Premasudha looks at the trend of walking Barefoot and teases out a much higher understanding of why that simple action has so many benefits. The key to this audio, and to Premasudha's work, is that each of our hearts contains a genius. That genius is our eternal Being and as we learn to turn inward, we open the door to that high intelligence. The alternative, as she so gently but clearly points out, will be very uncomfortable. But walking Barefoot is just a tiny step in the right direction. We need to really awaken now.

I saw a study that pointed to that walking barefoot improved mental health,

And I'm sure it does.

But it's very much what we do in the West,

Is we will do experiments and quantify and spend a lot of energy to basically tell ourselves what our hearts already know.

And of course walking barefoot helps,

Because our feet are on the ground,

And you know,

We're of the earth.

We,

You know,

We spring from the earth,

Our physical bodies anyway.

So the more connected up to Mother Nature we are,

The happier we're going to be,

The more at home with ourselves we're going to be.

Okay,

The rep for Westerners is we're so over developed,

Really,

With our heads at the expense of our hearts.

So our heads will be thinking one way,

Like,

Okay,

I don't know,

Let's make two hundred thousand dollars next year.

And our hearts will be saying,

Hmm,

I really need some quiet time to listen to the Creator,

To listen to the small,

Still voice within.

I really need some time to connect up with myself and maybe members of the family.

Okay,

So this is the kind of conflict we walk around in,

And this is part of our unhappiness.

But even in a bigger way,

The fact we're so out of touch with our hearts,

And with the knowledge that the cells of our body are caring,

Because the cells of our body tell us about Mother Nature.

I mean,

We are part of Mother Nature.

And,

You know,

Really part of the reason,

I think,

For the anxiety is we're realizing it's dangerous to be as out of touch with Mother Nature as we are,

You know?

It's dangerous to use all the pesticides and contaminate all the water.

This doing the things we're doing just in the name of,

You know,

Profit.

I mean,

Profit's great,

But if it's killing us,

That's not so good.

So,

I just really with this video,

I just really want to spell out that it's really,

Really safe to start listening to your heart,

To just make room for what you deeply know inside to bubble up.

Because it's like a genius is inside us with all kinds of information to help us,

You know,

As we learn to walk in a more connected way.

And this,

Your heart,

Will give you information about really even what kind of job to have,

Who to hang around,

What to eat even,

What kind of food you need.

You'll get a great deal of information as you learn to listen.

Yeah.

And,

You know,

In the West we've been so outer focused that it's been almost taboo to turn inside and listen.

But we're,

The human race is getting to such an extreme with our head-based behavior,

You know,

That we're endangering ourselves and we're endangering life.

So,

It might be just safer to,

You know,

It's like a meditation practice,

Just slowing down a little bit,

Going for walks outside,

You know,

Staying present with yourself and with members of your family a little more,

Or a lot more.

Yeah.

I have great empathy for anybody alive today,

Actually,

And special respect for any hero who dares to turn inside even a little bit and listen,

Because it will really pay off.

It'll really pay off.

And,

You know,

On deeper levels,

Our anxiety is about how we're treating Mother Nature and how we're,

You know,

Poisoning ourselves basically with pesticides and the contaminated environment.

So,

It's like,

Come back to sanity.

It's like,

You know,

It's the call to come back to sanity.

I mean,

Walking bare feet's great,

But it's more important we wake up,

Wake up that we're part of Mother Nature.

We're not separate from her.

And if she falls,

We really fall.

Yeah.

And the other thing I really want to say is you'll become happier and you'll have more self-respect if you dare to listen to your heart and follow.

Yeah.

Okay.
