Settle in for this yoga nidra intended to revitalize your energy throughout the day,

Taking any last adjustments to make sure your body is completely supported by the ground,

Take a deep breath and allow your mind to settle.
In this moment,
Reflect on anything that has been consuming your energy.
Perhaps a thought,
A feeling or a worry.
Imagine gathering this energy up inside of you,
Bundling it up into a small ball within.
Now envision a crystal bowl of water inside of you.
The shimmering water is pure and cleansing.
Pour these thoughts and feelings into the bowl,
Watching them dissolve.
Gently place this bowl outside your body and mind for the remainder of the practice.
You can always come back to them,
But for now you are free from their weight.
Now begin to connect with your breath.
Can you hear its rhythm?
Can you feel its pace?
Gradually allowing the breath to become more fluid,
More continuous.
There is no beginning,
No end,
Just the seamless flow of inhales moving into exhales.
Let the space between your breath dissolve and notice how it becomes like an endless river.

Nourishing every part of your being.
The awareness rests completely on the breath for the next moment.

We will now begin our body scan,
Allowing the cognitive mind to soften as we pour our awareness into deeper connection within the body.
Let your awareness begin to drift from the crown of the head,
Down through your body,
Tracing through the neck,
The chest,
Belly,
Pelvis,
Upper legs,
Lower legs and soles of the feet.
Feel the connection to the earth.
Now bring your awareness back up,
Traveling slowly through the soles of the feet,
Lower legs,
Upper legs,
Pelvis,
Belly,
Chest,
Neck and returning to the crown of the head.
The center of your body feels open like a clear river channel,
Allowing energy to flow effortlessly.
Gently drift your attention to the right thumb,
Then to the first finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger and little finger.
Relax the palm of the hand.
The right wrist softens as your awareness drifts up through the right forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm and shoulder.
Imagine a warm current of water flowing through your right arm,
Softening every muscle and joint.
The entire right arm feels light and free.
Gently drift your attention to the left thumb,
Then to the first finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger and little finger.
Relax the palm of the left hand as you feel the wrist soften.
Let your awareness drift up through the forearm,
Let your awareness drift up through the forearm,
The elbow,
Upper arm and shoulder.
Imagine a warm current of water flowing through your left arm,
Softening every muscle and joint.
The entire left arm feels light and free.
Your attention flows down the central channel of the body once again.
Crown of the head,
The neck,
Chest,
Belly and pelvis all soften.
Ripples of relaxation are massaging your entire torso.
You are completely supported here,
Surrendering more deeply into relaxation.
Move your awareness to the right upper leg,
Feeling it soften and release.
Allow this wave of relaxation to flow down to the knee,
To the shin,
Ankle,
Top of the foot,
Sole of the foot.
Imagine the sole of your foot connecting with the earth,
A continuous stream of energy from the body.
Each toe softens and the entire right leg feels light,
At ease,
As energy flows freely through it.
Move your awareness to the left upper leg,
Feeling it soften and release.
Allow this wave of relaxation to flow down to the knee,
To the shin,
Ankle,
Top of the foot and sole of the foot.
Imagine the sole of your foot connecting with the earth,
A continuous stream of energy from the body.
Each toe softens and the entire left leg feels light,
At ease,
As energy flows freely through it.
Returning your awareness to the central channel of your body As your awareness flows upward,
Let the pelvis,
Belly,
Chest and neck soften.
Feel the crown of your head expand as ripples of relaxation massage your mind.
You are completely supported here,
Surrendering more deeply into relaxation.
Allow the awareness to drift to your forehead as it softens,
Followed by the eyelids,
Cheekbones and jaw.
Allow the jaw to part ways slightly,
Feeling the release of any tension.
Relaxation seeps down both sides of the face,
Into the neck,
Drifting down to the chest.
The upper body is soft and relaxed,
Floating in this supported and surrendered state.
The lower body is equally soft and at ease.
Take a few moments to savour this feeling of lightness and fluidity.
Imagine the crystal clear water flowing through every cell,
Carrying away all that is no longer needed.
Your body is revitalised,
Your energy is replenished.
You are completely supported and surrendered.
And your breath is drifting you into deeper states of relaxation.

Or slowly begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment.
