Hello,

My name is Scarlet and welcome to the practice of Yoga Nidra.

This practice is a practice of self-love,

A remembrance of wholeness and the essence of who you truly are.

Please gather any props for support such as a bolster,

Blanket or eye pillow and set yourself up in a supine position for extended rest.

Imagine you have just laid down in the softest powdery ash whereby your body naturally begins to yield to your experience.

The ash is a reminder of fire's ability to create,

Destroy and transform.

Create,

Destroy and transform.

A continual cycle with no complete beginning and no complete ending.

Always an opportunity to begin again.

Allow your eyelids to soften naturally.

Feel how your breath translates sensation between your nostrils and your upper lip space,

Light as a feather at its entrance.

Get deeper and more powerful as your breath communicates with your body.

Each time you exhale,

You soften deeper into the spaces where you are held.

Feel the power of your prana as it soars through,

Initiating a feeling of lightness and strength as it fills you up.

In this practice,

Connect to the intelligence,

Strength,

Love and healing that resides within you,

Imprinted within your prana.

An untapped well connecting you directly to a higher source.

This practice is a journey home to freedom and limitless potential.

Feel your way into your heart and light a flame here in the sacred cavern of your heart.

Tend to this flame with a profound feeling of gratitude,

A felt sense of gratitude,

Not only in name but feeling.

In this space,

You are safe.

It's from this place that we begin the practice of yoga nidra.

Set a sankalpa for your practice.

If you're already working with one,

Please call upon it now.

Otherwise,

You may guide your practice with,

I see through the lens of love.

I see through the lens of love.

It is wise to use the same sankalpa until it is fully felt through a series of practices.

This resolve is a reflection of your highest calling and deepest desires.

A sankalpa is used to remember who you are,

For you are already whole.

Use clear positive intent and repeat your sankalpa three times with purpose within your heart.

Now give all your attention to your right thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

And pinky finger.

Feel the palm of your right hand,

The back of your hand,

Wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

And shoulder.

Feel the right side of your ribs,

Waistline,

And hip.

Feel your right thigh,

Knee,

Lower leg,

Right ankle,

Heel,

Sole of your right foot,

Top of your right foot,

And all five toes.

Concentrate your awareness now into the whole right side of your body.

Fill the entire right side of your body with your awareness,

Whole right side.

Now bring your presence to your left hand and give all your attention to your left thumb,

Left index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

And pinky finger.

Feel the palm of your left hand,

The back of your hand,

Wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

And shoulder.

Feel the left side of your ribs,

Waistline,

And hip.

Feel your left thigh,

Knee,

Lower leg,

Left ankle,

Heel,

Sole of your left foot,

Top of your foot,

And all five toes.

Now flood your attention into the whole entire left side.

All of your attention and awareness into the left side of your body,

Whole left side.

Now move through the back plane of your body,

Starting with the soles of your feet,

Backs of your heels,

Calves,

Backs of both knees together,

Both sets of hamstrings,

Both sides of your buttocks together,

And the back of your pelvis.

Feel your low back,

Mid back,

And upper back.

Feel your shoulder blades,

The curve of your neck,

The back of your head,

And the crown of your head.

Feel your forehead,

Eyebrows,

Your brow center,

And both of your eyes.

Feel the bridge of your nose,

Your nostrils,

The tip of your nose,

And your whole nose.

Feel your upper lip,

Lower lip,

And both lips together.

Feel your teeth,

Your tongue,

Your upper palate,

And feel your whole mouth.

Feel your chin,

Your jaw,

Your right ear,

And your left ear,

And feel both ears together.

Now feel the space between your ears.

Travel down your throat to the center of your throat.

Feel to the right and to the left,

And feel your whole throat.

Move your awareness down to the center of your chest.

Feel your right lung,

Your left lung,

And both lungs together.

Feel your heart,

Which is between your lungs,

Left of center.

Feel your whole entire rib cage.

Move your attention to your upper abdominal area and low belly,

And your pelvic floor.

Feel the front of each thigh,

Both of your kneecaps,

And your shins.

Feel the tops of your feet,

And all 10 toes.

Feel your entire right leg,

Entire left leg,

And feel both legs together.

Continue feeling both of your legs,

Along with your whole torso,

And add your right arm from shoulder to fingertips,

And your left arm from shoulder to fingertips.

So now you're feeling everything from shoulders to fingertips to toes.

Now add your neck,

Your face,

Your head,

Your throat,

So your whole entire body is wrapped and filled with your awareness.

Whole body awareness.

Feel your whole body.

Whole body.

Feel how your breath translates sensation between your nostrils and your upper lip space,

Light as a feather at its entrance,

Yet deeper and more powerful as your breath communicates with your body.

Each time you exhale,

You soften deeper into the spaces where you are held.

Feel the power of your prana as it soars through,

Initiating a feeling of lightness and strength as it fills you up.

