Wisdom Bits Talk: The First Hour Of The Day
Let’s talk about starting our days off with power and positive energy. The way we spend the first hour sets the tone for the whole day. And, believe it or not, we mostly do have a choice as to how this hour will go. Wisdom Bits are short talks to help you live the positive lifestyle that you deserve.

Hi,
This is Stefania and this is Wisdom Bits,
Tiny mini podcasts to help you energize and brighten your day in a small amount of time.
I read something very interesting the other day.
It was an article that said how you spend the first hour of your day from the time you get up to going through your morning rituals,
Etc.
Sets the tone for your whole day.
It sets the tone for the rest of the day.
I think it's true.
When I wake up focused,
The day does seem to go better.
How do you spend the first hour of your day?
Do you rule out of bed,
Turn on the news,
And say to yourself how disgusting everything is and how sad it makes you feel?
Do you think about how you do not want to go to your place of employment?
If you work,
If you go out to work that day,
It might be a good idea to make some changes.
Do you turn on your phone first thing and look at the Facebook?
Sometimes there's some pretty negative stuff going on there.
Not always,
But sometimes.
Do you find that stuff?
Does it find you and you get drawn into it?
Then you don't feel so good,
Do you?
Might be a good idea to make some changes in our morning routine to get the best out of our day and the best out of that first golden hour.
One good thing that can be done when we get up is to do a little spiritual reading.
Doesn't have to be a lot of reading.
Don't have to go from A to Z in the Bible or read some tome.
Just a few paragraphs or pages of some book or article that inspires you is enough.
It lifts you.
It lifts your energy.
It lifts our spirits.
Maybe even before that though,
The very first thing we could do when we wake up is have a glass of water.
We've gone about eight hours without drinking anything,
So let's hydrate straight away.
Dehydration also makes us feel fatigued,
So if we are not hydrated as soon as we wake up,
We might have a hard time getting going.
Maybe we can even try a small bit of exercise after we get out of bed.
Before we eat breakfast and do our washing up,
Beginning our morning routine.
It doesn't have to be a big aerobic high intensity training workout.
It could be something like stretching our arm muscles,
Our necks,
Some neck rolls,
Gentle neck rolls because you just woke up or even simpler than that,
Things like stretching,
Touching your toes,
Moving your arms around.
Any movement is good really just to get the blood going.
By now,
It's probably time for you to do your tidying up,
Brushing your teeth,
Or eating your breakfast,
Putting on your clothes,
And getting out the door.
But if you can spare a little more time on something that is your true passion,
That would also put a sparkle in your day.
Even if it's only five minutes,
Your hobby.
If you work in a nine to five job,
But you have a dream of having your own business,
Then spend a few minutes,
10 minutes or more on that business.
This includes something even as simple as making a few notes of things to do when you have more time in the evening or on the weekend.
It's just about keeping the dream goal energy alive and your motivation strong.
Sometimes if we just wait for the weekend to pursue our passion,
We might think,
Oh,
I'm so tired.
I'll just sit here on the sofa and do nothing.
But if we do little things during the week,
As little or as much as we have time for towards our dream,
Towards our goal,
Towards our hobby,
Towards those things that give us joy,
Then we have a constant flow of energy.
When the weekend comes,
We still have more energy to do even more,
Go even deeper on pursuing that pleasure,
Little and often.
The first hour of the day can be a golden time for us,
A special time for us,
A sacred time for us.
It can be a time for us to do something that gives us joy and energizes us before we get out and get into the hustle and bustle and busyness of the day.
I like to start my day.
Okay,
Full disclosure,
There are times when I wake up too late and it's not time to do any of this good stuff.
But generally speaking,
I like to start my day with a bit of sacred reading.
Then maybe pull an oracle card to get some idea of the energy for the day or to get some encouragement to point me in a positive way.
Then if I have a bit of time,
I do some yoga exercise.
It's not a strenuous asana or pose,
But it does get my blood flowing and stretching my muscles so I can be flexible.
Then I'm off to start my day.
I'm awake.
I'm alert.
I got that energy going.
Then also,
Time permitting,
I might also make a few notes on things that I want to do during the day or just things I want to do in the near future.
But I want to write it down so that I have it in writing and I can put it in my schedule.
Because sometimes if you just hold it in your head,
It can all turn into a big jumble and you just think,
I want to do something,
But I don't remember what it was.
So you know,
Have a little notebook by your bed.
That's another thing we can have.
Just jot a few notes down if you get some ideas for your business,
If you get some ideas for a hobby,
If you get some ideas for something that you would like to do that is positive,
Someone you would like to speak to.
Make a note.
That way when you do go out,
It's like you've given time to yourself before you give time to everybody else.
So you're focused,
You're centered,
And you're ready to go.
And you can,
Most times,
Interact with other people,
Do your other work more easily because you've taken that time,
That hour or however much you can spare,
You've taken that time for you,
For your growth,
For your spiritual energy revitalization,
For your health.
It's important.
We might even think,
I was going to say you,
But we might even think of getting up that little bit early so we can really work that hour.
So how do you start your day?
What do you do in that first hour with inspiration and purpose to move yourself towards your goals or to move into the energy of the day,
Staying positive?
What's your routine?
What kind of things do you do?
Do you like to do a bit of exercise?
Do you go to the gym in the morning to start your day?
Do you meditate?
It's really not important what you do.
I think as more the attitude with which you do it.
Staying positive,
Staying uplifted.
Sometimes things happen in that first hour that are out of our control and we could just totally go off.
But if we could just pull ourselves back to center,
We can still stay on track.
So just something to think about.
Let's try to just keep ourselves,
Keep our energy high in that first hour of the day and let it carry through the whole day,
Blessing ourselves,
Blessing those that we come in contact with.
Sometimes it might take a bit of effort,
But let's give it a try.
Let's do our best.
And that's it for today's wisdom bit.
Mind that first hour of the day as best we can.
Let's start it off on the right foot.
If you'd like to interact more,
We do have a circle,
Positive affirmations for everyday life.
And the other one is EFT,
Tapping for everyday life.
Hope to see you there.
If not blessings to you anyway.
And mind the way you start your day.
Bye for now.
