Welcome to this healing appreciation meditation for your knee,
A meditation where you will gain tranquility,
Healing and appreciation for all of the wonderful things your knee does for you every day.
The act of appreciation can be so beneficial for healing the knee and can benefit your overall wellbeing.
This is true for general health,
But also if your knee has been through trauma.
Seeing things in a different light and treating your knee and yourself with more kindness can produce a natural,
Powerful healing effect.
Let's just come down into this moment,
Allowing yourself to be here in this particular space,
Making sure you're in a comfortable and safe environment,
Free from any immediate distractions,
Giving yourself permission to just unwind.
It's time for you to just be here with yourself today,
It's time for you to have some gentleness towards your knee today,
Just letting thoughts of the day or the day to come go now.
They may be in the background,
But they aren't of importance right now.
Just bringing your awareness to your knee,
Allowing it to soften into the structure that you are on,
Or allowing gravity to bring it down to the earth,
Allowing the knee to sink into the environment that surrounds you.
Think of this sinking in as the knee letting go,
Unclenching the muscles around the knee,
Unclenching the ligaments,
The tendons,
The bones,
Allowing these areas to soften and open up,
Allowing them to completely relax and let go,
Noticing the physicality or the sensations of the knee right now,
Noticing how it presents itself to you,
Feeling this,
Not using the mind,
Feeling.
Is there discomfort?
Is there comfort?
Is there warmness or tingling?
Maybe coldness or pressure?
Maybe you don't feel much at all.
Everything is okay in this moment.
There's nothing right or wrong to feel within the knee,
Just feeling it and noticing how it naturally functions.
The knee is such a wonderful joint.
It goes through a lot on a daily basis.
It is important to the structure and the flexibility of your whole leg,
Providing crucial balance for walking and allowing the opportunity for physical movement for your body.
It is the largest joint within your body and is considered one of the most stressed or pressurized.
It faces tremendous pressure each day through movements such as walking,
Running,
Or any kind of sports you may do.
And yet you have been using your knees for many years.
They have been durable.
They have been strong.
When we face damage to the knees,
We realize how important they are.
Appreciate your knees within this moment.
Appreciate their contribution to your life,
Their contribution to the physicality of your body.
Even right now,
You may have trauma within your knee.
Know that the knee is so robust and capable of healing.
Resting and allowing the stress within the knee to just melt away.
Releasing,
Letting go to the knee.
As the knee continues to release,
Being gentle to the structure.
Sending a gentle appreciation.
Giving it the rest it needs just for this moment.
Saying to your knee,
I appreciate you,
I appreciate you,
I appreciate you.
Noticing how this feels.
Rest here and know that everything is well.
Now as this meditation comes to a close,
Know that your knee will always be here for you,
No matter what.
Kindness and gentleness goes a long way.
Now just waking your body back up.
Your knee has got lots of deep rest during these moments.
Stretching your body if you wish.
Coming back to the world.
