I'm Colleen Thomas.

This is Daily Magic for Peace.

Today,

We will work with water to ask for a cooling of temperaments and a washing away of fear and injustice.

Welcome to The Circle.

The only item you will need for today is a bowl of water.

It can be any size.

A jar or a water bottle will work too,

Especially if you can see through it.

Feel free to pause the episode here and go get it.

If you don't have access to water right now or you'd rather have your hands free,

It's fine to just imagine a bowl of water.

I invite you to find a quiet place or a place you can sort of focus or actually focus,

Whatever your world is today.

And I invite you to take a breath.

And I invite you to notice how your body might feel a little different after having taken a breath.

As we're getting settled,

I'd like to remind you that even though you might be listening to this episode in your own space by yourself,

Maybe on headphones,

You are part of a circle right now.

We are intending ourselves to be together,

To be as one,

And so it is.

We are one circle.

We are together.

Regardless of space,

Regardless of time,

Regardless of being synced up in the same moment,

We intend it,

And so it is.

So before we can send healing or prayers or intention,

It's good to center ourselves and get calm,

Work out some of our own angst,

Our own stress,

Our own distraction.

And a good way to do that is to get into our body.

So our first grounding exercise will be very simply looking around your space,

The space you're in,

The room you're in,

The space you're in outside,

Wherever you are,

And notice anything that is the color red.

I invite you to just look around.

Notice what's red around you.

How many things can you see that are red?

Let your eyes gaze all around you in every direction,

Including behind you.

And now let's switch it up and look for things that are blue.

Looking around,

Just noticing the blue things,

Just noticing that looking for colors brings us more into this moment,

Into this now moment.

And I invite you to take another breath.

And our next grounding exercise will be releasing and connecting with the earth beneath us.

You might find it easiest to do this by sitting or standing,

But you can do it by looking at the earth beneath you.

And then you can just look at the earth beneath you.

You can do this by sitting or standing,

But you can also do it lying down.

And all we need to do to do this is to allow our consciousness to drop down into whatever we're sitting or lying or standing on.

And what's under that?

And then what's under that?

Until we go down far enough that we get to the earth,

The surface of the earth,

The rest of the earth,

Maybe the concrete over top of the earth,

And allowing our consciousness to continue to go down into the earth,

Just gently,

Gently down through the layers of topsoil and the water table,

Down,

Down,

Down,

Down,

Down,

Down,

Just effortless.

And feel gravity a little more strongly connecting you.

And I invite you to notice how it feels different now to have that connection consciously.

Now I invite you to pick up your water in whatever container it's in and just begin to interact with it a little bit,

Let it swirl around,

Notice the texture of it,

Notice the way it moves,

Notice the quality of it.

This precious,

Precious water that we need so much in our bodies,

In our lives,

This clean water that is so easy to take for granted,

This precious,

Precious thing,

This gift.

And if you feel like it,

I invite you to dip your fingers in and connect with this water and say thank you.

Give your gratitude to this water.

This water is amazing.

Just allow yourself to connect.

Notice if you feel like jumping in a river right now and just surrounding yourself with water or taking a bath,

Just getting in there with the water.

Just allow the water to calm you a little bit more.

And now join me in asking this water to cool the temperaments of everybody involved with the conflict.

Ask this water to take away,

To flow away any fear and injustice.

Ask this water to carry our tears.

Ask this water to hold the sorrow in our hearts.

Give it a place to go.

Let water be the motion that goes out from us exactly where it's needed across the country,

Across the world.

Allow healing to surround us.

Ask water to help us.

Please,

Water,

Help us.

Help us,

Help us,

Help us.

And thank you,

Thank you,

Thank you.

And sending out this love,

Sending out this intention,

Letting it grow bigger and bigger around you,

Around your body,

Leaving the edge of the space you're in and going out into the world.

It knows exactly where to go.

So just let it go out there.

Just let it go exactly where it's needed to go.

I invite you to take one more breath and release this prayer,

Release this magic,

Release this intention.

And I invite you to look around the circle with your mind's eye,

In your mind's eye,

And see who else is sitting here with you.

See that there are other people here with you in the circle with their own bowl of water doing the same ceremony with you right now.

You are not alone.

Your magic is amplified.

May it be so.

Your energy,

And your heart make all the difference in healing our world.
