Welcome to this meditation for overstimulated students.
I'm here to guide you to a space of peace,
A moment to regroup and recharge in the midst of your studies.
Now let's take a moment to close your eyes and settle into a comfortable position.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale fully through your mouth.
Allow yourself to arrive in this moment letting go of all thoughts that may enter your mind.
Now let's calm the mind and body with a simple breathing exercise.
I'm going to give you a few instructions.
So first inhale deeply for a count of four,
Hold your breath for four,
And then exhale slowly for a count of six.
We'll repeat this for three cycles.
With each breath be sure to imagine releasing the tension and overstimulation,
Letting go of the demands of your mind,
And creating space for peace and clarity.
So let's begin.
Inhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Exhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Inhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Exhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Inhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Exhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
And six.
Fully releasing all the breath from your body and just gently settle into this moment.
Now picture yourself sitting in a tranquil meadow.
The air is fresh and a gentle breeze soothes your skin.
Above you the sky is vast and open,
Reminding you of the limitless possibilities for calm and clarity within you.
Visualize a soft golden light shining from the sky,
Enveloping you in warmth and comfort.
This light carries peace,
Focus,
And balance,
Washing away any feelings of stress or overwhelm.
Feel it gently flowing through your mind,
Softening the edges of your thoughts,
And through your body,
Relaxing each muscle and nerve.
Imagine this light forming a protective bubble around you,
A sanctuary of sorts where you can think clearly,
Focus,
And be present without distractions.
Now let's take a moment to repeat these affirmations,
Either silently or out loud.
I release what I cannot control and embrace the peace within.
I am capable,
Calm,
And focused in all that I do.
With each breath,
I invite clarity and let go of overwhelm.
I have all the time and space I need to succeed.
My mind is clear and focused,
Ready to handle the challenges ahead.
Let these words settle into your heart.
Feel the truth of them anchoring you into this moment of calm.
Now take another deep breath in and fully exhale,
And bring your awareness back to your body,
Back to the present.
Begin to slowly wiggle your fingers and your toes,
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes,
Bringing yourself back to conscious awareness.
You should feel peace,
You should feel ease.
Carry this sense with you.
Remember,
You have the power to pause,
Breathe,
And reconnect with your calm center at any point in time.
While you strive for your academic and career goals,
Be mindful of your whole self.
You are worthy of the restorative power of rest.
Happy studying!
