Welcome to day 20!

Wow,

I'm so happy to be here with you right now.

Today we're going to compare emotions to clouds in the sky.

They go by,

But the sky remains.

The weather changes,

But the sky's always there.

All right,

So I want you to see if you can emotions that way.

We can observe that an emotion is there without owning it and becoming it and enhancing it by getting involved with it.

We can let it go by without it being important.

Remember,

Whatever we place our attention on grows and gets stored as if it's important in our minds.

Let's go with this one to be important because I'm paying attention to it.

Let's try to take some attention away from emotions.

We can notice an unpleasant emotion.

There is some frustration here or that comment.

I'm noticing I'm feeling triggered,

But as you notice that there is an emotion,

That's different from I am this.

There is frustration here already separates you from it a little bit.

Try that terminology.

When you notice an emotion that's an unpleasant one,

You can say there is frustration here.

There is concern here.

You notice it and you can let it go.

You can let it pass on.

You don't have to get involved and invite it in and play with it.

Bringing our attention back to just being present,

Feeling safe and okay,

And allowing that emotion to be there and move on like a thought.

A thought can be there and move on.

A cloud can be there and move on.

The weather remains.

The sky remains.

We remain.

Our peace remains.

It's a big one.

This is a big one and it takes a lot of practice,

But look at how dedicated you are already.

You're doing great and I'm so excited that you're really giving this some effort.

Thank you.

Keep me posted on how you're doing.

If you'd like to drop me a line at any time or just post in the community and see you soon.

I really appreciated the invitation to stop over identifying with my emotions and to release them. The cloud metaphor was beautiful and successful. Thanks Alice.

FAB. Wise! Love it! There is concern (etc) here VS I Am Concerned (etc)
