Every day, the world has agendas, requests, and demands for us. When we set our agenda, starting with tuning into ourselves, we tap into our power first and prepare to face the outside world more grounded and clear. This 5-minute meditation will begin with breathwork and an essential inquiry to direct the mind for your day. Let's anchor your agenda and power up for the day ahead.

Hi.

Thank you for being here.

My name is Sari.

This is a five-minute meditation designed to power up your day.

This short practice has two parts.

First,

We will turn inward and cultivate more focus for the day ahead.

Then,

We will turn our minds outward and approach our day intentionally.

Let's begin.

Take a moment to set yourself up,

Whether you are seated or lying down.

Begin to come into your body.

Feel the earth beneath you,

Your seat connecting and grounding.

Start to feel the body lengthen out,

Perhaps through the crown of the head or out through the feet.

Feel your shoulders expand outward and your spine getting longer.

As we begin to become more aware of our body,

Let's take a breath in to feel the new day.

Inhale deeply.

And on the exhale,

Release what came before this moment.

Again,

Let's breathe in fresh oxygen into our bodies.

And exhale,

Let go of anything that doesn't serve this moment.

We'll continue to breathe easy and I'll give you some space to find your own natural breathing rhythm.

Now that we are into our breath,

Let's add a measured cadence.

We're going to give our brain one single thing to do.

So now,

Let's breathe in for the count of one,

Two,

Three.

And let's breathe out for three,

Two,

One.

Let's repeat.

Breathe in for one,

Two,

Three.

And breathe out for three,

Two,

One.

Let's repeat this on our own.

And allow your body to relax as you do this one single focus task.

Now allow the breath to just shift into the background.

And let's take this into our day.

Ask yourself in this moment,

How am I feeling?

And as you let the honest answers come in,

Let them land the deep breath without trying to fix or change them.

By turning in and asking ourselves how we feel,

We begin this day by caring about and honoring ourselves in the face of agendas,

Demands,

And responsibilities.

This simple question can remind us of our agency over ourselves.

We can choose how we will engage with the world today.

So on that note,

How do you want to show up for today?

What kind of energy do you want to bring?

Take a deep breath as you let that answer land within you.

What are you excited about for today?

What are the parts of the day that you are looking forward to?

Let's name them.

Take a deep breath in to greet those answers.

And finally,

How can you make an impact today?

We are all change makers.

And what is a small footprint that you want to make today?

Take another deep breath in and exhale out.

Let's return to our day.

Take one final breath,

Breathe in and out.

Thank you so much for dropping in.
