Yoga Nidra For The Spring Equinox 2025
by Amanda Lee
Welcome to this yoga nida to celebrate the spring equinox and all that Mother Nature brings forth at this time. During this practice you'll be gently guided through breath awareness, a body scan and a visualization to help you embrace the changing of the coming season, to welcome in the rebirth, renewal, and creation energy of spring. As you celebrate the birthing of this new season, may you do so with a willingness to be open to receive all that comes to you. Namaste.

Namaste.
My name is Amanda and I am so delighted that you're here practicing with me today.
Traditionally,
The spring equinox is known as a time to celebrate Mother Nature's birth of a new season after the dormancy of winter.
It's the time of year when she restores balance between light and dark,
As the spring equinox is when daylight begins to take over much of the darkness of winter.
As you prepare for today's practice,
Keep in mind that the next few moments are yours to become as comfortable as you possibly can.
Feel free to pause this recording to give yourself as much time as you require.
Be sure to turn off the notifications on your phone so you won't be disturbed.
Bring in whatever you require for complete comfort,
Such as a blanket for warmth,
A pillow under your head and neck,
And perhaps also under your knees,
An eye pillow or covering to block out unwanted light,
Headphones for optimal listening,
And anything else that you find supportive at this time.
Though yoga nidra is traditionally practiced in savasana or corpse pose,
Laying on your back,
Feet hip distance apart,
Spine in alignment,
Shoulders relaxed,
And arms comfortably at your sides with palms facing up,
Know that you can also practice in a supported sideline position or even in a supported seated position if either of those would be more suitable for you at this time.
However you choose to practice,
Ensure that you are cozy and warm.
Ensure that you are nestled in to your yoga nidra nest.
When you're ready,
Allow a breath and close down your eyes.
Your yoga nidra practice will now begin.
Breathe in through your nose,
Allowing expansion in the abdomen and lungs.
Breath coming from deep within your belly.
And then let that breath go through a slightly opened mouth with a relaxed jaw.
Continue to breathe deep,
Steady,
Slow breaths in and out.
Feel breath moving through your body and note how your body is beginning to naturally sink into a state of relaxation.
Your scalp and forehead releasing tightness.
Your lower jaw falling open.
Tongue relaxing.
Shoulders sinking.
Arms,
Hands,
And fingers loosening.
Hips and glutes unwinding.
Legs,
Feet,
And all 10 toes.
Becoming loose and lazy.
Your whole body is letting go.
Falling into stillness on the surface beneath you.
Bring your awareness now to your heart center.
Your beautiful heart pumping life throughout your body.
Connect to your heart space.
Bring in your sankalpa,
Your heart's deepest desire.
If you don't have a sankalpa that you're currently working with,
Or if you'd like a secondary one,
You might use the phrase,
I embrace change,
Growth,
And new beginnings.
I embrace change,
Growth,
And new beginnings.
Silently repeat your sankalpa to yourself for the next few moments,
Planting its seed deep within you.
I embrace change,
Growth,
And new beginnings.
You can release your sankalpa,
Knowing that we'll plant its seed once more.
Near the end of the practice.
For now,
Let your awareness follow my voice as you move seamlessly and effortlessly from one body part to the next.
Starting with your right hand,
Place your awareness onto your right hand thumb.
First finger,
Second finger,
Fourth finger,
The palm and back of your right hand,
Lower arm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Right side of the chest,
Right ribcage,
Down to the waist,
Sole and top of the right foot,
Right big toe,
Second toe,
And fifth toe.
Moving over to your left hand,
Placing your awareness onto your left hand thumb.
First finger,
Second finger,
Third,
Left side of the chest,
Left ribcage,
Sole and top of the left foot,
Left big toe,
Second toe.
Now awareness falls onto your pubic bone,
The pelvic bowl.
