Hi Lovely,

My name is Ingrid and welcome to your meditation.

Go ahead and set yourself up,

Getting nice and comfortable.

Using whatever props you'd like,

You're always welcome to do this practice in a comfortable seat or make your way lying down on your back.

Once you're nice and comfortable,

Go ahead and take any last few movements here.

You might wriggle the fingers and toes or roll the shoulders up and back down.

And then when you're ready,

Start to soften the gaze or close down the eyes.

For the next few minutes,

Give yourself the permission to be fully here in your practice.

We'll use our breath as an anchor,

So start to take a breath in nice and deep,

Breathing out the nose or the mouth.

Deep breath.

Now deepen the next inhale,

Lengthen out the exhale.

And now take the deepest breath you've taken all day,

Filling the lungs nice and full to the top.

Hold it at the top if you can,

Then sigh it out.

Gently come back to that natural rhythm of your breath and know that there's nowhere else you need to go,

There's nothing else you need to do.

Just breathe.

Turning inwards,

Perhaps you start to notice the rise and fall of your chest.

Maybe you feel the ribs expanding and then contracting.

Maybe you feel the clothes resting against your skin or the textures of the props beneath you.

Our practice today is inspired by a quote from Wayne Dyer,

Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.

This quote reminds us that we always have the power and the choice to shape how we see the world around us.

When we have a tough day,

Everything can start to look heavy or negative.

But when our hearts feel light or uplifted,

We often see goodness everywhere.

When we shift the way we look at things,

Life can become more colourful,

More interesting,

Like we've turned the brightness back up.

So let yourself stay open,

Stay curious and allow yourself to see the world from different angles.

Let's start to take a slow,

Easy breath in and a long,

Relaxed breath out.

With the eyes closed,

Can you picture yourself standing before a large,

Open window?

Outside is a familiar scene,

Perhaps your garden,

A quiet street or a vast,

Open field.

As you look out the window,

You notice something unusual.

Everything you see is just one colour.

Maybe it's grey,

Or blue,

Or sepia,

Almost as if the whole world has been washed in a single tone.

You can still make out shapes and movement,

But it feels flat,

Muted,

Almost even lifeless.

This is what happens when we fixate on only seeing one way of things,

When our mind narrows in on what's wrong,

What's missing,

Or what's hard.

And it's not that the world has lost its beauty,

It's that our focus has dimmed it.

So let's take a breath here.

And on the exhale,

Imagine the lens of your perception beginning to soften.

Picture a second colour beginning to return,

Very light,

Very faint at first,

But real.

Then another,

Perhaps soft golds and gentle greens start to shimmer into view.

With each breath you take,

More hues awaken.

The warmth of sunlight,

The blush of flowers,

The deep blues of the sky.

With each breath,

The world grows more vibrant,

More alive.

You can almost feel the air move,

Smell the earth,

And sense the hum of life all around you.

Remember,

Nothing outside of you has changed,

Only your way of seeing.

Now bring this same awareness inwards.

Notice your inner world,

Your thoughts,

Your emotions,

Your memories.

Are there parts of yourself you've only been seeing in one colour?

Maybe an old story,

A single perspective,

Or a belief that's been playing on repeat.

With a gentle breath,

Imagine inviting more shades into that inner landscape.

Compassion,

Curiosity,

Courage,

Gratitude.

Each one adding depth and light.

Can you let your inner world bloom into a full spectrum,

Vibrant,

Whole,

And alive?

Take a few slow,

Steady breaths here,

Resting in the spaciousness.

This is the power of perspective.

Not forcing positivity,

Not denying what's real,

But allowing yourself to see the whole picture,

Not just one part of it.

When you're ready,

Take a deep breath in,

And let it go completely.

Feel the colours of this meditation linger within you.

A reminder that you can always shift your gaze and see the world with fresh eyes.

Gently blinking,

Open the eyes when you're ready.

May the world around you feel just a little more colourful than before.

From my heart to yours,

Namaste,

And thank you for tuning in as I record this meditation from my backyard next to the creek.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Namaste.
