We tend to make love very complicated—big, emotional, dramatic, and often exhausting. We look for it in people, outcomes, approval, or moments going “just right.” In this meditation, we gently explore a simpler truth: love isn’t something we have to find, earn, or summon. It’s already here—moving through us in the quiet moments we often overlook. The warmth of resting instead of pushing. The softness of a deep breath in the sun. The kindness of pausing rather than reacting. Rather than striving to feel more love, this practice invites you to notice how often love is already expressing itself—through ease, presence, and subtle warmth. Meditation becomes a turning inward, not to create something new, but to recognize what’s always been flowing. This practice includes a short reflective dharma talk, a centering thought, a gentle breath-paired mantra, and spacious silence to rest in awareness.

Welcome to today's Rooted Growth Meditation.

Today's meditation is called,

Maybe Love is Showing Up More Often Than You Think.

So,

When we talk about love,

We tend to make it very complicated,

Big,

Emotional,

Sometimes dramatic,

Occasionally even exhausting.

We often think that love has to be romantic,

Passionate,

Or at least involve someone else behaving properly.

But what if we're really overthinking it?

What if love is actually showing up all the time?

Maybe when we feel complete in the moment,

Warm,

Comfortable in stillness,

The quiet kindness of letting yourself rest instead of getting up and fixing or doing one more thing,

The feeling that when you turn your head towards the sun and you walk outside and you just see that sun,

Turn your head up towards it and breathe in deeply that moment of warmth,

That counts.

We don't usually call those moments love.

We call them gratitude.

We call them relief.

Maybe even,

Thank God that's over.

But what if every warm feeling,

No matter how subtle,

Every moment of completeness is really love expressing itself through us?

Many of us,

I certainly did,

Spent a lot of years looking for love in all the wrong places.

And if I'm honest,

I was pretty creative where I was looking.

People,

Need for approval,

Over-focusing on outcomes,

Controlling things that were out of my control,

Which,

By the way,

Is just about everything,

None of which have a very great long-term return policy.

But meditation gently redirects us,

Not outward,

Not the grasping and the searching and the scratching,

But inward.

Not to manufacture what love is supposed to look like,

But to notice it.

To notice it.

Because love isn't something we have to summon.

It's already happening.

Every time we soften instead of harden.

Every time we pause instead of react.

Every time we're just a little kinder than necessary.

That smile in the food store.

That recognition that if I am peaceful,

If I am loving,

That's an amazing contribution.

Maybe that's love doing what love does.

So today,

We're not trying to feel more love.

My invitation is just to get a little bit curious about how often love is already showing up,

Especially on ordinary days.

So let's prepare for our meditation.

Please find a comfortable seat.

Rest your hands gently in your lap and softly close your eyes.

Now let's go within to that place of inner quiet where we experience our connection to our higher self.

Begin to observe the inflow and outflow of your breath.

And with each inflow and outflow,

Allow yourself to become more relaxed,

More comfortable,

More at peace.

Take your seat of quiet dignity.

Let's consider our centering thought for today's meditation.

Love is not something I search for.

Love is something already moving through me.

Love is not searching something I search for.

It's something already moving through me.

Hold that softly in your heart.

And now I'll introduce today's mantra.

Inhale,

Love is here.

Exhale,

I feel it flow.

Love is here.

I feel it flow.

Love is here.

I feel it flow.

Please continue with your meditation.

I'll mind the time,

Starting and ending with a soft bell.

It's time to gently release the mantra.

Sit restfully for a few moments.

And when you feel ready,

Allow your eyes to open slowly.

And bring the light of this practice back into your day.

As you move through your day,

Let's carry our centering thought with you.

Love is not something I search for.

It's something already moving through me.

Love is not something I search for.

It's something already moving through me.

Thank you so much for your practice today.

May the calm you've cultivated here continue to support and steady you through whatever comes next.
