Hi everyone,

I'm happy to speak to you today about meditation,

Another wonderful day to come back to relaxation,

To that state of deep relaxation that meditation allows.

And I'd like to start by just showing you a very simple way to do this,

To come back to this state of relaxation.

It's as simple as breathing.

We all breathe,

Sometimes we breathe in a way that's not very relaxed.

We sort of replicate this sort of scenario that I call the fight or flight scenario.

It's a stressful scenario to be in.

This means that we are expecting something to happen and we are preparing physiologically for that situation to develop.

And usually we think it's going to develop into something a little bit more negative than what the situation often turns out to be.

So,

You know,

This fight or flight response changes if you know how to breathe in a certain way.

If you breathe in a shallow way,

Which is the typical method of breathing when you are caught in this fight or flight response,

Physiology type situation that your body is experiencing,

Then stress is very often something that you definitely experience.

But the breathing changes from being deep and connected to being shallow and somehow very panicky.

And we may not recognize this type of breathing because it becomes so normal for most people to breathe in this way that we think,

Okay,

This is just the way I breathe,

You know,

It's nothing unusual.

But in actual fact,

If we recognize that this sort of dysfunctional way of breathing because it's sort of creating this idea that something negative is going to happen and there are all sorts of stress hormones that get released in the body that make you think in this way,

If we recognize the issue and can consciously change the way that we breathe in the moment that we're breathing in this shallow way and change it so that we're breathing in a more profound and deep and connected way,

Then everything begins to change.

The physiology of the stress hormones cannot continue in the same way.

The fight or flight response that your body is recognizing as perhaps an issue no longer becomes the focus of your experience.

And why am I speaking about this?

Because you've probably heard of this before,

Haven't you?

I think it's very much something that's being spoken about today,

This sort of stress level that is in our complex society,

In the society where there are so many demands,

So many information,

So many things going on that we get overwhelmed.

And this fight or flight response creates this situation where we're just burdened by everything in life.

We can't recognize anymore the simplicity of wonderful,

Beautiful experiences because we're caught up in the stress of everyday living.

So why am I speaking about this?

Because that which recognizes the beauty of life,

That which is within you that recognizes this sort of beautiful aspect of being alive is your heart.

And your heart is the key to recognizing not only happiness and joy,

But also recognizing that which is beautiful or has the potential to express itself as beauty.

And the heart is one of the very,

Very sensitive organs in the body that when you are stressed,

When you are in this fight or flight response,

Gets very affected.

And you may not sort of understand this because the physiology of what's going on doesn't really depend on what you think or how you understand the situation.

It's just automatic,

It's an auto-response.

So we change the heart rate variability.

This is the way that the heart sort of beats.

And if there is stress,

The heart somehow tenses up,

The heart muscle that's within your body,

Just like your muscles,

Begins to tense up and begins to beat in a way that is not coherent.

There is a sense of there is something wrong,

So your heart is prepared for that which it perceives as not very beautiful,

But perhaps life-threatening,

Difficult or challenging or whatever the perception is,

Or whatever the perception may feel like or is experienced as,

The heart then reacts in a physiological way,

In a physical way,

To say that,

No,

I'm not going to create a state of coherence because now what I'm needed for is to address this difficult situation.

So the heart rate variability is one of the ways that we can measure stress.

That is one of the ways that we know if we're stressed,

Because very often we don't know that we're stressed.

I often ask people,

Are you okay?

They say,

Yeah,

Why?

I'm okay.

They cannot,

The signals of this heart rate variability is not very easily recognized when your mind is caught in stress and when your mind is attached to the thoughts that connect you to stress and that somehow pull you away from what is beautiful,

This state of well-being,

This state of equilibrium that creates the openness and the receptivity to experience and to get in touch with beauty.

That somehow gets blocked or constricted because the heart rate variability changes.

So I'm repeating that word just so that you remember it.

The heart rate variability,

You can sort of recognize it by placing your right hand,

If you're right-handed,

Or your left hand,

If you're left-handed,

Upon your chest,

Close to where the heart is.

And when you do this,

The palms of your hands can sense the information that's being transmitted,

The physiological information that's being transmitted by your heart.

