Today I invite you to enter this space and surrender to the peace and tranquility it offers.
Learning to surrender can be challenging.
It can be challenging to learn how to release and surrender when we are unsure of where to begin.
My wish for you right now is to find the courage to let go and find peace,
Which is a type of surrender.
To begin this process of surrendering,
Let's determine the most comfortable position for you whether it's sitting upright or lying down.
Once you have settled,
Concentrate on your breathing by taking a deep breath in through the nose and releasing it out through the mouth.
Continue this pattern of inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.
And if you haven't already,
Soften your gaze or close your eyes.
By releasing our breath and relaxing our eyes,
We are beginning to let go.
Sometimes it can be difficult for us to stay still during meditation and we often doubt our sessions because we don't feel like we're doing it correctly.
My darling,
Release any judgment in this moment.
This is about practicing surrender,
Letting go of self-judgments we often place on ourselves.
Losing focus or distraction should not be seen as a setback because the purpose of this meditation is to be fully present with our thoughts.
So allow your thoughts to come and then release them.
Sitting in stillness requires practice and it is common to face resistance.
This may lead us to feel like we are struggling and not succeeding,
Which can make us want to give up.
If you are currently experiencing these feelings,
Return your attention to your breath.
Concentrate on breathing in and breathing out.
Strength lies in the moment of stillness.
In this moment,
You are strengthening your mind.
You are embracing the calmness and releasing your thoughts as they come and go,
Like clouds passing over the sun.
Self-discovery involves observing your own experiences while actively participating in them and you,
My darling,
You're doing just that.
Rumi writes,
Try something different,
Surrender.
As you are surrendering,
You may ask yourself,
What actions can I take right now to release even further?
It could be as simple as taking a deep breath and exhaling,
Or maybe it's easing the tension in your shoulders and hands or in your legs and feet.
Now I'd like you to picture a shimmering gold light beginning to rise from within you.
Watch as it slowly emerges and drifts away.
See it floating up into the sky above you,
Gradually fading away.
Sense a sense of freedom and relief as you allow yourself to release this light.
This golden light symbolizes the strength of surrender,
Freeing you from the weights of holding on to things you believe you should release.
As it rises upon the sparkling golden light above you,
It is a delight to feel lighter and liberated.
Inhale deeply,
Then exhale slowly,
And take note of the difference from where you started.
It is so satisfying to release and relinquish things that no longer benefit us.
Taking time to be present and practice mindfulness is truly wonderful.
If you feel compelled,
Recite this mantra silently to yourself after I say it out loud.
I accept what is,
Let go of what was,
And have faith in what will be.
Take one final breath in and release it slowly,
And then begin to awaken yourself by gently wiggling your fingers and toes,
And open your eyes when you're ready.
