Find a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down.
Close your eyes and take a deep cleansing breath in and exhale gently.
Let yourself settle into this moment of peace and connection.
Begin by bringing your awareness to your breath.
Inhale deeply,
Filling your lungs with fresh revitalizing air and slowly exhale,
Releasing any tension.
With each breath,
Allow yourself to become more present,
More centered and more open.
Breathe in warmth and compassion and breathe out any self-judgment or resistance.
Now,
Gently scan your body from head to toe.
Notice any areas of tension and with each exhale,
Imagine them softening.
Relax your forehead,
Your jaw,
Your shoulders.
Feel the warmth of relaxation flowing down your arms,
Your hands,
Your chest.
Allow it to move through your stomach,
Your hips,
Your legs and all the way to your toes.
With every breath,
You are creating a space of safety and love within yourself.
Now bring to mind an image of yourself as a child.
It could be a specific age or a general sense of your younger self.
See them standing before you full of innocence,
Curiosity and emotions.
Observe their expression,
Their posture.
Notice how they look at you.
Gently open your heart to this child.
Take a moment to thank them.
Whisper words of gratitude.
Thank you for your courage.
Thank you for your curiosity and wonder.
Thank you for your resilience in your dreams.
Thank you for everything you have carried and everything you have taught me.
Let these words flow naturally,
Honoring the child within you for their strength and their journey.
If emotions arise,
Welcome them with kindness.
Now,
Speak gently to your inner child.
Let them know they are safe.
Tell them they are loved exactly as they are.
Reassure them that you see them,
You hear them and you will always be here for them.
If they have felt lonely,
Let them know they are never alone.
If they have felt afraid,
Remind them that they are now held in love and security.
Now,
In your mind's eye,
Reach out and offer them a hug.
As you embrace,
Feel the warmth of love flowing between you.
Sense the deep connection,
The unity,
The peace.
Hold them close and allow this embrace to fill you with comfort and healing.
Stay in this moment for as long as you need,
Basking in the love and gratitude you have cultivated.
Let the warmth of this connection wrap around your collective heart.
When you are ready,
Gently begin to bring awareness back to your surroundings.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Take a deep,
Nourishing breath.
As you exhale,
Bring with you a sense of peace,
Love and gratitude for your inner child.
When you feel ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Carry this feeling of warmth and affection with you throughout your day.
Know that your inner child is always with you,
Always loved,
Always held in kindness.