And you can sort of recognize,

Like a monitor,

Like some of those monitors,

Those devices that now have been created to measure the heart rhythm,

You can sense this through your intuitive sense of touch because touch is very,

Very powerful and a very powerful way of recognizing what is going on.

So when you place your hand upon your heart,

You are more in touch with what is going on in your heart and the physical organ of your heart,

And of course,

In the emotional aspect that is being created through all the connections and all the communications that's happening deep inside of you,

And that you're feeling within this organ,

That you're sensing within this organ,

You're more in touch with this information.

So when you're in touch with the information,

It's not enough to recognize the symptoms.

You may be in touch,

You touch your heart and you say,

Oh,

That feels nice,

I'm sort of able to relax now.

Because what's happening is that you're allowing for a certain biofeedback,

Information recognition.

You're allowing for the universal wise mind that is aware and connected to all sorts of information beyond that,

Which is stressful beyond that situation that you might be sort of reacting to and creating a fight or flight situation because you're sort of thinking or believing that that situation is negative,

Fearful or going to create pain.

You're sort of letting that go and coming back to the universal wisdom that recognizes that there is deep within you,

A wisdom that can connect you to something much more profound.

This is why when you touch this area with the palms of your hands,

It feels good,

It feels as if you're letting go of stress and this biofeedback loop that is happening,

This communication that is now taking place is very different from the one that previously was creating stress.

The fight or flight situation changes and you begin to listen,

You begin to get in touch with yourself,

In touch with the information that's being communicated within you,

In touch with your heartbeat,

In touch with your breath,

In touch with your body,

In touch with your feelings,

In touch with what is really going on rather than this sort of fearful reaction to a thought or a feeling or a belief system that comes up to the surface and then creates that sort of reactivity that is not very useful when it comes to complex situations that require a certain amount of wisdom,

A certain amount of communication that goes beyond just reactivity,

A communication that is anchored within the state of coherence that you're creating by simply doing this very,

What most people will say,

Oh this won't make a big difference,

It does,

It makes a very huge difference because you begin to create a meditational state within you and a connection to your physical body and a connection to this biofeedback loop that is being created through your own body and you begin to recognize the subtle signals that are being transmitted through your heart and the heart rate variability begins to change from one that is stressed to one that is coherent,

Relaxed and in touch and that automatically changes the way that you breathe and the way that you feel and the way that you communicate to situations around you and that is a wonderful thing,

That is a gift that you can embrace once you recognize this possibility within yourself as an experience and you can practice this right now and see for yourself,

Once you recognize this experience through your practice then there is a sort of excitement and this excitement is important,

It's very,

Very important that you write this down in your journal,

I call this journaling,

So as soon as you recognize sort of the shift of consciousness,

The shift away from stress or this reactive state of mind to a mind that is more coherent,

That is more in touch then it's important that we conceptualize this and write it down so that the mind understands this biofeedback loop so that it makes sense to us,

We as Western people,

We as Western people,

I mean everyone because we are all following almost or everyone follows a sort of Western culture of some sorts where there is all sorts of activities that are very different from say the way that native people live in nature,

In harmony with nature,

There are very few people who do this today,

You may be more in touch with nature than most people but generally,

Generally most people are so out of touch that they have forgotten the concept of what it means to create this coherence and as soon as you begin to journal,

This means that you write in your journal the information that you are getting in touch with,

The universal mind,

The wisdom that you are getting in touch with as you let go of that stressful reaction to situations around you and within you and get more in touch with the communication that is created as the heart rate variability relaxes into a state of coherence,

Then you are in touch with very important information that can transform your life,

That can create joy,

Happiness and bliss and that can create all sorts of beautiful manifestations that for some reason begin to become more abundant in your life and this is not some sort of wishful type thinking,

This happens,

We know this happens,

Neuroscientists have seen this over and over again as soon as you begin to change your physiological reaction to stress and open up to the abundance of experience,

What it means to be open to the many,

Many possibilities rather than close your mind and react to a belief system as if that is the only thing that is going on in your life,

As soon as you let that go and open up to this state of coherence then all of a sudden everything changes because now that you are writing in your journal these wonderful things that come up to the surface,

Recognitions,

Intuitions,

Just feelings of ah,

I understand or the aha moment that happens when you all of a sudden recognize that you are putting into practice something that is very powerful,

