Hello,
This is the Teen Star and today we're talking about moving through grief with a broken heart.
If your heart is breaking,
If you're grieving what you've lost,
This meditation is going to be perfect for you.
Because we're going to hold space for your pain,
We're going to honor your grief and we're going to begin the healing process.
So what I want you to do is find a comfortable position that's right for you and when you're ready we're going to place both hands over our heart.
Now,
I want you to take a couple deep breaths with me and allow yourself to feel everything in this moment.
Let's inhale,
Hold,
And exhale.
Let's do that again.
Inhale with me,
Hold for a count of four,
And exhale.
First off,
I want you to acknowledge what you've lost.
Maybe you lost a relationship,
Maybe you lost a version of yourself,
Or maybe it's a dream that you have now had to let go of.
Don't minimize it.
Don't tell yourself you should be over it by now.
Now,
Just feel it in this moment and allow those emotions to come how they are.
Allow those feelings,
Without judgment,
To rise and fall.
It's okay to be sad.
It's okay to grieve,
Because this hurt is real and it deserves to be felt fully.
Now,
I want you to bring your awareness to your heart.
Your physical heart in the center of your chest.
I want you to feel your heart beating.
Can you feel it working,
Even though it may be broken?
Your heart is still here.
Your heart is still beating,
Still loving,
Even though it's experiencing all of this pain.
I want you to imagine your heart as a garden,
And right now,
There's a storm passing through.
All the beautiful flowers,
They're bent,
They're hunched over from the rain soaking them.
The ground,
The soil,
It's muddy.
But the roots are still there,
And the soil is still fertile.
And like all storms,
This one too will pass.
And when it does,
New things will begin to grow.
Different things,
But beautiful things.
Now,
I want you to cry if you feel you need to.
Give yourself permission to let the tears come,
Because tears are healing.
They're how our body releases grief.
With each tear,
Imagine you're releasing a piece of the pain.
Not forgetting,
Not erasing,
Not removing the love that you had.
Just releasing the weight of carrying this alone.
And when you breathe,
I want you to focus on when you inhale,
You're absorbing compassion for yourself.
And when you exhale,
You're releasing that heartbreak.
So with every breath,
You are healing.
You're not broken,
You're not damaged.
Your heart is just cracked open.
And through those cracks,
More light can get in.
Now,
I want you to call your energy back to yourself.
All the love you gave to someone else.
All the pieces of yourself you may have left in that relationship.
I want you to call that energy back.
You are welcome to repeat what I'm about to say,
Out loud or in your mind.
I call all of my energy back to me now.
I am whole.
Feel that energy rushing back into your spirit.
It's completely filling you up and you are no longer empty.
You are full of love for yourself.
And as your hands are still placed over your heart,
I want you to say,
I am healing.
I am worthy of love.
And I am going to be okay.
It may not feel like it right now,
But this heartbreak is making you stronger.
This heartbreak is making you wiser.
And more compassionate.
Though it may feel like it,
This heartbreak is not destroying you.
It's transforming you.
So I want to take one final breath together.
Inhale.
Hold.
And exhale.
And when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
Your heart is healing and you are going to love again.
And yes,
It will be different.
But this time,
It will be deeper.
I want you to trust that going forward.
And know that though you are in the storm,
You will make it through.
And if you ever have grieving or heartache,
You can always return to this meditation.
So that you can release that grief and continue to heal your heartbreak.

You are choosing yourself and your healing.
And that is powerful.
