This short guided meditation is a companion track to my "Soothe Tired Hands" meditation. Both of these tracks feature Reiki-based techniques, however, it is not necessary to have received prior Reiki training or attunement to receive benefit from these meditations. In this track, I will guide you through a series of easy steps to help soothe your tired, strained and/or aching eyes, with mindful pauses in between steps for you to relax in your awareness. This meditation may be used as part of your morning routine, a midday pause, or a wind down prior to bedtime. I hope that it will provide soothing comfort to your eyes, as well an overall sense of well being. Note: Please do not operate a vehicle or heavy machinery while listening to this meditation.

Thank you for joining me for this guided meditation to soothe tired eyes.

Please ensure that you are sitting somewhere safe and comfortable.

And take a moment to ground yourself by feeling the way that your chair,

Your bed,

The floor,

Or the ground is supporting you.

Feel free to close your eyes for all or part of this meditation.

There will be no bell or chime at the end,

So if you drift off to sleep in the course of the meditation,

That is perfectly fine,

Provided that you are in a safe space to do so.

First,

Arrange your hands so that your palms are facing one another,

Bringing your palms very close together,

But not quite touching.

As you hold your palms close together,

You may begin to feel a bit of heat between your palms,

Or perhaps a tingling sensation.

What you are sensing is energy.

You may define this energy in any way that resonates for you.

Thermal,

Spiritual,

Life force energy,

Or some combination therein.

If you are not sensing anything between your palms,

That is perfectly okay.

Just know that energy is flowing,

And that this energy is no more or less beneficial whether or not you can sense it there.

Take a few moments here to hold your hands in this position,

Taking a few easy breaths,

And relaxing your neck and shoulder muscles as much as you can.

Next,

Cup your right palm over your right eye,

And your left palm over your left eye.

Your palms can be ever so gently touching your brow and your cheek,

Or your palms can be hovering just slightly above your eyes.

You may wish to experiment with both palm placements to see which placement feels most comfortable and soothing to you.

You may also wish to experiment with whether you prefer for your eyes to be slightly open or gently closed during the palm placement.

I'll give you a few moments here to place your palms on or near your eyes.

When you find the palm placement that feels best to you,

Take a few more easy breaths,

And place your attention on the energy that is flowing from your palms to your eyes.

Allow your eyes to be bathed in this soothing energy.

I'll give you a few moments here to simply enjoy this feeling.

There is nothing more that you need to be doing at this time.

Continue to hold your palms in this position as long as you wish,

Even as you ponder these questions.

How are your eyes feeling right now?

Did you notice any heat or coolness between your palms and your eyes?

And how are you feeling in general?

Are you feeling more relaxed or more refreshed?

Please know that you can return to this meditation as many times as you wish.

This technique may be used as part of a morning routine,

A midday break,

Or my favorite,

A wind down before bedtime.

However and whenever you choose to use it,

I hope that it will bring you soothing comfort and a sense of overall well-being.

I wish you a wonderful day and a restful night.
