Hi everyone,

It's Nikki.

Where I am in the world,

We're nearing the spring equinox,

And personally this couldn't feel more right on time.

Lately I've been feeling restless in the thick of winter and what felt like this hibernation I took in my home,

Away from the plans and the socializing,

To try and really rest and lean into the slower,

More isolated pace of winter.

I was beginning to feel like I was in a rut.

I wanted things to feel lighter.

I so badly wanted to feel motivation to do just about anything,

But the days were short and the nights only continued to get longer,

And if I knew anything,

It was to not push against what is naturally unfolding.

And just last week,

The clocks jumped an hour forward and I can already feel a bit more energy in my days just from those extra moments of sunshine after work or that evening walk I used to know so well.

A slow rebirth is happening.

Spring equinox marks one of the two days of the year where we have equal amounts of daylight and darkness across the world.

It also marks the start of the astrological new year.

Here in the northern hemisphere,

The days will get longer as the amount of daylight we have each day increases.

Flowers will slowly start to bloom and trees will bud,

Showing us some of the purpose and work of winter while bringing some hope of what's to come.

So in today's practice,

We will be using nature as a mirror for our own self-reflection and self-reflection on what we have gained from the darkness and what we can plant in the light.

Go ahead and find yourself in a comfortable posture.

This can be seated or lying down.

Take some time to wiggle into the position that's most comfortable.

You may choose to close your eyes or soften your gaze and noticing where your body meets the surface below you,

Grounding you into the earth's support.

We're going to start with four collective deep breaths,

Clearing out some energy of what came before this.

Inhaling in and out,

In and out,

Twice more on your own time.

And on this last round,

Exhaling fully before returning to your natural breathing.

Just noticing the natural cycle of your breath here,

Releasing any tension you may be holding and softening into this moment.

Returning to your breath every time your thoughts may try to take the stage.

You may even label these occurrences as thinking before returning back to your breath.

We're going to begin some contemplation.

Try to just allow your intuition to answer these questions and just notice the thoughts that come up.

No attachment or judgment.

What was gained in this season of darkness?

What was gained in the season of darkness?

What would you like to release?

It can be patterns,

Behaviors,

People.

What would you like to release?

What would you like to see bloom in your life over the next few months?

This could be a project or even a feeling you would like to embody.

And what seeds can you plant to support this intention?

And releasing these questions now,

Taking an inhale in and out,

Returning to your natural breath.

You may want to journal your answers once we wrap up this practice to set some intention during this time of rich transition.

I hope this season change brings a sense of renewal wherever you are.

And if you find yourself somewhere where the darkness is increasing,

To use this as a reminder that there is always more light to come.

Thank you for joining me today.

You can begin to wiggle your body and awaken to the room.

And when you're ready,

You can open your eyes.

Wishing you lots of light and abundance.
