going through my day.
And you're going to get those past experiences,
Those contrasting experiences,
And they're going to help every time you have a contrasting experience,
You get more clarity.
So there are no wrong decisions.
You don't have to know what Z is to start at A.
You just have to know where you are at A and get to B.
That's it.
All right,
Let me see.
Yes,
What I am saying,
Sandy just wrote that what I'm saying contradicts most well-known goal setting theories.
Yes,
It does.
And I love that because we can set goals and we can do all these things,
But if it doesn't feel good,
If we slow down and listen to our intuition,
We'll know exactly what we need to do.
Amma says,
This is a great time of change,
Personal as well as collective.
Absolutely.
We all feel this new energy at some level or another.
We don't know what the new world will look like yet.
The world is new every single day.
Yes,
We're going through a ton of changes in our world.
We never know what pandemic or not.
We never know what the new world's going to look like.
We never know what new technology is going to come out.
We never know what new experience is going to happen.
We never know what's going to shift and change and move things around.
We don't know pandemic or not every single day.
We don't know what tomorrow is going to bring us.
We don't know.
And if we think we do,
We are fooling ourselves and we are lying to ourselves.
We don't know what the next day is going to bring us.
That's that we know,
All we know is that we don't know.
All we know is that change is inevitable.
Change is inevitable.
And we are always growing and expanding.
That's all we know.
That's it.
And when you accept that,
You can let go and just trust the process and just move forward so much easier.
Yep.
And each of us will have our individual shifts as we always do and defining the solution.
Be okay with it.
Thank you,
Dave.
Yes.
It's what's your,
It's a lot of what's your purpose,
But yes,
It is,
It is a three-part series.
So we are going to be diving deeper and deeper into this.
So really today is,
Is just that embrace of being okay with where you are and knowing that yes,
I'm going to contradict and I'm going to flip things on their head for you.
Because let me ask you this question.
Has typical goal setting always 100% worked for you?
Every single time you've done it,
Has it worked for you?
Have you written out a goal setting plan from A to Z and followed it from A to Z exactly as you wrote it out in the very beginning?
Because I can guarantee you A,
You've probably dropped the ball,
Started something and never finished it.
Or B,
You started something,
But what you started it at and what you were hoping to get in the end actually changed along the process.
So you can start at A saying,
Oh,
I think I want this.
But as you go through the steps in the process,
Z is going to change.
That picture is going to change because as you go from A to B and B to C and C to D,
Again the steps you're learning.
And this down here,
I'm going to,
Well,
I guess I should do up here,
But whatever.
It doesn't matter.
But as you go along that line,
What the end game looks like,
I guarantee you is different from where you started.
Because as you had those experiences,
Your goals changed.
You learned.
You learned something new.
You had an experience that shifted where you want your actual goal to end up and be.
But when we tie so much to this end goal and we say,
I can only,
This is where I have to be,
You pinch yourself off from any other opportunity that's around it.
And I guarantee you the universe source that's above you has something better than you can even think of right now.
So you can set a goal,
But universe is like,
I got something 10 times better for you.
I hope you're open to what's going to happen.
Because if you pinch yourself off and all you focus on is that one goal,
You are pinching yourself off from hundreds of thousands of other experiences that are going to be better than you could have even imagined.
Because the life you desire is probably 10 times better than you can imagine in this moment right now.
You can't even picture how good you're going to have it or what good things are going to come your way right now,
Because you haven't had the contrasting experiences to get there.
So setting goals,
Preparing for 2022,
Getting ready to start this new year,
This new chapter starts right here,
Right now with who you are in this moment and saying,
Who do I want to be?
And how do I want to move into this life?
I might not know what I want to teach if I'm going to be teaching next year.
I don't know.
For me,
That's what I'm saying this for me.
But I'm also going back to that original comment of the person who was an adjunct professor,
And you're going to be teaching new classes.
You don't need to know what those new classes are.
You just need to know I'm open to the opportunities.
