This short meditation helps cultivate a sense of peace in the body and tune into the stillness that dwells in your center. Regularly revisting this place of stillness can help you remember that amid the chaos, there is peace within.

Welcome.

Today's practice is focused on stillness.

Finding stillness in the body.

Practicing stillness.

Let's begin.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable way to be in the body.

A way where the body feels totally and completely supported by whatever it's resting on.

Can we begin to let our bodies settle where they are?

What does settling feel like in the body for you?

Maybe it's the softening in the muscles or loosening of the joints.

Maybe it's allowing your bones to grow heavy and be drawn downward,

Down toward the earth.

Perhaps we become aware of gravity.

Let our bodies ease into it.

As I allow myself to rest,

I trust that the earth will hold me.

I'd invite you now to bring your awareness to the breath.

Without changing or deepening the breath,

Simply noticing what is my breath like in this moment.

Does my breath feel slow and easy?

Does my breath feel tight or restricted?

Can I find a way in which the body is breathing itself?

No effort is required.

Breath moving in and breath moving out of the body.

We are constantly in motion.

We are busy doing,

Fixing,

Planning.

Can we remember in this moment that in the middle of all of the doing is stillness?

There is stillness in the center of all of us.

For our next few breaths,

I'd invite you to bring your awareness,

Bring your attention to that space between the inhale and the exhale.

There is a space of stillness,

Of non-doing,

And of peace in the center of the breath.

Let us take 5 long slow and steady breaths with a small pause between the inhale and the exhale.

I am here in the stillness,

In the center of my being.

Blessings.

Namaste.
