I know some very good-hearted seekers who do their spiritual practices constantly for years and years,
But they don't do one thing.
And I tell you,
If you do this one thing,
You can save years of your journey.
You can shorten it by years.
And it's to notice how you speak to yourself.
You know,
You are a beloved child of God.
Sure,
You're in human form and you make errors,
But just watch how you talk to yourself.
You know,
We know that if you direct anger at plants,
Do it constantly,
That it spents their growth.
The same thing happens to us.
How can we blossom as human beings if we're dousing ourselves in self-criticism and anger?
And as I said,
You know,
It is possible to do spiritual practices and to sort of keep the practice separate,
To not realize that the point of the practice is for us to wake up within our lives and change our perspective.
And one of the most important ones is our perspective with ourselves.
So one of the things I hear,
You know,
Women particularly do is they put lids on themselves.
So really notice that.
It's like,
Oh,
I could never do that.
Or I'm always so clumsy.
Or I can never lose weight.
All those things,
Just any limits that you speak,
They're informing your subconscious about where you're wanting to go in life because your subconscious listens.
And the more you say something,
The more that creates ruts almost,
Like habitual patterns in your subconscious.
So it will just create that for you.
And just out of actually kind of loving you,
It's just responding to you.
So it's just giving you what it thinks you want.
And the same actually with our God Self,
Our soul.
Our soul's always listening to us from the perspective of,
Oh,
Is he or she ready for the next shift?
Or does he or she want to stay in their current vibration?
So if you just go conscious on how you speak to yourself and what you verbalize to others and just stop doing it.
Okay,
I'll tell you an example from my own life.
I love humor.
So I mean,
I love people who make me laugh.
And in my early days,
There was a person who had a wonderful sense of humor,
But often it would be steered towards putting me down.
And I would recognize the put down,
But the humor was so clever that I would laugh.
I look back now and I go,
Oh,
Poor soul that I was.
So finally,
Actually,
When my kids started doing it,
That's when I said,
Oh no,
You can't do that.
You can't do that to me.
Bless your heart.
You can't do that to me.
And that's all that it takes.
You don't have to get angry.
Just say,
You know,
Bless your heart.
You can't do this to me anymore.
I will not accept it.
And then,
You know,
Sure,
It's important to think of how to notice how people treat you.
But I'll tell you,
It's how you treat yourself that is the point of power because you love and honor and respect yourself.
Your life will be filled with people who love and honor and respect you.
It's that so simple.
So,
You know,
In a way,
Like spiritual practices are wonderful,
But the point of them is for us to awaken in our lives and to take action,
You know,
To serve unconditional love.
Sure.
And to,
You know,
Serve it in ourselves to be true to the creator within us,
To be true to our souls.
And,
You know,
You are God in human form and you are worthy of respect.
And so may it become easy for you to live this.
And the other thing is,
You know,
If you've been doing spiritual practices for years and haven't seen this before,
May you make a quantum leap now,
An absolutely quantum leap and may all the,
You know,
The true benefit of the practices flow into your life and give you a lift.
Yeah.
Okay.
Bless your heart.