And I want to be doing A,
B and C.
That's what I feel good doing right now.
I have no idea where I'm going to be in Z.
I hope that helps.
You said be okay with not knowing what you want.
How can you set a goal without knowing what the goal is?
Okay,
It's a really great question.
And we're stuck on goal.
We are stuck on this word goal.
So let's,
I'm going to take a breath here.
Because I want to explain this in the best way possible because I want you to kind of see.
And it might not click now.
Maybe it'll click later.
Maybe it'll click at the next live session or down the line or something else.
It might have to come from somebody else before it makes sense.
So we're saying what we want.
We want to have some sort of clarity.
Right?
We need to be okay with where we are.
Because if we're not okay with where we are,
We're not going to be in the vibration or alignment to get to where we want to be.
We're going to be pushing.
I'm not happy where I am,
I need to do more.
We need to start with where we are.
And then we need to move forward from there.
So we can have this vision.
We can have this goal.
I'm going to use this word,
It needs to be flexible.
So yeah,
You want to have a vision,
But you need to be open to change.
Because if you hold too tightly to that vision,
You are pinching yourself off from any other opportunity that's going to come its way to you.
It disappears in the darkness.
There we go.
I'll do the best I can.
It doesn't matter what word you use,
Your goal,
Your aim,
Your end result,
Your dream,
Your purpose.
I think we don't know what will be tomorrow.
We can set a goal.
We can set a goal,
But yes,
We have no idea what tomorrow is going to bring us.
Yep.
Yep.
So we're so stuck on a goal,
But yet it's not necessarily working.
So what's the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
So if it hasn't worked before,
Let's flip it on its head and do something completely different for 2022.
Let's flip it on its head.
What we've done in the past hasn't worked.
So let's do something different.
Let's make it different.
Let's get excited.
Let's not focus on the what.
Let's focus on the why.
Why do I want to change careers?
Why do I want more balance in my life?
I want more balance in my life because I am unhappy right now.
What I have is not working.
I want more joy in my work because I'm miserable and I deserve to be happy.
I deserve to have that.
And I'm saying this to me,
But I'm saying this is what you need to be saying to yourself.
We have to be flexible.
We have to be open to change.
We have to focus on our being.
So I'm going to give you a little anecdote story.
In 2018,
I walked into 2018 completely miserable,
Completely burnout.
I told you I changed my life.
I made a big decision.
It rocked my world,
Flipped it upside down,
Flipped it on its head.
Best decision I ever made.
But when I started 2018,
I knew what I wanted.
So I had this vision of I'm going to leave my job.
And I would have this vision of walking in,
Handing in my resignation letter and walking out the door.
I just I just knew like this is the change that needed to happen.
And that's where I was set.
Do you want to know the goal that I set for myself in the beginning of the year?
In the back of my mind,
Yes,
I was working on how do I get out of my job?
How do I do this?
How do I do that?
All of that was floating in my mind.
Do you want to know the one thing that I did for 30 days that changed my life?
It wasn't the task to have a business thrive and earn enough money for me to quit my job.
That's where I was thinking here.
I was taking action.
I wasn't being so those thoughts were there.
But there was an underlying thing that I did that said,
I just need to slow down.
And I did a meditation challenge for 30 days every day for the entire month of January.
I will sit down and meditate for at least five minutes.
That's it.
That's what I did.
Yes,
I was still at the same time thinking about how do I quit my job?
How do I do this?
How do I do that?
But if I would have spent 100% of my time in that space,
I don't think I would have gotten to where I want it to be.
So I had to focus somewhere else.
Because putting all that energy towards the taking of the action and the goal setting,
It was hard,
And it was painful.
And I didn't have the answer.
But I just kept trying new things.
And it was through meditation,
That I learned to be still,
That I learned to slow down,
That I learned to honor my feelings and emotions.
So it was through meditation,
That I reconnected with who I am.
And I was able to say,
I want this,
I don't know how I'm going to get it.
