Welcome to your practice.
My name is Abeda Chasulwa.
If you find you have entered an energetic slump and are in need of a pick-me-up,
This meditation experience is for you.
Find a comfortable spot to sit or stand for the duration,
Making sure you can take this break without interruption.
Use this time as an opportunity to bring your body,
Mind and breath back into balance.
You are your first home.
Everything you experience is influenced by what is currently unfolding within you.
I extend an open invitation for you to reset and deepen your connection to yourself,
Becoming your best friend and number one supporter.
Tune into your body,
Letting your awareness roam freely throughout your limbs and organs,
Feeling into the sensations as they arise.
How would you describe what you discover?
Perhaps you sense warmth,
Comfort and ease.
Maybe some parts of your body feel tense,
Firm or cool.
Without judgment,
Notice the sensations housed within your body.
Prioritize making your body comfortable.
What can you do right now to release tension?
Experiment with rolling the neck around in slow semi-circles,
Taking the chin towards the chest and moving the ears towards the shoulders.
A continuous mindful movement,
Dissolving rigidity in the neck and throat.
Stack the head and the shoulders,
Changing the movement to shrug the shoulders clockwise and anticlockwise.
Another continuous mindful movement,
Dissolving rigidity in the shoulders.
Play around with synchronizing breath and movement.
Now take a deep breath in and stretch your body from end to end as if you have just awoken from deep sleep.
Pointing the toes and extending the legs fully as you fill yourself with the breath.
Exhale,
Returning to your initial position of sitting or standing comfortably.
Gradually softening into stillness once again.
Throughout your day,
As the intensity increases,
Notice opportunities to comfort your physical body.
Explore nurturing the body by drinking warm water,
Taking a few deep breaths and resting on a soft surface for a few minutes.
Imagine that your body is a safe space for you to operate and experience the world from.
Treat your safe space with respect and reverence.
In moments where you feel overwhelmed by external stimulus,
You will always have space within to refuel and redirect your attention.
Empower yourself with focus and accessible resources that come from within.
Notice your mental landscape.
Our stream of consciousness is always changing in response to the environment we find ourselves in.
Some of us find ourselves working in challenging environments at home or work.
Said environments may be a source of stress that seem to drain vital life force energy.
Through small continuous efforts,
We can change our response to these environments by restoring and reclaiming our headspace.
Let's try this through the practice of affirmations.
Affirmations are simple statements designed to inspire self-change in the individual using them.
By using affirmations,
We can change our subconscious and conscious mind,
Influencing our thought patterns,
Behavior and experience of our environment.
Feel into the following affirmations,
Repeating them out loud or mentally.
I am a source of inspiration and motivation.
I am a source of inspiration and motivation.
I am a source of inspiration and motivation.
I give myself space to grow and learn.
I give myself space to grow and learn.
My well-being is my top priority.
Let those statements settle into every cell of your body as you allow yourself both in mind and heart to recalibrate.
Notice any transformation on a physical,
Mental and emotional level after your meditation.
Celebrate any change you perceive,
No matter how small.
Continue to hold yourself within the embrace of full body awareness for the rest of your day.
Let those statements settle into every cell of your body as you allow yourself both in mind and heart to recalibrate.
I am a source of inspiration and motivation.
