Dear highly sensitive soul,

Welcome to this episode where we'll be exploring the stories that may be driving your story and how to rewrite them in a way that empowers you.

My name is Aga Kura and I'm a highly sensitive person,

Coach and NLP practitioner and content creator for highly sensitive people.

In my work as a coach and NLP practitioner,

I specialize in helping highly sensitive female entrepreneurs,

Creatives and women with an immigrant background.

This exercise is designed to help you identify limiting beliefs,

Explore how they affect you and replace them with thoughts that align with the life you want to create.

Now let's get started.

Let me ask you,

Have you ever caught yourself saying things like,

I always fill in the blanks or I never fill in the blanks.

An example could be,

I always attract the wrong people or I never seem to be able to create steady success.

And while for many of us it has become a natural habit to tell ourselves these kind of stories about ourselves due to present or recurring experiences,

What we often don't realize is that we're allowing these thoughts and beliefs to make themselves at home,

Get in the driver's seat and become the drivers of our story,

Taking us on an excursion where we'll be literally seeing only evidence proving them right.

Believe me when I tell you,

I've been on this excursion more than once.

But here's the good news,

You and I can rewrite our stories.

In this guided exercise,

I'll help you identify a painful thought,

Explore its impact and create a new one that's empowering and supportive.

Let's begin by taking three deep breaths,

Inhaling through the nose and exhaling through your mouth.

Inhale.

Now I'm going to ask you to think of a painful thought that you keep telling yourself and we're looking for anything here that when you think it is causing you to feel anger,

Sadness,

Fear,

Pain or lack of inspiration or even helplessness.

As you're doing your search,

Feel free to close your eyes if you feel comfortable and safe to do so.

Take some time to do some digging,

Maybe even hit pause to this recording should you need more time and come back when you have a belief or thought that you would like to do this exercise with.

Once you have a painful thought,

I'd like to ask you the following questions.

When you tell yourself this thought,

Where do you feel its energy show up in your body?

What color is this energy?

What shape is it?

Is it moving or still?

Is it lighter or heavier than the rest of your body?

Is it cooler or warmer than the rest of your body?

Now I assume that as different as everybody's answer will be,

If we're looking at a limiting belief or painful thought,

The energy that you're feeling right now in your body is rather unpleasant.

Really take some time to notice how this belief or thought,

However you call it,

Makes you feel and answer the following questions.

What is holding on to this painful thought actually costing you?

Who would you be without this thought and what could you achieve if you decided to let it go?

What would be a belief or a thought that you'd rather have instead?

And even if you think that that thought you'd rather have isn't true for you right now in this very moment,

Or have a problem imagining or believing it,

Just go along for the sake of this exercise and see what happens.

And my last question to you,

Are you willing to consider another belief,

Another thought,

That will serve you more in seeing the results that you want to see in your life?

And if the answer is yes,

I want to invite you to now come up with another belief,

Another thought that you'd like to exchange for this limiting belief and painful thought that you've been holding on to.

And just as before,

Feel free to hit pause and do some digging and searching before coming back to this exercise.

Now that you've come up with a more resourceful belief or thought,

Let me ask you,

When you repeat this thought or belief to yourself,

How does that feel in your body?

And without knowing anything about you or your circumstances,

My guess is that this energy is way different from the one created by the painful thought that we explored before.

Would you agree that feeling the way you feel when you're thinking this new thought is probably going to benefit you more than feeling the way you felt while holding on to a painful thought or limiting belief?

Even if it's new and you may feel strange talking to yourself in this uplifting way,

Believe me,

Just the change of energy in your body is already benefiting you.

Imagine for a moment wearing a new pair of beautiful shoes and even though you've bought them in your size,

It feels strange at first to wear them until you fully grow into them and make them yours.

And now when you're ready,

Go ahead,

Wiggle your toes and your fingers,

Open your eyes and come back to this present moment.

I'd like to leave you with these thoughts.

Remember the stories you tell yourself are powerful.

The biggest favor you can do yourself when you catch yourself thinking a thought that is painful and maybe even stopping you to pursue your goals,

Is to first become aware of it and to realize that you have a choice to make here.

Are you going to continue feeding it or is it maybe time to plant and feed another seed in the form of a belief that is more aligned with a life you'd actually love to create for yourself?

And this my friend is the beginning of every journey towards healing.
