Okay Anna,

You were asking me about fear.

This is another video with Anna and Jun.

We're in Germany and some questions,

Spiritual questions have come up.

One of the important ones was about fear,

How to handle fear on the spiritual journey.

Well first of all,

It's you know,

If you're feeling fear,

It's coming up to be clear.

It's good if you're feeling fear.

It means that you're actually really on the journey,

That you're doing deeper work,

That it's just going beyond the shallow and that the ego is getting bothered by it.

It's getting bothered by your progress,

Which if you think of it,

Is a good sign,

Right?

Yeah,

Sounds like.

Yeah.

But doesn't feel like.

No,

And this is the rub.

It's,

You know,

We want to grow and live our true authentic life,

But then we take steps and the ego starts fussing and we start feeling the fear underneath the ego.

So this is the fear left over from when you were a child,

Zero to six,

And it began to dawn on you around two or three that you could not have your true personality and fit into the family expectations.

And so you felt fear until you felt grief.

And then,

Yeah,

That's the grief underneath that everybody's carrying.

They're separate,

Where they have grief of being separate from their true nature,

Separate from God.

And just above that is fear where we realize,

You know,

We're two or three and we realize that we're in a way,

We're in a hostile environment.

It's hostile to our souls.

And this is,

You know,

The norm in the West.

We're an Elian native culture,

So it's not even our parents fault.

It's the way they were taught.

But,

You know,

When we start to clear and start to,

We wish to express our soul energy,

This fear will come up and then,

You know,

What to do about it because,

You know,

We can panic.

You were telling me that you had a very unhappy night with sweating and fear.

Now,

If we had more spiritual teachers around,

You know,

A teacher could just give you a hug and say,

Well,

This is good work,

Just keep going.

But often we don't have a teacher and we're just experiencing fear.

We might not even connect it to our spiritual journey.

We just go,

What is this?

What is this?

Not even realize that it's our ego trying to get us back in the old place.

So,

You know,

Fear,

I mean,

I've had so much experience with it.

So I just say,

You know,

Just observe it,

Be with it,

You know,

A mantra,

Listen to music,

Get some exercise because if your body's exhausted,

It's harder to feel fear.

Yeah,

Get some sunshine.

I've said,

You know,

Till probably you're all tired,

I'd walk the dog and have these just very sweet conversations with my parents.

And it would help me down coming down to the ground.

And I'd feel the lovely humanity,

You know,

Seeing the good parts in people.

Yeah.

Right.

You know,

Even if you don't do anything to soothe yourself,

What will happen is your physical body will get too tired.

You know,

Your physical body will get too tired to keep the fear going and you will surrender.

You will just surrender.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So really,

Just knowing that,

Fear is coming up,

But at some point you will just get physically exhausted from it and you will surrender.

And you'll find out that all you were scared of was love.

Oh,

Yeah.

This is so.

.

.

All you were scared of was peace.

You know,

Just understanding that about fear,

That the thing we're most frightened of is our true natures.

And in this alienated society in the West,

We're scared of our hearts.

Scared of really loving ourselves or others deeply.

Yeah.

And,

You know,

We're also scared to feel the sadness of this underneath.

Yeah,

I think that's the.

.

.

Yeah,

We're scared to feel how we really feel.

We're scared to know the truth of ourselves.

But,

You know,

God exists.

So,

You know,

If you just,

You know,

Go forward on the journey,

Don't push yourself,

Don't force yourself,

But just go forward.

You will be brought to a bigger understanding at a pace you can manage.

And the psyche has rhythms.

And sometimes it seems like maybe for two years nothing happens.

And then all of a sudden you make a big leap and all of a sudden,

Oh,

You understand so much more now.

Yeah,

And it feels so good.

So you keep going.

And then maybe you get really,

Really scared.

Go,

Wow,

This isn't much fun.

No,

It's not.

Yeah.

But again,

If you're just with it,

Just be with it.

Be present.

You will surrender into the love of your being.

Yeah.

We don't have to fix everything.

Having the courage to just be with it.

Yeah.

Without panicking.

Yeah.

And if we panic,

It's okay.

We can go to emergency.

Panic attack.

It's not the end of the world.

Get something to calm us down.

But you don't get the really big understanding without facing fear,

Without experiencing fear.

You do not come to experience God in yourself.

And maybe that should be understood that this is.

Yeah.

Maybe this can be my first thought when I recognize the fear and when I'm in the fear.

I can think,

Oh,

This is the way to understand more about it.

Yeah.

The trouble with the fear is that's exactly when you can't think that way.

Oh,

Yeah.

This is the trouble.

Wishful thinking just really trying to be reasonable.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

But so there is no recipe other than to surrender.

Yeah.

It's why I suggest keeping a journal because that's what I did was I'd go through a period of where I'm really scared and then I'd look at my journal and I'd see,

Oh,

I went through a period there where I was really scared and I got through that.

So I think it's a good thing.

Yeah.

So I can get through this.

Yes.

Yeah.

So that's why I'm so big on journals.

I don't know how many people actually follow my suggestion,

But really,

I mean,

It really can be a big help.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And,

You know,

If we got inspiring books that we read,

You know,

To calm us down.

Yeah.

My brother reads the Psalms.

My mom used to recite poetry.

Okay.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So everybody's got their own way maybe.

But fear won't kill you.

I mean,

I guess it could,

You know,

Somebody can get frightened to death.

But if you're on the journey and you're feeling fear,

It's good news.

Okay.

This is good news.

I can remind myself of the Russian,

I think.

Yeah.

So if you understand the journey that is part of the journey and just not to panic.

Yeah.

But take some action to help yourself and then observe as it lets go.

And then you have proof positive.

The fear can let go.

You see,

Most people haven't gone right through it.

They stop.

Yeah.

Okay.

Go right through it.

Well,

Actually,

I think you're going right through it in this.

Yeah.

During my visit,

I think you're going right through your fear to a bigger understanding.

And I think that's the value.

That's what you're going to find is a value.

Okay.

And then you'll know more deeply that God exists.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Okay.

Is that good?

Okay.

I hope this helps everybody.

Okay.

Bless your hearts.

I went through this recently. Weeks of fear because I have to do something very difficult involving family. Then one day I felt very secure inside myself, knowing I could face whatever comes even if it’s painful.

That talk was immensely helpful. What an eye opener! I immediately thought about little Julie, so playful, silly and full of imagination but being forced to suppress her true nature 🫤 I was raised in a very strict Christan home, my father was a dean and mama played/sang for the congregation. My two sisters and I were expected to sit very quietly on the front pew, never making a sound. It wasn’t much different at home…be seen but not heard mentality. My parents were/are very, VERY loving but it’s how they were raised as well. I remember getting in trouble for acting silly or laughing too loud and I feel such sadness for that little girl. I spent a lot of time alone, outside, playing and pretending. It was very lonely at times. My father has certainly softened in his older age (80) but I still see that same fear in him that must surely stem from his own upbringing. I didn’t mean to share so much, 🤓 it just sort of spilled out of me. I so enjoy your talks🙏❤️ Sending love, light and great appreciation your way!

I don’t think I knew what I was experiencing until you spoke the words. My excitement turned into panic when I started down this most recent path of working for myself. It’s really been me against me on getting things going. And I’m still moving through the fear, but I experienced anxiety pretty significantly over what could be, and I had to stop and meditate, then distract myself with music and positive conversation. It worked out so much better than deciding not to go forward. Thank you for your insight. I believe a teacher makes this process much more comforting and smooth. I’m working up to it. Lots of love and hugs! 🙏🏾🌸🙏🏾