But I want to spend the summer with my kids.
That's what I want.
I don't know what it's going to look like.
I don't know how I'm going to get there.
But that's what I want.
And it was that vision that I held on to.
But how I got there was by no means how I thought I would.
No means I could have planned from A to Z.
Well,
Guess what,
By B,
It was like a total disaster and mess.
And I knew in my heart what I wanted.
So it's not about the things.
It's about the being.
Who do I so for me,
The question was,
Who do I want to be as a parent?
Who do I want to be as a work?
What is your being?
Who do you want to be as a parent,
As an employee?
Who do you want to be?
And what is it you want your life to look like?
And knowing at the same time that that is going to change.
So who I was in 2018 and the desires that I've had,
I got there.
I got the thing.
And then I moved forward.
Okay,
I got here.
Wow.
And just allowing yourself to experience life without the rigidness of it has to go exactly as I planned.
We have to let go of control.
If we hold on too tightly,
We pinch ourselves off from opportunities.
Have a vision.
But be flexible with that vision.
Be open to change.
And every day focus on who you're being.
That's where you want to be.
We're flipping goal setting on its head.
Because it hasn't worked in the past.
So let's do something different.
So let me look here.
And let the universe,
I love this,
Let the universe do the necessary for my goal.
The universe will guide you.
Just being prepared for opportunities.
Correct.
Give the universe a chuckle.
Tell them my plans.
I love that one.
If you're religious and you use the word God,
There's a really funny quote says,
If you want to make God laugh,
Tell him your plans.
That goes with anything.
You can replace God with anything.
So your goal was to have more flexibility and time.
Yes.
Correct.
That was my goal.
In the beginning,
It was I need to have my own business so that I can be home.
And then as the months went on,
It was like,
Okay,
That might not work.
Maybe there's something else I can do.
And I had gone through other processes to get to where I wanted to be,
Where I am today is semi self-employed,
Also working part time.
I have that complete flexibility.
I have that flexibility of time.
I have the schedule that I desired.
And now I'm desiring,
You know,
My desires are changing because I'm having contrasting experiences that are allowing me to change,
But it allowed me to be okay with,
You know,
For a while it was like,
Well,
The only way to have flexibility was to have my own business.
That was a belief that I had to undo.
I had to shift that belief.
I'm now saying I'm now shifting and changing how that is all of the time.
So I work outside of the home.
I am self-employed.
I have both ends.
But when I envisioned it in the very beginning,
I was,
I was pinching myself off.
And when I stopped pinching myself off is when all of the other opportunities opened up.
And I continue to just embrace new opportunities,
But I only,
Only take action on what feels good.
And if I feel like I'm pushing or forcing,
It means I'm not ready to take that action.
And I need to step back.
If I'm scared,
But it feels good,
Then I still need to do it.
So you have to find that balance within yourself.
Yes,
The universe definitely has a sense of humor,
But it ultimately always has your back.
So you can set a goal and the universe is like,
Got it on it.
I see your desire.
You have this experience.
You're putting it into as Abraham Hicks says,
You're putting it into the vortex.
I got you.
Let's go.
Let's move forward.
And then you as a human go backwards,
But your inner being is always moving forward.
And our goal is to line up with our inner being.
You know what the ideal outcome is when you're not sure how we will get there,
But also remembering this Louise is that that ultimate outcome can also change as well.
So remembering that as you have experiences,
That outcome is going to change too.
It has potential to change depending on where you are and what you experience and what you learn along the way.
So here's if you want to,
And we're going to wrap this up in a bit,
Because again,
This is a three part series,
So we're going to keep moving forward,
Which is really cool.
I'm very excited about that.
So if we look at 2022 and the question,
I think I want you to take from this first conversation.
Is who?
Who do you want to be in 2022?
So there's your question.
To take this question,
And we will come back together live in about two days.
And saying,
Who do I want to be?
You don't have to answer this today.
