Hello everybody,
This is a meditation tool and it's called Letting Go With Restlessness.
Once again,
As I mentioned in the introduction,
When we sit and allow everything to be just as it is,
We're moving our awareness from the body and the mind into the posture of the ground of being,
Consciousness itself.
And that ground of being is the simple,
Ever-present awareness that does not move.
It simply notices the things that arise and fall away in the timeless,
Empty space.
It does not judge,
Condemn,
Approve or disapprove.
It simply,
Unconditionally accepts what is.
When we rest in the posture of allowance,
We rest in the soul's true nature of being.
And so one of the biggest distractions of maintaining this present awareness is the identification and the distractions that we have with our body.
So the posture that we call letting go of restlessness is once again one of the simple foundations that we must master in order to take self-responsibility for our true awakening.
These postures slowly build upon themselves to assist you in turning your attention to aware consciousness,
Which is the essence of the ground of being.
And of course,
The ground of being is your own soul's nature,
The very core of your own essence of being.
So in the letting go of restlessness meditation,
It's simply about energy aligning.
It's meant for dealing with body restlessness and aligning the energy of your body.
So when you're feeling restless,
You pay attention and you'll notice it is often your hands or your legs or your mind that's restless or jumpy.
And because they're all working over time.
The context of this meditation guides you to notice that your body's not aligned.
It's all your attention's all over the place.
And that the energy may not be proportionately distributed.
By resting in conscious awareness,
Any restlessness is noticed,
Acknowledged,
And embraced,
Bringing it back into balance and alignment.
And so we begin by once again,
Sitting or lying,
And just allowing everything to be just as it is.
So again,
We're building on the practices.
And we start with stopping,
Resting,
Allowing everything to be just as it is.
And we're just scanning the top of the head.
And we're just noticing that the hair follicles on the top of your head or your eyebrows and your forehead,
We're just noticing if there's any sort of restlessness or tightness in the forehead or in the scalp.
That as we bring awareness to this place,
These areas of the body,
We just take a breath and on the out breath,
We just rest to relax.
And bringing our attention down to the mask of the face.
And just noticing the face muscles relaxing,
The cheek muscles softening.
And as you breathe in,
You're breathing in peace.
And as you breathe out,
The face muscles are all relaxing and softening.
And same with the ears,
The throat,
And the neck.
We're just noticing if there's any tension or restlessness in the neck.
And now down to the shoulders,
Noticing if there's any restlessness or tightness or contraction in the muscles in your shoulders.
And just by noticing this restlessness,
We are acknowledging it and embracing it in the presence of consciousness,
Which is the presence of love,
Acceptance.
And so we're bringing our attention down to our left arm and our right arm.
Both arms resting,
Relaxing,
Gentle attention.
We're not trying to push or pull or move anything.
We're just paying gentle attention.
Just watching.
And down to the palms of the hands and to the tips of the fingers on the left hand.
And the palm of the right hand down to the tips of the fingers on the right hand.
And both arms,
Both arms,
Both hands are relaxed.
The heads relax the shoulders,
The arms,
And now the chest.
Bring your attention to the chest.
Taking a breath,
A gentle breath and on the exhale.
Again,
We're just allowing the chest to relax.
Letting any tension or restlessness just fall away.
We're moving our attention down to the belly,
To the back,
The spine,
Down to the hips.
Once again,
We're just breathing in peace.
And on the out breath,
We're just letting the entire body,
Any restlessness,
Just let go.
Letting go.
Softening and relaxing.
The awareness now on the left leg,
The left thigh,
The right thigh.
Noticing any tension in the hips.
Just softening and relaxing on your exhale.
Down to the knees,
The left knee,
The right knee.
Down to the shins,
The left shin,
The right shin.
And down to the feet,
The ankles and the feet.
Relaxing the soles of the feet and each toe on the left foot and on the right foot.
Both legs.
Torso,
Belly,
Back,
Both arms,
Both hands,
Neck,
Head.
From the top of your head to the tips of the toes.
The entire space between the top of the head and the tips of the toes.
Completely relaxed.
And you're just watching,
There's a space between the top of the head and the tips of the toes.
And there's space.
And that space is peace.
And so we just continue to breathe gently.
Breathing in peace.
And relaxing and breathing out.
Letting go of any restlessness and tension in the body.
And we just continue to gently just watch any restlessness and allow it to be released on each exhale.
And the more we let go of restlessness,
The more we notice it,
Acknowledge it,
And embrace it.
The more peace we attain.
And this peace is once again the natural essence of the soul.
And that ground of being,
It isn't restless.
It is very still.
And when we program the nervous system of the body with that stillness,
This is where we attain our conscious awakening.
