This meditation is here to support you in times of isolation,
Separation or feelings of loneliness.
We all have moments when it feels like we're moving against the grain or we're struggling to connect to ourselves or those around us.
This meditation is here as a friend for those times when you're feeling small,
Insignificant or alone.
Take a moment to give your body the gift of rest.
Find any position that supports your comfort,
Doesn't matter what it looks like.
See if you can allow yourself to be 5% more comfortable and if it feels comfortable and safe enough to close the eyes,
Allowing the windows of the eyes to close.
In turbulent times it's so easy to forget the vastness and intrinsic interconnectedness that comes with being a human with a physical body.
If it feels comfortable to rest one or both of your hands on your torso then you're invited to do so.
And as you breathe,
Sense the wholeness inside your body.
Have a felt or imagined sense of the veins and fluids flowing steadily towards your torso and your torso holding everything that arrives without judgment.
Each organ has its own space,
Each with its own role,
Yet everything works quietly and constantly together.
Allow your body to breathe the breath without interruptions from you.
Breathe without effort,
Noticing the air around you.
This air that you're breathing has travelled over mountains and oceans,
Forests and deserts and on its journey the air has taken on different qualities.
When cold air moves over warm ground,
The layers of air mix forming clouds,
Rain and sometimes even thunderstorms.
Let your breath remind you of the change and movement that is present even when we are still.
Sense the reciprocity of your breath.
Consider that your inhale is the exhale from the trees and your exhale will be the trees in breath.
All things connected even as we're breathing.
As you continue breathing long,
Slow,
Deep and true,
Notice the rise and fall of your belly as the diaphragm contracts and then relaxes.
Imagine the fluids in your body,
The blood and the lymph,
The digestive fluids,
All flowing like streams and rivers,
All moving steadily towards the lake of your torso,
Carrying with them nutrients and energy.
Think of each of your organs as its own planet,
Moving and working together in the space of your moving and working together in the space of your body.
Your heart pulses like a steady sun,
Your lungs expand and contract,
Each organ with its own rhythm yet all in sync.
Feel the steadiness of your bones,
Your bones heavy like the mountains within you,
Sharing the same minerals found in the earth itself.
Deeper still,
Picture the cells of your body as stars suspended in the constellation of your being.
Each cell hums with life,
Perfectly designed to care for you,
All cells working together to keep you strong and alive.
This is the depth and complexity of being a human with a body.
Continue breathing in and out,
Coming home to yourself,
Each breath connecting you deeper to the world around you and also to yourself.
As this meditation draws to a close,
I will leave you with the words and wisdom of Rumi.
Do not feel lonely,
The entire universe is inside you,
Stop acting so small,
You are the universe in ecstatic motion.
Letting those words be received in the places that need to receive them.
Thank you so much for joining me beautiful people,
May you remember your wholeness.
