Good morning.
My name is Rebecca and I'm guiding you through this morning intention setting.
This is a simple yet powerful practice to begin your day with clarity,
Presence and purpose.
Setting an intention in the morning helps you choose how you want to move throughout your day.
What kind of energy you want to carry within yourself and what kind of energy you want to share with the world.
It's best to do this practice early in the morning just after waking up,
Either lying down in bed or sitting comfortably with a straight spine.
And this intention you're about to set will be like an anchor,
Something you can come back to when the day becomes challenging,
When your mind gets busy or heavy or when you feel disconnected from your body and breath.
This gentle awareness brings you back,
Back into your body,
Back into alignment between body and mind and into the center of your being.
So let's begin.
First find a comfortable position,
Sitting or lying down,
Maybe you just woke up and no matter which position you choose,
Close your eyes if that feels safe for you.
Feel the weight of your body being held by the earth.
There's nothing you need to do right now.
Simply arriving in this present moment.
Now bring your attention to your breath.
Let your breath flow naturally without changing it.
Just observe every inhale and exhale.
Breathing in presence,
Breathing out tension.
And if you like you can place your right hand on your belly and your left hand on your heart.
Feel the rise and fall of your breath beneath your hands.
Feel your heart beating,
Feel the rhythm of life moving through you in this morning.
You are here,
You are alive.
And now gently ask yourself how am I feeling this morning?
How am I feeling this morning?
Without trying to fix or change anything,
Simply notice.
Notice any physical sensations,
Any emotions or thoughts that are arriving and meet whatever is present with kindness.
And just be aware that there is no right or wrong way to feel.
You're just simply allowing yourself to be with what is.
Let your breath stay soft and steady as you witness yourself lovingly,
Openly.
And from this place of awareness ask yourself what energy do I want to embody today?
What do I want to offer to the world?
Maybe it's calm,
Maybe it's kindness,
Courage,
Presence or love.
Whatever arises,
You can trust it.
Let that energy settle into your body and breathe it in deeply.
And with every exhale,
Let it spread through your entire being.
And you may repeat silently to yourself,
Today I choose to meet the world with and complete the sentence with your chosen quality.
Let this sentence be a mantra.
Feel how it gently roots you.
This is your ankle.
This is your compass.
And now return your attention to your breath.
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your body.
Begin to move your fingers and your toes softly.
And when you feel ready,
Gently open your eyes.
And with your eyes open,
Take a moment to notice how you feel now.
You've taken a sacred moment for yourself.
And you've chosen how you want to show up today.
Let your intention be a quiet companion throughout your day.
And remember,
You can return to it at any time.
