A 10-minute meditation unmasking the layers to be our most authentic selves.

Hello,

I'm Nicole Papageorg from Wellness Wonderland Collective.

Welcome to this meditation.

Today we'll take time to gently peel back the layers we wear,

Those identities,

Roles,

And expectations,

So that we can reconnect with our true authentic selves.

Find a comfortable position,

Whether seated or laying down,

And allow your body to relax.

Close the eyes,

Rolling the shoulders up and back.

We'll start to take a few deep breaths.

Breathing in deeply,

And slowly exhaling out the mouth,

Feeling your body settling into stillness.

Breathe deeply into the belly,

Slowly and mindfully,

Inhaling through the nose,

Expanding fully,

And exhale through the mouth,

Releasing any tension,

Any tightness.

Letting each breath be a reminder of this moment,

Of this space you've created for yourself.

And as you breathe,

Notice the natural rhythm of your body.

Let your thoughts,

Worries,

And to-do lists drift away with each exhalation.

Allow yourself to simply be here,

Present with each breath.

Now I want to imagine a mask or a layer you wear in your daily life.

This layer might represent an expectation others have of you,

A role you play,

Or a story you tell yourself about who you are.

Start to visualize this layer clearly in your mind's eye.

Maybe it feels heavy,

Like a mask you've been carrying for quite a while,

Or maybe it's more subtle,

A habit or a way of being that has been with you for years.

With your next inhalation,

Bring gentle awareness to this layer,

To whatever is coming up for you.

Acknowledge it without judgment.

And as you exhale,

Begin to imagine this layer softening,

Loosening its hold on you.

Take a few more breaths here,

Visualizing this layer becoming lighter and lighter and more transparent with each exhalation.

Now imagine gently peeling this layer away.

As you remove it,

You start to feel a sense of relief and freedom.

Underneath this layer,

You find a part of your true self,

One that isn't defined by others' expectations or past stories.

Feel the space that this unmasking creates within you.

Breathe into that space and let it expand.

You are beginning to connect with your true essence,

The part of you that has always been authentic,

Pure,

And whole.

If you notice any other layers,

Other masks,

Beliefs,

Or identities,

Allow yourself to release those,

Too,

One by one with each exhale.

Each layer you remove brings you closer to your true,

Authentic self.

And as you sit here,

Lighter and more open,

Allow yourself to embrace the person you truly are beneath each layer.

Feel the power of your authenticity.

What does this version of you feel like?

Is it peaceful?

Do you feel free?

Empowered?

Take a moment to breathe into this truth.

Know that who you are in this moment is enough.

Without the layers,

Without the masks,

You are worthy just as you are.

Now take a deep breath in,

Filling yourself with this sense of wholeness.

And exhale,

Releasing anything else that no longer serves you.

And as we come to the end of this meditation,

Take a few final deep breaths,

Grounding yourself in the awareness of your authentic self.

And slowly bring your attention back to the present moment,

Starting to wiggle fingers and toes,

Gently reawakening the body.

And when you feel ready,

Opening your eyes with a soft gaze.

And carry this sense of authenticity with you throughout the day,

Knowing that you can return to this space whenever you need it.

You are enough exactly as you are.

Until next time,

Stay curious,

Stay well,

And lead with love in all you do.
