If something about the title of this meditation spoke to you,

No matter how you identify or if you're questioning,

Please know that I'm happy you're here.

Maybe you're sitting right now with the painful experience of your bisexual identity being dismissed,

Invalidated,

Or erased.

Maybe you're carrying a sense of not belonging in straight or queer spaces,

Questioning who you are,

Or worrying that your identity is in some way not enough.

Whatever your experience,

You are not alone.

So many bisexual people know the pain of not feeling fully seen,

Understood,

Or accepted for all of who they are.

So many people know the shame,

Loneliness,

And anxiety that can come with these experiences.

This meditation is designed to help you begin to heal this pain and feel the truth in your body that you are enough,

Exactly as you are,

That you belong,

And that you are the expert on your own identity and experience.

This meditation is designed to be relaxing,

So please do not listen while driving.

To begin,

Find your way into a comfortable as possible position.

Let your body settle,

Maybe closing your eyes or softening the gaze downwards.

Take a moment to take in a few deep,

Soothing breaths.

On each in-breath,

You might imagine your heart space opening and expanding,

Creating so much room for all of who you are.

In this moment,

All of who you are can be witnessed and held.

On each long,

Slow out-breath,

You might allow yourself to release any explanations or justifications of who you are.

In this moment,

No explanations are needed.

Letting the breath return to its natural rhythm,

Take a moment to gently acknowledge what it feels like to have your identity questioned or erased or to feel like there's not room for the fullness of who you are.

Maybe you felt invisible or on the outside when you longed to connect.

Maybe you've been told that bisexuality isn't real,

Heard jokes about by people,

Or had someone act like they knew the truth about your identity and you were just confused.

Maybe you're in a relationship or married and you've had people define your sexuality based on your current partner's gender.

Maybe you've absorbed so many invalidating messages that you even question yourself.

Notice which areas of the body hold the pain of these experiences.

Maybe the chest,

The throat,

The stomach,

Or somewhere else.

Place a gentle hand wherever you feel this pain the most.

Notice the calming,

Grounding warmth of your own touch.

Take a deep breath into this area,

Allowing the breath to soothe and comfort this pain.

You might send compassion to the part of you that has been hurt,

Imagining the compassion as a warm light or energy that can embrace this hurting part of you.

Feel the truth in your body that you've never deserved those words.

You've never deserved to be made invisible or judged.

Some people may want to box you in for their own comfort.

That has never had anything to do with you or your truth.

You've always deserved to be seen and celebrated for exactly who you are.

Even as the world or your own thoughts may question your identity,

Your deepest self knows who you are.

Notice how your body responds as you continue to send yourself gentleness and compassion as best you can.

Notice which areas might begin to feel a bit more warmth,

Softness,

Or ease.

Now,

Let's help your body continue to release any tension that may have come from having to defend your identity,

Maybe even to yourself.

Starting with the top of your head,

Imagine any stress about proving yourself melting away like warm honey.

Imagine soothing,

Healing energy flowing down over your forehead,

Releasing any tension or worry.

Flowing over your eyes,

Letting them soften.

Around your jaw,

Loosening.

Let this warmth flow down your shoulders,

Releasing the weight of expectations.

Down your arms and into your hands,

Allowing them to hang loose.

Feel this warmth flowing through your chest,

Expanding the heart space,

Releasing any tightness from having to hide or minimize parts of yourself.

Breathing deeper into this expansion,

Allowing the healing energy to continue to flow down through your stomach,

Allowing it to soften and relax.

Blowing into your hips and upper legs,

Allowing the energy to continue to flow down your calves,

Loosening the muscles.

Blowing into your feet,

Which soften,

Securely rooted in the ground beneath you.

Take a moment to notice how your body feels now.

Notice any areas with more spaciousness,

More ease.

And simply allow your body to exist exactly as it is.

Secure,

Grounded and steady.

From this place of relaxation and grounding,

I invite you to connect with the deepest,

Wisest part of you.

This part knows who you are.

This part needs no outside affirmation because the knowing runs deeper than that.

This part of you exists beneath all the noise,

Beneath the questioning and beneath the doubt.

Breathe into this part of yourself,

Feeling its strength and steadiness.

From this connected place,

From this inner knowing,

You are ready to receive some healing truths.

Take a moment to repeat these affirmations to yourself,

Either silently or out loud.

You're welcome to make any changes to the words that feel most right and most affirming to you.

You are bisexual enough,

No matter what your relationship history is.

Your attraction to multiple genders is real and valid.

You belong in queer spaces.

You belong in your community.

You belong.

Your bisexuality doesn't disappear based on who you're dating or who you've married.

It's a constant part of who you are.

You don't have to be equally attracted to all genders at all times to be bisexual.

If your sexuality tends to be fluid and you experience it differently at different times,

That's a valid way of being bisexual.

You don't owe anyone an explanation for your identity.

Your inner experience is enough.

Your sexuality is expansive and beautiful.

Choose the affirmation that feels most healing to you.

Repeat that to yourself a few times to let it begin to settle deeply into your body.

Imagine you're talking directly to the part of you that is most needing to feel seen,

Heard,

Understood,

And valued.

Notice any subtle shifts within that part of yourself that shows your words are beginning to be received.

As we begin to bring this meditation to a close,

Take a moment to notice what you'd like to carry with you from this experience.

Whether that's clarity,

Self-acceptance,

Self-compassion,

Or healing,

A felt sense in your body,

Words that resonate,

Or something else.

Imagine these fruits of your meditation practice accompanying you throughout the rest of your day as a quiet,

Steady presence.

Now,

As you begin to bring your awareness back to the room around you,

Take one final deep breath,

Breathing in that steadiness,

And on the exhale,

Feeling yourself fully anchored in this moment,

Your feet connected to the earth beneath you,

Grounded and present.

And continuing to bring more awareness back to the light coming through your eyelids,

Maybe wiggling fingers and toes,

Or giving yourself a stretch.

And when you're ready,

Slowly opening your eyes.

Thank you for meditating with me today.