Sounds very simple but in actual fact it is very,

Very powerful when you put this into practice,

As soon as you recognize this it is important that you keep going with the flow and you do not stop and just sort of say I recognize,

I am aware of my heartbeat or I am aware of the way that I breathe,

It is important that you go a little bit deeper and you create information,

An information flow that happens through journaling and when I say journaling what I mean is that you simply creatively write in your journal what you are experiencing,

That which you are in touch with,

The communications that are happening beyond just the surface of the situation,

The communication of ah,

I am feeling good or ah,

I have just understood that when I let go of stress my body actually feels more joyful,

My mind actually replicates certain brain wave patterns that invite more joy and I am more in touch with joyous experiences,

It is a wonderful thing that you can put into practice and there is so much more information,

Very powerful information that can be totally transformative in not just the way that you feel,

In the way that you experience life,

In the way that you actually communicate to yourself,

To people around you,

To your partner,

To your family,

To the constellation of people around you,

To your work colleagues,

Your boss,

To just situations around you that you meet,

That you may not recognize as challenging,

You can change all this by practicing this very simple biofeedback loop where you are in touch with the heart rate variability within yourself so that you recognize what to let go of,

The baggage that we often very,

Very,

Very,

Very get very attached to and pull along you know for many,

Many months or many years for some people,

We pull along now,

We recognize okay we don't need to hold on to this anymore,

We don't need to hold on to that stress,

We don't need to hold on to that fear,

We don't need to hold on to whatever it is that is creating a challenge,

We can let it go but only if we let go from deep within the space that very often is affected by stress and that is the heart.

The heart is so sensitive,

So in touch with what's going on,

If we constantly bombard it with stress and with negative thoughts and with just ways of doing things that don't actually create a positive outcome,

If we constantly do this,

The heart somehow solidifies into like this space of I don't want to feel any more of this,

I don't want to get in touch with anything because it's all not very nice and as soon as we begin to open up and let that baggage go,

Then we are getting back in touch with a very sensitive but a very beautiful part of ourselves.

So never be afraid of getting back in touch with yourself or getting back in touch with the wisdom that is within you,

Recognizing that and embracing that and celebrating that in your life,

Not just as a meditation but as a beautiful way of communicating to the people around you and communicating to yourself and communicating to all the situations that manifest within your life.

That is so very important.

If you forget this,

You forget how to live,

You forget how to celebrate and be happy and be part of life in such a way that you can say I am alive,

I am happy to be alive,

I am happy to be part of this incredible manifestation that is life.

If you are not doing this,

It is very often because the heart is come to a space where it is blocked,

It's constricted and doesn't want to feel anything anymore.

And so if this makes sense to you,

And even if it doesn't,

Please practice,

Please put this into practice,

If this makes sense,

Then I invite you to move into what I call the space of knowledge,

The space of wisdom,

And to really appreciate that this space is within you,

Appreciate that you hold the key to this space.

And as soon as you appreciate this space,

Then whatever you are doing in your life,

You will align your consciousness and this state of awareness where you recognize the importance of letting go of the old,

Letting go of the past,

And coming back to honoring this new space.

You will align your life,

What you do,

Your focus,

Your connection to various aspects that are around you,

You will align that connection and way of relating to the world and yourself in such a way where you will manifest certain aspects around you that will support your knowledge.

And those aspects can be people that you now begin to recognize,

A conscious community,

Conscious ways of doing things,

You know,

Just conscious,

Positive ways of doing things.

A positive thing could be gifting yourself,

For example,

With one of the courses that I'm going to speak a little bit more about,

What I've been speaking about now,

And just gifting yourself with this experience.

You know,

Neuroscientists have said,

All the things that we spend our money on,

All the things that we spend,

Material things that we spend our money on,

Buying or,

You know,

Accumulating or whatever,

Is not as fundamental for our happiness as an experience.

So I'm going to invite you now to first practice this meditation so that you see for yourself that this practice is worthwhile and that it truly transforms many,

Many aspects of your life.

But so that you go,

You're able to go a little bit deeper.

Sometimes it's very useful to invite this experience into your life.

Many times it's almost like something that reminds you to remember what you're experiencing now through words but also through an energy transmission.
