Welcome,
Everybody,
To your Yoganadra session with the Phoenix.
We have come to the final limb of the Eight Limbs of Yoga,
Written by Patanjali,
The sage.
And this is the ultimate in the yogic path,
The merging of the individual mind with the infinite.
In this Yoganadra,
We explore Samadhi,
Not as something to be reached,
But as a natural state of unity that reveals itself when effort dissolves.
Through deep rest,
Subtle awareness and gentle presence,
We touch the quiet essence that remains when all striving ceases.
This is a practice of wholeness through rest,
And as you know,
It's a part of the series A Meditative Journey Through the Eight Limbs of Yoga.
So,
Without further ado,
Let's get yourselves comfortable on a yoga mat,
Or on your bed,
Or whatever you like,
Whatever that is for you.
And we are coming into Sivasana,
The posture of Sivasana,
And this posture is designed to bring rest to the body and the mind.
There is nothing to do in this pose,
And so that's why it fits so well with Samadhi and Yoganadra in general.
So we're going to be making Samadhi feel natural,
Not something that's an objective,
But something that is already there within you.
And when we stop the searching,
It appears.
So just settle in and focus on your breathing.
Focus on the breath.
And if you allow yourself,
You will already feel the unity that abounds.
Without that unity,
You don't exist.
It's the unity that allows you to exist.
And when you die,
You will dissolve back into the infinite.
Whatever that means for you.
But during Samadhi,
In these quiet places that we visit,
You will feel that in touch with the infinite.
Nothing needs to be done.
Nothing needs to be changed.
You are enough,
And you're already here.
Just taking deep breaths into the body,
Settling in for your practice.
Allow your busy day to leave if you're doing it in the evening,
And if you're doing it in the morning,
That's fabulous.
Stay within that sattvic time.
I'd encourage you to fully let go now.
Fully let go.
And dissolve into the awareness.
As you know,
With Yoga Nidra,
We can set what's called the sankapa.
And the sankapa is an affirmation,
A positive affirmation of something that you want to experience or manifest within your life.
And it could be finding Samadhi,
Or being in Samadhi rather than finding.
I'm in touch with everything.
I'm union with everything.
I am infinity itself.
These kinds of sankapas fit well with the practice of Samadhi.
So we would like to take you,
Once you set your sankapa,
Repeat it three times and let go.
So the body awareness,
We'd like to move through the body as the gentle witness,
Not analyst.
Allow yourself this.
So just feel your body.
Feel your body.
And recognize that the body is temporary.
Transient,
Forever changing,
Until it no longer exists.
And then you merge once again with the infinite.
Now,
Think of it as a wave rising in the ocean and a wave crashing back to the ocean.
The wave may be gone,
But the ocean remains.
You are the ocean.
You are the ocean.
Feel your body dissolve.
Feel the back of the heels against your mat.
The backside against the mat.
The shoulder blades.
The back of the head.
The forehead and your face.
Both of your arms.
Both of your legs.
Your whole body.
Now,
Feel the space outside of your body.
Feel the space outside of your body.
And the body actually only consists of about 4 or 5% matter.
The rest is space.
So feel that space.
The boundary of the skin is just an illusion.
Allow yourself to become one with the space that surrounds you.
Gently feeling into the body and allowing the body to dissolve into the space that surrounds it.
Letting go.
Now,
Feel the breath.
Connect with your breath.
Just connecting with your breath.
And regardless of what you think or believe,
You are connected with everything through the breath.
From a very basic perspective,
You're connected to the trees,
They're connected to nature.
They breathe out,
You breathe in.
Allow yourself to understand that as a foundational principle.
Just breathe.
Getting deeper and deeper and deeper.
Much deeper now.
Let go of trying.
There is no trying.
There is only being.
Being here and now with infinite possibilities.
Let the breath guide you downward.
Coming downward.
Much deeper.
See if you can feel the room coming from you from within it.
The space breathing within you.
Dissolving boundaries.
Imagine a light within you that slowly is expanding.
Expanding beyond your skin.
Beyond your sense of ego.
Bigger and bigger and bigger.
See a luminous light.
Become one with the light.
This is awareness and everything arises within it.
Stay with that.
Imagine a beautiful place filled with light,
Love and laughter.
Sitting down by a lily pond,
Staring at the lace.
A ripple in the pond.
Birds flying overhead.
A gentle peace pervades your being.
You are one with everything.
You are one with everything.
This is your natural essence.
You are on an under mere kosha.
There is only a thin veil now between you and pusha.
The infinity of life itself.
Expand your consciousness and awareness and touch on that.
Touch on that.
I'm going to leave you for a little while.
I'm not going anywhere.
Just rest in this peaceful state.
I'm going to leave you for a little while in complete silence and unity.
I'm still here.
Stay in that blissful state.
No boundaries.
If you said a sankalpa at the beginning of the practice,
This is an ideal opportunity to repeat that in this state of mind,
Planting this directly into the subconscious mind where it will grow and manifest.
You simply need to believe.
Let go of your sankalpa and let the infinite look after this.
And if this is something that you need,
It will come to you.
It will come to you.
You don't need to fetch it.
Be there.
And gently now start to take some movements into the body.
Gentle movements.
Stretch the body out.
Deep breath.
Take some deeper breaths.
Deeper breaths.
A little bit more movement now as you gently guide yourself back to this level of consciousness.
Feel the room.
The material.
Feel the material of your body lying on the mat.
Gently coming back.
Gently coming back.
All the way back now.
All the way back now.
And if you would like to stay within the place that you have found,
As you slowly return more or maybe doze off a little,
That's fine.
Otherwise,
It's time to finish the practice of yoga nidra and find yourself into a comfortable seat.
Bring your hands into a namaskar.
Take a deep breath in.
And let go.
Another deep breath in.
And let go.
Keep the prayer with the heart center.
May we have love in our heart.
Bring the prayer to the lips.
May we have truth in the speech.
Prayer to the forehead.
May we have gratitude in the mind.
Thank you for joining me once again.
Until we meet again,
From my heart to yours,
Much love,
Yogi Phoenix.
