Welcome to my third affirmation practice designed specifically for you and all parents raising autistic children.
Please find a comfortable spot where you can rest and dedicate just a few undisturbed minutes to yourself.
Once you are in a comfortable position,
And if it is safe to do so,
I invite you to close your eyes and do a quick body scan to release any tension throughout the body.
Take a deep breath in and on the exhale,
Release your jaw if it is clenched.
Bring your shoulders down and away from your ears.
Take another deep breath in and on the exhale,
Relax your arms,
Your hands,
And place both feet on the ground.
Take a moment now to set your intention for today's practice.
Decide how you want to feel at the end of this practice.
Maybe you want to feel more courageous,
More empowered,
Or more present in your parenting.
If this is just one step forward toward your commitment to self-care,
That's good enough as well.
Feel free to repeat these affirmations out loud or silently in your head,
Or you can simply listen as well.
Let's begin.
I am doing my best for my child and deserve to give myself credit.
I am doing my best for my child and deserve to give myself credit.
I am doing my best for my child and deserve to give myself credit.
Inhale and exhale.
I have the ability to fill my child with joy and possibilities.
I have the ability to fill my child with joy and possibilities.
I have the ability to fill my child with joy and possibilities.
And exhale.
Every effort I make is one step closer to achieving our goals.
Every effort I make is one step closer to achieving our goals.
Every effort I make is one step closer to achieving our goals.
Inhale and exhale.
I understand that everything I do is out of love for my child.
I understand that everything I do is out of love for my child.
I understand that everything I do is out of love for my child.
Inhale and exhale.
I am an amazing parent and my child is blessed to have me.
I am an amazing parent and my child is blessed to have me.
I am an amazing parent and my child is blessed to have me.
Inhale and exhale.
I am capable of meeting my child's needs with understanding and compassion.
I am capable of meeting my child's needs with understanding and compassion.
I am capable of meeting my child's needs with understanding and compassion.
Inhale and exhale.
I will be gentle and loving with myself when I make mistakes.
I will be gentle and loving with myself when I make mistakes.
I will be gentle and loving with myself when I make mistakes.
Inhale and exhale.
My child and I are on a journey together and I am not alone.
My child and I are on a journey together and I am not alone.
My child and I are on a journey together and I am not alone.
Inhale and exhale.
I accept myself and my child as we are.
I accept myself and my child as we are.
I accept myself and my child as we are.
Take one last cleansing inhale and feel free to sigh on the exhale if it feels right.
Wishing you all the best on your journey forward.
Thank you for joining me with these affirmations today.
Don't forget to thank yourself for dedicating this time to your wellness.
