This is a meditation for self-forgiveness and for this meditation we'll be focusing on one of the names that we use for the Creator in the Jewish faith.

It's the name that translates as was,

Is and will be.

The Creator was,

There was nothing before the Creator of the universe.

The Creator is.

In this heartbeat the Creator sustains all life and the Creator will be.

There is no end,

No final point to the Creator's existence.

Jewish tradition encourages us to emulate the Creator and when it comes to the notions of forgiveness and unburdening perhaps this message of was,

Is and will be can help us on our way.

Was teaches us that we all have a history.

What was done by us and what was done to us.

A history that shapes our lives and shapes our decisions and shapes every aspect of our relationships.

Some memories weigh heavy,

Sometimes too heavy.

The dark shadows bring frustration,

Anger and hurt.

Is teaches us that we all share this present moment.

A moment that suspends powerfully inviting us to frame our mindset and choose how we want to respond.

And will be teaches us that we all have a future.

No matter what occurred in the past we were all given the chance to seek new beginnings,

New chances,

Fresh perspectives.

Just because it always was doesn't mean it will always be.

Yom Kippur and the days preceding are a gift.

A time to reflect on how we've been showing up in the world and instead of getting stuck in the frustrating hamster wheels of habit we can use this powerful notion of was,

Is and will be to foster forgiveness and unburdening and with it joy and authentic deep inner health will emerge.

So join me on a powerful forgiveness visualization meditation as we utilize the power of this time to come back home.

So let's first make sure that we are feeling present,

Feeling in the moment by focusing on our breathing firstly ensuring that our eyes are closed,

Sitting or lying down,

Comfortable undisturbed.

Just notice your body being held by the chair or by the floor noticing the sensation of your feet against the floor,

Feeling present there's nowhere else that you need to go right now rather than this place here right now.

Just notice yourself loosening all the tension in your shoulders or the tension in your neck or the tension in the back of your head just let it go completely.

Starting with your right leg touch it with your mind and send it to sleep and now your left leg touch it with your mind send it to sleep getting warm and comfortable.

Next up your right hand and right arm just let it go completely.

Let it become really relaxed there's nowhere to text,

To write to wave,

To touch just being in this moment.

The same thing now with your left hand and your left arm just let it go completely.

Let go of any tension in your tummy just let it go,

Let it go.

All we have is this moment no one can be sure what tomorrow will bring just stay in this moment.

Let go of any tension in your chest and instead noticing the shape of your chest as you breathe in your chest rises as you breathe out watching your chest full.

Your back taking out any stress or tension or knots in your back just relaxing completely.

If you come up to your shoulders and your neck just feeling the load lighten once again taking solace from this one moment that we're in right now.

The right side of the face and the left side of the face,

Your tongue,

Your teeth,

Your mouth,

Your nose,

Your nostrils getting soft,

Your eyes,

Your eyelids,

Your head,

The top of your head until from the tip of your toes now to the very top of your scalp feeling present,

Being warm,

Heavy,

Relaxed and with this we can begin the process of self-forgiveness focusing on was,

Is and will be.

First ourselves,

Was.

Take a moment to reflect on how you've been showing up over the past few months or even years.

Some of the things you've said or done that you wish you hadn't.

Words or actions that you wish you could take back don't reflect your true essence.

Now focus on is the present.

Is this who you really are?

Is this how you want to show up in the world?

How do you feel right now about what's happened?

Where would you like to change?

What are the character traits and mindsets that don't belong to you?

Let them go.

Let them go as you move into the future.

Will be the future.

It's yours to shape.

Just because you were showing up in this way does not mean that you are programmed forever.

Look into your future and see yourself unburdened.

Look into your future and see yourself calm,

Patient,

Slow to anger,

Quick to be appeased.

It's not that you can't fix yourself but the deepest secret is that fixing yourself is what you are in this world to do.

Was,

Is and will be.

If you sincerely regret your negative acts,

Resolve never to do them again and fix whatever damage you're able to,

Then you are forgiven and your past will be recycled and put towards the future good.

As we come towards the end of this meditation,

Take a big deep breath in and breathe out.

Breathe out the past and now breathe in the new sensation of being forgiven,

Stepping forward into a brighter future.

And whenever you're ready and it feels right for you,

You can open your eyes gently.

Take a look at the room and the world around you.

With new fresh eyes,

The future is bright.
