Your voice,
Your choice,
Your power.
My name is Veronica Pereira Carrillo,
Welcome to this guided meditation.
Together we'll take a gentle step forward,
Finding your voice and speaking up for yourself.
Have you ever held back words?
Not because you had nothing to say,
But because you weren't sure they would be welcomed?
How often have you held back words?
Have you ever felt the need to translate yourself before speaking?
Your tone,
Your emotions,
Your way of being.
How often have you felt you needed to translate yourself?
Have you ever stayed silent to avoid conflict,
Misunderstanding,
Or being seen as too much?
How many times have you stayed silent to avoid conflict?
Have you ever noticed how your body responds when you want to speak,
But choose not to?
How often have you noticed it?
And,
Have you ever wondered what it might be like to speak from yourself,
Without apology,
Without fear,
Without walking on eggshells?
Find a comfortable position.
You may sit or lie down.
Allow your body to be supported.
Gently close your eyes and soften your gaze.
Bring your attention to your breath,
Inhale and exhale.
There is nothing to perform,
Nothing to explain,
Nothing to justify.
Let your shoulders drop,
Soften the jaw,
Unclench the tongue.
Many of us learned early to speak carefully,
To speak less,
To speak only when invited.
Some learned to translate themselves before speaking,
To simplify,
To soften,
To make themselves easier to hear.
Notice how this lives in your body,
Perhaps in the throat,
The chest,
The belly.
Breathe into that place.
No need to change it.
Just notice.
Speaking for yourself does not always mean speaking louder.
It means speaking from yourself,
From what you feel,
From what you know,
From what matters to you.
Silence can be a refuge,
It can be protection,
It can be wisdom.
And sometimes silence is something we learned before we had a choice.
Today,
We are not forcing words,
We are restoring choice.
Bring attention to your throat,
Not as a channel to push through,
But as a space to inhabit.
Imagine your voice as presence,
Not volume,
Not performance,
Presence.
Silently repeat at your own pace,
I have a right to speak for myself.
My voice does not need permission.
I can choose when to speak and when to be silent.
I am allowed to take space.
I am allowed to be clear.
I am allowed to be heard.
Notice any sensations that arise.
Warmth,
Tightness,
Emotion,
Or nothing at all.
All of it belongs.
Now take a slow,
Deep breath,
And another.
Feel your body here,
Grounded,
Present.
And when you are ready,
Gently return,
Carrying with you the possibility of speaking from yourself.
