This practice helps you open your heart and focuses on the giving and receiving of love, as well as feelings of self-love. There is a frequency of love that is everywhere and when we pause to connect with and open our hearts to it, we can align to that frequency with awareness and compassion. That's what this meditation will guide you to do. Enjoy getting comfortable and relaxing as you open your heart chakra and bathe in the love and light radiating inside and all around you.

This meditation will help open your heart to love,

The giving and receiving of love,

As well as experiencing self-love.

When I first started hosting women's retreats,

I found myself at the most beautiful retreat house surrounded by nature.

This house was built by love and you could feel it the moment you walked in.

Often times when I would arrive there,

I'd feel tears come to my eyes and I'd sense this warm welcoming energy,

Like I was being held,

Supported and loved.

What I've learned from retreating there is there's this frequency of love that is undeniable.

It is a space that is free of judgment,

Free of negativity,

Free of limiting blocks and free of fear.

This frequency of love is what led me to discovering reiki,

As reiki is a gentle hands-on healing modality that channels the universal life force energy,

Which to me is much like the frequency of love.

From retreats and from sharing reiki with others,

I've also come to realize that this frequency of love isn't just available to me on retreat or in a reiki session,

But it is everywhere.

It is around me and within me.

Love is all around you.

It is within you.

Maybe you notice this frequency of love when you are present with your children,

When you hold a baby,

When you pet your dog or cat,

When you feel the sunshine on a warm summer day,

When you have lost all track of time doing something that brings you joy,

When you care for another,

When you allow yourself to be cared for.

The way we keep ourselves so busy and on the go,

It can be quite difficult to feel in tune to that frequency of love.

Yet there are things we can do to open our hearts and align to that frequency of love all the time,

No matter what.

That's what this meditation will guide you to do.

So take the time now to get really comfortable.

You can sit in a meditation pose or you can even lie down in your bed or in shavasana,

Relaxation pose.

Whatever you decide,

Just make sure that you feel really comfortable.

If you're lying flat down on the floor or in your bed,

You might support the back of your neck and head with a pillow.

You might even roll a blanket to support underneath your knees.

As you get really comfortable here and close down your eyes,

Let's start with a simple body scan.

Bring awareness to your body and simply notice how you feel.

Maybe you can do some adjustments here to get just a little bit more comfortable.

Bringing your awareness to the crown of your head.

As you imagine this relaxing energy just washing down the top of your head and as it does this,

It's relaxing every muscle in your face.

Your eyes are soft.

As you swallow,

You release the tongue from the top of the mouth.

Your throat softens.

Your shoulders melt away from your ears.

You feel your heart opening as the rest of your body just releases,

Getting heavy now as every muscle in your body is soft.

Bring your attention now to your breath.

Release the inhale breath through your nose.

And then just open your mouth and let it go.

Again fullest,

Deepest breath in through your nose.

Open your mouth and release.

One more full breath in through your nose and as you open your mouth let your whole body relax.

Now let your breath fall into a natural rhythm as you continue to relax deeply.

Letting your breath naturally breathe you in and out.

As you start to bring some attention now to your heart center.

Your heart center is where your heart chakra is.

The energy center of love.

Maybe your heart feels wide,

Open and expansive.

Maybe it feels reserved,

Nervous or closed off.

Wherever you are in this moment is right where you need to be.

We don't have to label it as good or bad,

It just is.

And it changes just as we change every day.

The heart chakra's natural state is open and relaxed.

And with the way of our world it can feel hard to keep it that way.

Your heart feels better when it's opened and relaxed.

Opening your heart interferes with your health,

With your enjoyment in life and with your ability to connect deeply to others.

So for this meditation I want you to practice opening your heart.

Opening up to love.

Take the time to reflect on the things that inspire the feelings of love and care inside you.

Notice what comes up for you.

If opening your heart makes you feel afraid of getting hurt,

Acknowledge those feelings too.

Notice them.

Ask yourself is it worth living a life where you miss out on love available to you to give and receive?

Is your heart as open as it could be?

Are you open to giving love and receiving it?

Now simply let it all go with your breath.

Take your deepest inhale and a nice slow exhale.

Bring your attention back to your heart center.

Imagine the color green.

Expansive green.

Healing green energy.

Can you sense the frequency of green?

Maybe you can see green at the heart or maybe you can feel it.

Can you sense or see the color green at the front and the back of your heart?

This healing green color is expanding with each breath.

You might even start to imagine it going down your arms and through your fingertips.

Your arms are an extension of your heart center.

It's where you give and receive love.

Imagine that you're expanding that love through your arms.

Now pick one of the things that you thought of earlier that inspires feelings of love in your heart.

Could be flowers.

It could be your special place in nature,

The beach,

The mountains.

It could be a child or beloved.

Think of something that brings up feelings of love for you.

Can you feel that love radiating in your heart center?

You might even feel inspired to softly smile as you feel that love radiating,

Expanding and opening your heart.

Let that feeling of love and energy pulse from the center of your chest as you repeat in your mind or even out loud,

I am love over and over.

I am love.

I am love.

I am love.

Feel that energy of love throughout your whole body.

I am love.

I am love.

I am love.

Feel that feeling of love in your heart as it starts to move throughout your whole body.

Now expand that feeling outside of you like a loving white light surrounding your body.

Feel that.

Now expand that feeling to the whole world around you.

Feel open.

Feel expansive.

Feel alive.

Feel love.

Feel loved.

Feel free.

Allow yourself to bathe in the feeling of love.

And I will let you know when it's time to return.

You you you you you you you you Start to bring awareness now back to your body As you take a nice slow inhale through your nose and then open your mouth and release you Might start to gently wiggle your fingers and your toes With your next inhale breath breathe love into every cell of your body receive the feelings of love and then exhale and give those feelings of love Inhale love exhale love Exhale love true unconditional love starts on the inside with yourself Remember that loving yourself is just as important as loving others Your heart chakra functions best when you give yourself consistent love and care That can mean treating yourself to a massage or a hot bath making time for your meditation But it can also mean setting healthy boundaries eliminating negative self-talk and honoring your time and energy Your internal flame will heat up and shine bright when you love yourself first that heat will radiate out from your heart chakra and touch those you meet and Those beautiful souls that you share your compassion with will be your greatest teachers If you're still lying down in your meditation you might roll to one side noticing how you feel before you push yourself up to a comfortable seated pose and Once you're seated place your hands to your heart center You can put them together in prayer pose or actually just place them crossing them on top of each other to really feel the love in your heart I Repeat this phrase I open my heart to love I Open my heart to love I Open my heart to love as You softly smile and gently bow I Thank you deeply for sharing this loving practice with me today Namaste You You You
