Hi this is Rachel with Resilience Yoga and welcome to this meditation for anxiety.
This is a relaxing meditation so I invite you to surrender your anxious ways and be connected to the real you.
This is a really delightful relaxation session and I'd like you to remember that natural feeling that it's always within you it's just waiting for you to access it.
Find yourself a comfortable position and gently close your eyes.
Allow your arms to rest softly by the sides of your body and if you can facing your palms upwards towards the sky.
Allow your legs to relax let the tips of your feet fall slightly outward and give your body permission to be calm but at the same time keep your mind awake and present so that you can listen to this meditation.
Take a deep breath in now and then let go as you breathe out.
Gently become aware of your feet let them relax completely.
Breathing in imagine that you can send love all the way to the tips of your toes.
As you breathe out smile at them.
Inhale and become aware of your legs and as you exhale let each leg fully relax.
Try to let go of any tension that may still be in your legs.
Feel them sink softly into the ground beneath you.
As you breathe in send all your love to your legs and as you breathe out gently smile at them.
Now bring your awareness to your hands.
Let go of any tension you may still be holding in your hands.
Focus on each finger of your left hand.
The thumb,
The index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger and the little finger.
Now focus on the right hand.
The thumb,
The index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger and the little finger.
Feel the joy of your two hands and let all of them relax.
Breathe in and guide your awareness to your arms.
As you exhale allow the arms to relax thoroughly.
Let them rest completely free of any tension and feel with each breath how the muscles in your arms can melt deeper and deeper.
Breathing in now send all your love to your arms and your hands.
As you breathe out gently smile at them.
Now take your awareness to your shoulders and as you breathe out release any tension you may be carrying in your shoulder blades.
Send them some tenderness and care and let them relax completely.
On your next inhale guide your attention to your back.
As you exhale release the tension that you might be holding.
Allow stress to abandon your body back into the ground beneath you letting go of any weight you might be carrying.
Breathing in send all of your love to your back and your shoulders.
Breathing out bring a gentle smile to them with gratitude.
Now turn your attention to your heart in the center of your chest.
As you exhale let your heart calm and rest.
Remind yourself that your heart is always there for you every minute every hour every day.
With each breath bring more relaxation to your heart.
Release any feelings of woe.
As you inhale now send some love to your heart and with your exhalation gently smile with gratitude.
On your next breath in guide your attention to your face.
Exhaling let each muscle of your face relax completely.
As you do so melting away your worries release any tension around the mouth any tension around the eyes and the forehead.
Let your eyes relax and rest within the sockets.
Breathing in become fully aware of your whole entire body.
As you breathe out enjoy that sensation of your body and notice how it is completely relaxed and tranquil.
On your next breath in send love and compassion to your whole body.
Exhale and bring that gentle smile to your entire body.
Be aware of the wonderful self healing ability that works in your body.
Your loving attention supports it and provides a space for total regeneration.
Feel a sense of gratitude for every single cell in your body.
As you do so see if you can let your body relax just a little bit more deeply.
Continue to take nice breaths in and out.
Respect the nature of your full breath.
Now begin to visualize that you are outside gazing up at the night sky.
You are far out where the night sky is dark perhaps somewhere down a long winding country road.
In the distance you may be able to see the city lights glowing with warmth but you cannot hear the sounds of the city or you can hear the sounds of nature around you.
Maybe a few crickets or the occasional frog.
I invite you to travel down this road even further until when you gaze up at the night sky you can no longer see those city lights on the horizon.
As you're traveling into nature you come to a wide and secluded glade.
A perfect meadow that's big enough to allow a full incredible view of the night sky above you.
In the middle of this there's one tree an old giant oak.
As you become aware of this tree you also see that this tree holds a city of fireflies each one of them flickering their light for you.
Walk over to this tree now and take a seat somewhere near the tree.
As you do so start to feel the energy of life that it holds under the sky.
Focus back in on what is around you and any sounds of nature that you may be able to hear.
Feel a sense of peace and stillness that it's just you and the sky above.
Imagine how far away all the daily things in your life are from here.
Feel a disconnection from the hustle and the bustle of life and feel a deep connection as if it were a blank canvas waiting for your color.
This is a space where you can relax and be yourself.
Take a deep breath through your nose and smile and as you exhale breathe out through your open mouth with a long deep sigh.
See the stress disappearing and melting away along with any chaos you left behind in the city.
When you're in this hidden place there is no time or space for any bad emotions or feelings or memories they simply cannot exist here.
It's time to enjoy the silence.
The only thing you can hear is the sound of your breath and the only things you can see are the stars above you.
In this space you feel blessed,
You feel at peace and you feel grateful for this hidden place that you can call your own.
Repeat this affirmation to yourself.
I am safe.
I am in peace.
I disconnect from what no longer serves me.
I melt with silence.
I am safe.
I am in peace.
I disconnect from what no longer serves me.
I melt with silence.
In this place fully connect with the real you,
The one who has been hiding,
The one that is often too busy to just stop and recharge.
Connect with yourself now and feel that sense of clarity.
You are your true self complete,
Whole and here.
You can use this scene at any time to come back to that place of tranquility and silence,
To be totally you,
To enjoy the beauty of your presence here and now.
Gently return your awareness to the present situation,
Bringing back an authentic existence and as you do so gently open your eyes and return to the day around you.
