Welcome to our Yoga Nidra Guided Sleep Meditation session, designed to help you experience deep relaxation and enjoy a restful night's sleep. Yoga Nidra, often called "yogic sleep," is a powerful practice that induces profound relaxation while maintaining awareness, making it an ideal technique for preparing the body and mind for deep rest. In this guided meditation, you'll be gently led through a series of instructions to release tension from your body, calm your mind, and enter a state of complete relaxation. Starting from your toes and moving upward, you'll progressively relax each part of your body, allowing stress and tension to melt away. Throughout the session, you'll focus on your breath, and guide your mind into a state of tranquility. Visualizations and affirmations will further deepen your relaxation, helping you to let go of any worries or thoughts that may be keeping you awake.

Hello and welcome to this guided yoga nidra.

During this journey you will experience four different states of consciousness.

The first state is the state of being awake,

Here you will be in connection with your conscious mind.

The brainwave pattern you will experience is that of beta brainwaves.

You will have sensory awareness and external knowledge.

As we dive deeper on the journey of deep relaxation you will enter the state of yoga nidra,

Also known as conscious sleep.

Here you will connect to your super conscious mind.

This place is often described as the twilight zone between awake and asleep.

The brainwave pattern you will experience is that of alpha brainwaves.

Here you will reap the benefits of deep relaxation,

Conscious dreaming and vivid imagery.

After this state you will enter the state known as the dreaming state.

This is your subconscious mind and the brainwave patterns you will experience is those of theta brainwaves.

Here you can release emotions,

Suppressed fears and desires and you will be able to connect deeply with your inner most sensations.

The fourth and final state is that of deep sleep.

This is associated with your unconscious mind,

Here your brain will produce delta brainwaves and you will connect to your most primordial inner drives.

Before we go any further I would like to share a quote from the Pythia,

The Oracle of Delphi.

Read these words,

You who wishes to probe the depths of nature.

If you do not find within yourself that which you seek,

Neither will you find it outside.

In you is hidden the treasures of treasures.

Know thyself and you will know the universe and the gods.

Find a comfortable position,

Laying down with your arms gently outside of your body,

Palms turned up,

Legs gently apart and all ten toes turning out to the sides,

Allow your eyes to gently close and take your time here,

Adjust your clothes and your body,

Make sure that you are comfortable and that you will not be disturbed.

It is said that intentions set in yoga nidra are bound to come true,

So I invite you now to bring one short sentence to the forefront of your mind,

Make it in present tense and make it positive and then mentally repeat it three times.

For those of you who struggle to find an intention I will share one with you here today.

Let's start by exploring the first state of consciousness,

We will gently become aware of sensory awareness,

Starting with all that we can hear,

Allow your ears to move around from sound to sound,

Start by listening to sounds outside the room,

The hustle and the bustle,

The cars and the birds to bring your awareness to sounds inside the room,

To move from sound to sound,

Listening to the sound of your breathing,

To your heart beating,

Then bring your awareness to the felt sensation on your body,

The clothes on your skin,

The meeting points between the air and your skin,

Where does one end?

Feel the support of the surface beneath you that your body is resting on,

We will allow our consciousness to travel from body part to body part,

Allowing ourselves to become aware of our energetical body Start by feeling the thumb of your right hand,

Right side of the abdomen,

Top of the foot,

Feel the sole of the right foot and then feel the prana or the chi flow from sole to palm on your right side,

Visualize a warm healing light moving through the right side of your body,

Removing blockages and tension,

The right side of the body is connected to our solar energy,

Now we will bring our awareness to the left side of the body,

Which is connected to our lunar,

Feminine and genus side,

Start by feeling the thumb of the left hand,

Chest on the left side,

Feel the sole of the left foot,

Then feel the prana or the chi running from sole to palm and palm to sole,

Harmonizing the yin side of your body,

Feel the divine union between Shiva and Shakti,

Between the yin and the yang,

As you feel the energy flowing from both palms to both soles and all across your body,

Allow everything to smoothen out with ease and relaxation,

Feel like your tongue is resting on the roof of the mouth,

Deeper and deeper into relaxation,

To transition into the next state of our journey and activate the alpha brainwaves,

We will incorporate a breathing technique that goes like this,

Inhale 27 belly rises,

Exhale 27 belly folds,

Inhale 26 belly rises,

Exhale 26 belly folds,

Inhale 25 belly rises,

Exhale 25 belly folds,

Inhale 24 belly rises,

Exhale 24 belly folds,

Inhale 23 belly rises,

Exhale 23 belly folds,

Inhale 22 belly rises,

Exhale 22 belly folds,

Inhale 21 belly rises,

Exhale 21 belly folds,

Inhale 20 belly rises,

Exhale 20 belly folds,

Inhale 19 belly rises,

Exhale 19 belly folds,

Inhale 18 belly rises,

Exhale 18 belly folds,

Inhale 17 belly rises,

Exhale 17 belly folds,

Inhale 16 belly rises,

Exhale 16 belly folds,

Inhale 15 belly rises,

Exhale 15 belly folds,

Inhale 14 belly rises,

Exhale 14 belly folds,

Inhale 13 belly rises,

Exhale 13 belly folds,

Continue this count until you reach one,

Observing how with every exhalation you sink deeper and deeper into the essence of your being,

Allowing name and form to the soul.

If you lose your count then gently bring it back to 27.

Now as we have reached the depths of our being,

I would like you to visualize a serene and calm park in the early morning hours.

This place is still and peaceful and you are welcomed by the birds,

The grass in the park is soft and you are walking barefeet.

There are gardens of flowers,

Beautiful old majestic trees are growing,

The temperature is perfect and the warm gentle morning light feels nice on your skin.

You observe the morning dew drops dropping from the petals of the flowers,

You can feel the fragrance from the roses to the pine.

You cross a small bridge that leads over a gentle stream,

Squirrels are playing in the trees,

Above you is a crystal blue sky,

In front of you is a small temple.

And in your pocket you have the key to the door.