Awareness moving up your entire back,
Up to the right shoulder blade,
Over to the left shoulder blade,
Back of the neck,
Back of the head,
Over to the right ear,
Over to the left ear,
Back of the head,
Up to crown center,
Forehead,
Forehead,
Right eyebrow,
Both cheekbones together,
Right and left,
Bridge of the nose,
Down to the nostrils,
Throat center,
Heart center,
Heart center,
Heart center.
Now visualize yourself in a forest filled with all kinds of trees,
Evergreens,
Along with a variety of deciduous trees that are just starting to bud.
Through the trees you can feel the warmth of the sun shining brilliantly up above you.
It feels so good.
The sun warming you inside and out.
Not too hot,
Just warm enough to feel good.
You might close your eyes and enjoy a moment of gratitude for its light and warmth.
And with your eyes closed,
You might also breathe in the fragrance of spring as you listen to a bird singing nearby.
You open your eyes and marvel at all the new growth around you.
The seedlings sprouting in the grass,
Sprouting from the ground,
Buds on trees ready to burst open.
With your feet firmly planted,
Feel the coolness of the rich earth beneath you,
Cleansed from the winter thaw.
Feeling grounded,
Let your attention fall back onto your breath.
Breathing at your own pace and rhythm,
You might now visualize the energy from Mother Earth rising up through the soles of your feet with each inhale.
Filling your body with the promise of spring renewal.
The energy of the spring season filling you with each inhalation.
The energy of rebirth,
Creation,
And abundance.
And could you also visualize each exhale flowing out the soles of your feet,
Releasing back to the earth that which you no longer need,
Letting it go to be turned into something else.
With every inhale,
You receive from our abundant Mother Earth.
With each exhale,
You release to our forgiving Mother Earth.
Inhale and receive.
Exhale and release.
Inhale and receive.
Exhale and release.
Receive.
Receive.
Beautiful rhythmic movement.
Receiving.
And releasing.
Letting that go now.
Begin to feel the points of your body meeting the surface beneath you.
Feel the weight of your body laying still.
The weight of your blanket and clothes against your body.
We will now bring back your sankalpa,
Planting its seed once again deep within.
I embrace change,
Growth,
And new beginnings.
I embrace change,
Growth,
And new beginnings.
Silently repeat your sankalpa to yourself for the next few moments,
Allowing the intention to fill you,
To penetrate every cell within you.
I embrace change,
Growth,
And new beginnings.
You can release your sankalpa now and bring your awareness back to your breath.
Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
On your next inhale,
Allow two sips of air in through your nose,
Then exhale through a slightly opened mouth.
And again,
Could you allow three more breaths just like that,
At your own pace.
Return now to your natural breathing pattern.
Letting breath flow in naturally,
And flow out with ease.
As I move through the steps of bringing your awareness back to the present moment,
Know that if you'd prefer to linger in this delicious energy for a little while longer,
You can remove your headphones now,
Or press pause on this recording.
It's time to ever so slowly and gently wake the body.
Be sure to do this with ease and deep respect for the energy you've created within during this practice.
Please do not rush the process of coming back.
Let your movements be intuitive and organic.
Let your body come back to full awareness in its own way,
And in its own time.
Listen within to what your body requires right now.
Does it feel like a stretch?
Perhaps a gentle wiggle of your fingers and toes?
Or maybe your body would like to roll onto one side and lay for a little while longer.
There's no right or wrong way to do this.
Just let yourself be mindful,
And let your body move as it chooses to for the next few moments.
And as you continue to awaken,
I'd like to use this time to express my deep gratitude to you for welcoming the spring season with me today.
Again,
My name is Amanda,
And it has been my absolute honor to guide you through this yoga nidra.
Spring offers so much.
There is so much available to you.
My hope is that you know that unconditionally in your heart,
And remain open to receive all that comes forth.
As always,
I kindly ask you to please leave a comment,
Letting me know if you benefited from this practice.
Not only because I love hearing from you,
Which I truly do,
But also because your comments help others to find this offering and benefit from it as well.
May you flow through this spring season embracing change,
Growth,
And new beginnings.
Namaste.
