Hello and welcome.

Today we will engage in a practice of loving kindness.

I invite you to get in a comfortable,

Restful and supported position for your body.

We will be internalizing phrases of love and compassion.

We are simply expressing intentions.

We may not believe just yet,

But we plant in our soul.

So as we begin,

Take a soothing breath at your own pace.

Maybe the deepest breath you've taken all day.

Soften your heart.

Soften the parts of your body that are holding on to resentments and tension,

Struggle and strife just for right now.

Release any plans,

Ideas,

Thoughts to the best of your ability.

In loving kindness,

We often begin with ourself first.

As you breathe gently,

You will begin to make wishes and intentions for yourself.

May I be filled with loving kindness.

May I be well.

May I be safe and supported.

May I have ease and comfort.

As you mull over and repeat these phrases internally,

Picture yourself as you are now.

However you look,

Whatever you're wearing,

Wherever you are,

Plant a seed of acceptance and hold that image close.

As you experiment with these phrases,

Think about phrases that might also work for you and would be best at opening up the heart chakra and allowing compassion to flow.

Now,

Since sometimes starting with ourself is not very simple,

Remember that it may be irritating,

Upsetting,

Strange,

And remind yourself that you are simply being a beginner today,

Practicing,

Setting an intention,

And it's okay.

Now,

If you can,

Conjure up an image of someone in your life who has been caring to you in some significant way.

This may be someone new in your life,

Someone from the past,

Perhaps someone you've never even met but have received immense care and respect from,

Someone who sees you for you.

And as we picture them,

We say,

May you be filled with loving kindness.

May you be well.

May you have ease and comfort in your life.

May you be safe and secure.

Now,

Hold this person in your heart,

Expressing gratitude.

Hold that image of them.

Feel the care that they've given to you wash over you and fuel your wishes for them.

Now,

Imagine someone outside of your inner circle.

This may be someone that you've come to communicate with in passing,

Someone that you've seen out and about,

Neighbors,

Someone in your community.

Or perhaps you may see passing images of many of these people who you have little to no interaction with in a neutral relationship.

Now,

Bring this image or series of images in the front of your mind as we send them the wish of may you be filled with loving kindness.

May you be well.

May you be at ease.

May you be safe and comfortable and secure.

This is a moment to remind yourself of your power,

Your healthy,

Loving power to send such joy and security to people that you may have simply passed.

Loving kindness spreads communal and community love.

And you are powerful enough to share that with others.

Now,

If you can identify someone that you've had some discomfort with,

Perhaps recently or in the past,

And respect who comes up immediately.

Your body is so intuitive and intelligent.

Now,

When we do this practice with someone that we have strife with,

This is not an invitation or a pressure to forgive or forget,

But simply an invitation to send healing and love for a strengthened community.

And as best as we can,

We wish them.

May you be filled with loving kindness.

May you be well.

May you be at ease.

May you be safe,

Secure,

And comfortable.

It is okay to find difficulty or feel like this may be impossible.

Find your inner strength.

And if you feel very uncomfortable doing this,

Simply bring yourself back to a gentle breath,

Reorient yourself,

And know that it is okay.

Now,

Imagine yourself glowing,

Glowing with white,

Pure energy,

Infused with compassion and care,

Loving power.

See it shining from every pore,

The palms of your hands,

Bright,

Open.

This is where our power lies.

See yourself abuzz and glowing with this amazing ability that you have.

To send kindness and care to yourself,

Your loved ones,

And your community.

People,

Animals,

Beings,

The whole Earth is blessed by your presence and your glowing white light.

Now,

Take that shine and power,

And if you can,

Bring one hand over your heart,

Infusing back into the one who created such immense love for this Earth today.

You are so special.

Bring the power inwards to refuel yourself,

To re-energize,

To give yourself that long-needed compassion.

Now,

I invite you to stay in this place,

Although I may be on my way,

Heading back into my own journey.

I wish you love,

Light,

Blessings,

Care,

And safety.

And remember this practice is always here for you.

It lives inside of you,

And you carry it with you anywhere.
