Emotions.
A natural connection.
Emotions,
Something we fear,
Sometimes we aim for,
We chase,
Or at others we run from.
Labelling as good or bad,
Light or dark,
Low or high,
All necessary,
Yet not often welcomed in that way.
Through this meditation I invite you to get into a beautiful space of acceptance,
Depth and trust.
Starting where you are.
Pausing,
Making yourself comfortable.
And just as the breath ebbs and flows,
So do your emotions.
Breathing,
Allowing.
Breathing in through the nose,
Up towards the head.
Exhale,
Slowly down towards the earth.
Continuing to breathe in this way.
Establishing this connection to the earth beneath you.
Using the breath as our anchor.
Establishing roots down into the earth below.
Your feet held steady on mother earth.
This steadiness enabling you to check in with mindful awareness.
Emotionally,
What are you currently experiencing?
Just noticing with curiosity,
Not attaching a story to how you should feel,
Or what you have felt,
Or what you feel most of the time.
But in this moment,
This moment of mindful awareness,
What is arising within you to be witnessed?
Sit with it.
Sit in the discomfort.
Sit in the joy,
The happiness or pain.
Knowing you are safe.
Grounded and held by your connection to mother earth and nature.
Nature teaches us nothing is permanent,
And emotions are the same.
Impermanent and ever-changing.
From moment to moment,
No two days are the same.
Let your emotions be your guide.
Your messenger in the moment.
Tuning in.
Today,
What is showing up for you?
Not good or bad,
But from a space of love and acceptance.
Knowing you are nature,
Nature is you,
And you can witness and be darkness and light all at once.
Breathing,
Ebbing,
Flowing.
Breathing,
Ebbing,
Flowing.
The breath is like water.
Allowing you to experience the flow.
All the emotions to move through you.
Like the ever-changing cycles and seasons of nature passing by,
Naturally without resistance.
Just acceptance.
Nature is mindful.
Nature is the present moment,
And so are you.
Connecting to that inhale.
Exhaling down to the earth beneath,
Strengthening the roots.
Strengthening the feelings of safety,
Of belonging and groundedness.
Using our roots as an anchor.
Holding us steady as we navigate all life's emotions.
Our roots are nourished by the depth of Mother Earth.
We can cope,
Navigate and enjoy life from the space of acceptance,
Of this constant ebb and flow.
Can you befriend all emotions?
See them as friends,
As guides and teachers.
Our body and soul in communication with us.
Fear showing us the edge of self-belief and its desire to protect.
Anger highlighting boundaries and what's important to us.
Joy whispering to us what lights our soul.
And contentedness showing us safety,
Ease and belonging.
Releasing the stories we attach,
But opening the conversation with self and emotions.
The emotions flowing in cycles,
Communicating with us along the way.
Our own internal navigation system.
Let's choose to welcome,
Embrace and be with them.
Checking in again,
How do you feel?
What is your emotional state now?
Has it changed?
Breathing,
Allowing,
Witnessing.
Pausing for a moment.
Visualising yourself in your favourite space in nature,
Feet grounded to the earth below.
Rooted,
Secure and anchored.
Knowing that like the clouds that pass you by in the sky,
As night follows day,
This too shall pass and nature will support you.
Embracing it mindfully in this moment.
Breathing up and down.
Up and down.
Slowly guiding yourself back to this space,
Becoming aware of your surroundings,
Moving your body however you feel guided.
Coming back feeling safe,
Secure,
Grounded and supported.
