Let's make ourselves comfortable.
So putting your body somewhere it can rest for a little while,
Somewhere you can park it for a little while and it will be comfortable.
And we'll take a few deeper breaths as we settle.
Breathing in we can let our spine get a tiny bit taller.
Exhaling we can get a little bit softer.
So what we'd like is our spine to be tall but not so tall that we're rigid and uncomfortable.
Let's see if we can balance our head on the top of our spine.
So our neck is in line with our spine.
So we're going to imagine the energy flowing up and down our spine.
We'd like it to be lengthened and not too bent.
So let's take our attention to the earth beneath our feet.
Visualising,
Feeling the earth beneath our feet.
However that comes up for you.
Can you imagine the earth connecting with you through your feet,
The energy of the earth connecting with you through your feet.
And as you breathe the energy flows up and down your legs or through an imaginary cord coming out the bottom of your spine if you prefer that.
But we don't breathe too hard,
Breath stays comfortable.
As we inhale energy of the earth flows up into our body and exhaling our energy connects with the earth,
It flows down.
And when we're going to inhale next the energy of the earth is going to flow into us and we can imagine it lighting up our base chakra.
And that's traditionally red if you would like to imagine that at the base of your spine.
It's going to get a little bit brighter.
As our energy and the earth's energy flows back and forth with the breath.
And the energy of the earth flowing a little bit higher into our sacral chakra which you might like to imagine as orange just below your navel it's going to light that up.
Next time we inhale let's imagine that energy rising a little bit higher into our solar plexus that's becoming yellow,
Brightly yellow.
Shining.
Excuse me.
Inhaling next energy of the earth rising up a little higher towards our heart and our heart chakra which might be green or pink or both it's becoming illuminated.
You can visualize that any way you want.
Next in breath energy rising up towards the base of our throat our neck to our throat chakra illuminated in beautiful blue.
Breathing a little more brightly as we allow it to do so.
The energy flowing up a little further from the earth to our forehead.
A violet purple colour blooming opening there.
And then that energy flowing all the way to the top of our head to the crown of our head so a circle around the top of our head is opening a thousand petal lotus at the top of our head.
That might be white and sparkly or rainbows or however you would like to imagine that.
Resting for a moment.
And now we are charged illuminated connected with the power the energy of the earth.
We can have the courage to have a little look at some of the areas of us that are not yet illuminated.
Our darkness.
We are safe to do this.
To take a little look at some of the parts of us we don't like.
Don't acknowledge and therefore cannot control,
Influence,
Affect or heal.
So take a moment to consider what that might be for you.
You are safe to take a look.
Mother Earth is here to support you.
If something comes up can we hold it in our awareness?
And if nothing pops up straight away maybe we can sit and what's the right word?
Be prepared to receive some information on that because it's hard to see sometimes.
So it's ok if there's nothing obvious coming up maybe you can sit with your palms open and await some information on that.
Either way we can offer that darkness,
That unloved part of us our forgiveness and our forgiveness.
And we can use the Apana Apana.

Holding either something specific about ourselves that we don't like,
Don't want,
Push away or if it's more vague holding that sense that there is something and we may not yet be aware of it.
See if we can hold that metaphorically.

Maybe times in the past when we have not treated ourselves well,
Denied ourselves what we needed,
Made poor choices.

And allowing whatever comes up.

If you fear looking,

Thank you I love you.
If there is anger,
You don't like that part of you.
Forgive me.

And feeling the energy of offering ourselves this love and forgiveness.

If someone else pops into your awareness now,
Can we offer them forgiveness and love?

And feeling that too.
Resting for a moment in the energy of forgiveness and love that we have created.
Let's recall that the solstice is significant because at the time of the maximum darkness the light starts to return.
At the time when the darkness has reached its peak of its power it starts to wane.
There are cycles.
Everything moves in cycles.
Tiny ones.
Minutes and days.
Tiny ones in the soil.
In the air and our cells.
Medium cycles that are on a human scale.
Like days and years.
Water cycles.
Carbon cycles.
Energy flowing round and round.
All moving in and out of our lives.
And vast galactic scales.
Cycles that we cannot really comprehend.
That all is movement.
And the only reliable thing is change.
So sitting in the centre of that movement in peace I invite you to dream in,
In this time of change,
Dream in what you want to bring in.
Start to visualise the world you would create.
The world you will create.
Dream big.
Dream big.
Dream big.
At times like this when there is so much instability,
Your direction,
Your focus and what you want to bring in can be powerful.
And you will start to walk in the direction you face.
In the days and the weeks to come.
So set your intention for walking into the light of the new year.
Without fear that the fruits of your intentions will arrive.
Let's face that direction and put one foot in front of the other.
Let's face that direction.