Rest within spacious awareness within your breath and life force.

Rest in the space where the earth supports you unconditionally,

So you have a safe space to rest and soar.

Feel your whole body in complete wholeness.

Notice how your navel is connected to your heart and brow center,

A steady cord within you.

Choose where you wish to anchor your awareness,

Whether it's your navel,

Heart,

Or brow center.

I will name a felt experience.

Allow yourself to naturally conjure forth this experience of opposites.

Give yourself permission to fully and freely feel before we rest back to our center.

It is human nature to have an aversion to feeling less desirable emotions,

But it is our human experience to feel the full spectrum of our existence.

By practicing in this manner,

We create new neural pathways that break the cycle of unworthiness.

I will always guide you back to wholeness.

For a moment,

Allow yourself to notice what apprehension feels like.

The beginning of apprehension before it completely manifests.

Where does this feeling anchor itself in your body?

Does the thought of it create certain felt sensations?

What is the quality of your breath?

Release this feeling completely.

Release this feeling completely.

Now,

Invite in the feeling of intuition.

What does it feel like to be connected to your intuition,

Your inner knowing?

What does it feel like when you're guided by a feeling untethered to emotion but to a higher intelligence?

How does your body feel?

How does your heart and mind feel?

Are there any felt sensations or signals when you are connected to your intuition?

Allow the feeling of your intuition to be fully released,

Knowing that the imprint of the feeling resides within you when you need to call upon it.

Return back to the space of your navel,

Heart,

Or brow center.

Return now.

Feel your whole body breathing effortlessly with your environment.

Feel yourself integrated and whole,

Resting here now.

Return to wholeness.

Return.

Feel the soft powdery ash that you lay on,

Whereby your body naturally yields to your experience.

Imagine you are as light as a feather,

Suspended and absorbing the transformative qualities of ash,

Translating fire's abilities to create,

Destroy,

And transform.

Create,

Destroy,

And transform.

A continual cycle with no complete beginning and no complete ending.

Always an opportunity to begin again.

You are walking along a path.

You feel the soil beneath your feet as you continue down this path.

A thicket of trees lies to your left,

Providing fresh shade from the glimmering sunlight.

A slope towards the open sea is on your right,

Waves crashing in their might.

You come upon a fire in the middle of the path,

Framed by forest,

Sea,

And sky.

You watch as a phoenix bird is born from the flames,

Resurrected from its ashes,

Reborn.

A magnificent crimson and gold phoenix,

Beautiful to behold,

Majestic in its presence,

Powerful in its stance.

The phoenix comes towards you and beckons you onto its back.

You effortlessly hold on,

And you and the phoenix soar upward,

Carried by the wind.

Free,

Free.

As you are carried higher,

You look around you,

Noticing the expanse beneath you and the expanse above.

Now,

You are flying as the phoenix,

Merged together as one,

Soaring through the open sky,

Soaring through the infinite cosmos,

Soaring through pure intelligence.

As you fly,

Your subconscious sees a series of images,

Miles of coastline,

A drop of water,

Golden hour light,

The face of a loved one,

A bite of strawberry,

Coming home,

Mist in the early morning,

Sheen of metal,

Space,

Space,

Space,

The eyes of desire,

Rose petals and a bowl of water,

Marble floors,

The texture of a plant,

A candle in the wind,

A soft breeze,

Rustling leaves,

A burning ember,

Molten gold.

You are flying as the phoenix,

Merging together as one,

Soaring through the open sky,

Soaring through the infinite cosmos,

Soaring through pure intelligence.

Absorb the intelligence that you seek on your journey as you continue to soar,

An opportunity of rebirth and renewal.

The intelligence you seek is within.

The strength you seek is within.

The love you seek is within.

The healing you seek is within.

Everything you need is within you.

Feel unconditional love radiate within your heart.

Feel this now.

Fly yourself back to your body where the phoenix transforms back into powdery ash.

Feel yourself gently drift back inside your heart,

Back inside your body with this remembrance of the intelligence and the divine within you.

As you return home,

Repeat your sankalpa three times,

Reaffirming your deepest desires,

Allowing it to come forth from the pure intelligence within you.

Acknowledge and recognize your inner strength.

In this elevated state,

Feel your body held in connection with the earth.

Your body,

Mind,

And heart are whole.

In this earthly state,

Remember this feeling of healing.

The practice of yoga nidra is now complete.

Allow a feeling of gratitude to wash over you and fill up your entire being.

Become more aware of your breath and your body and increase your conscious participation in your whole body's breathing experience.

Invite small movements as you begin to awaken from this deep rest.

Welcome a full body stretch with a deep breath and roll over to one side with your eyes closed and pause here.

Notice the hum of your nervous system and the quality of your mind and when you're ready,

Lift yourself back up to a seat with your eyes closed.

Bring your hands to your heart and set an intention for this day.

How would you like to feel?

Remember this feeling.

Until next time,