You don't have to answer this tomorrow.
You don't have to answer this in three days.
I don't care when you answer it,
But really taking the time to contemplate who do I want to be in 2022?
Where do I want to be?
What do I want to be doing?
Who do I want to be?
Where do I want to be?
And be honest with yourself.
And what do I want to be doing?
So,
I went from one question to three.
Such as like,
Who do you want to be in 2022?
Where do I want to be?
Oh,
I switched that up.
Where do I want to be?
And what do I want to be doing?
And thinking about these and not thinking about what other people think you should be doing.
Or I should be doing this.
If the word should or must or no.
Sit and sit with your being.
And if you think,
Oh,
If I share this with somebody,
They're going to think I'm crazy.
That's exactly where you should be.
Letting go of what other people might think about what you're doing or what other people have told you you should be doing.
Where do you want to be?
Really sitting with yourself and listening to that.
Listening to that question.
Listening to that answer.
The universe has better plans for us.
It has plans that we haven't even thought of yet.
Because we haven't had the life experiences to experience it.
So,
Really,
Really sitting and being.
Really sitting and saying,
Who do I want to be?
Where do I want to be?
And what do I want to be doing?
And from there,
We'll take the next step.
So if you come on Monday,
Monday morning,
8am Eastern,
If you come Monday morning,
And you've thought about these,
You've journaled about them,
You've meditated on them,
Don't take action.
Sit and just feel.
Because when we take action too soon,
When we take action from an out of alignment place,
It's not the right time.
And we're not going to get the outcome that we are looking for.
Action needs to be aligned action,
Inspired action.
I can have all the ideas in the world.
And I could be like,
Wow,
That's amazing.
I should do that now.
But if I think about the actual action of the doing and it doesn't feel right,
It's like,
Nope,
I'm just going to let that simmer and sit for a little bit and see how that feels.
And then I'm going to take the action that's inspired.
That action,
Did that thought come from an inspired aligned place?
Or did it come from a meeting place?
Did I need money?
And all of a sudden,
I'm like,
I have to do this because I need money.
Or was it,
Ooh,
I don't need money.
I'm not even thinking about money,
But I had this inspired action to go to X,
Y,
And Z.
That's how I started talking on Insight Timer.
I didn't come here to make money.
I came here because it was inspired action.
And I teach because it's inspired.
And if I would have taught the last three weekends,
I would have done it.
You probably would have gotten something out of it.
But it wasn't aligned.
I wasn't coming from an aligned space to teach and share.
So I wouldn't have been showing up as the best version of me.
So I took a few weeks off.
And I can now show up from a better space,
A more aligned space so that the information I'm sharing is connected information.
It's from my inner being.
It's from the universe.
It's from my soul.
I could have forced it.
I could have pushed.
I absolutely could have done that.
But I wouldn't have brought you the value that you all deserve.
And that wasn't aligned inspired action.
So when we're thinking about this,
And then we want to go set goals and tasks,
And we want to plan it all out.
We can't plan because we don't know what inspirational thought or action is going to come to us along the way.
So we may,
We will not know steps A through Z.
We just have to listen for step B.
Then once we get to B,
Then we just have to listen for C.
And then we can listen for D.
If we try to push and we try to leap over all of those steps to get to the end goal,
We're not going to get there either.
Because the universe is going to say when you're ready and you're aligned,
Then the opportunity will appear.
The inspired thought will come to you and it will feel really good.
And then you'll know what to do next.
Hopefully that was all very helpful for you all today.
We'll come back together on Monday to sit and chat some more.
So 2022,
Stay alive.
Not sure what you mean by that,
Larry,
But a reference to coherence.
Yeah.
So and coherence explain kind of what you mean by coherence.
I'm more than happy to chat for a few more minutes,
But this is kind of the end of the conversation here today.
So we will come back together on Monday for part two and we're going to dive.
We're going to take this information and we're going to dive deeper.
So come prepared with that for next time.
See you all in part two.
