This practice invites you to soften into your body, your rhythm, and this changing season of life with tenderness. Perimenopause can stir emotions, shift energy, and reshape how you feel in your body, and it’s easy to forget that nothing is wrong with you, you are simply evolving. In this meditation, you’ll be guided to slow down, tune into your breath, and meet your sensations with gentle curiosity instead of judgment. Through mindful somatic awareness, you’ll learn to recognize the messages your body is offering and respond with compassion rather than frustration. This is a space to rest, to reconnect with your inner wisdom, and to remember that you are not alone. Your body is guiding you into a deeper chapter of strength, intuition, and self-knowing. Let this be a moment of softening, a moment of honoring yourself, and a moment of feeling held during a powerful transition.

Welcome to this moment for yourself.

This moment to acknowledge the change that you're going through as a woman and while being aware of the challenges that face you,

Learning to cultivate gratitude,

Understanding,

And compassion for yourself during this time of transition.

We as women are gifted with these beautiful bodies that allow us to have a cycle,

The power of being able to create life.

We are the ultimate creators because we have that powerful energy inside of us.

Yet along with that comes transitions,

Different seasons of life within our body's system and let's face it,

They can be challenging.

Once we are used to a certain way of being and how our body responds,

Then things can change.

And so while we're grappling with these changes,

We're also probably in a time of life where we demand a lot of out of ourselves and others can demand a lot out of us.

And at a time when we need the most compassion,

We often isolate ourselves from others because in this society we've been told that we're supposed to deal and handle and we can.

We're very capable.

But the message has not been sent that we are allowed to take time and space and give ourselves the only kind of understanding that we really need,

Which is that compassionate stance.

So I invite you to take a moment for yourself.

Find a comfortable seat or laying down,

Any way that you need to,

To just get into a relaxed place.

And I invite you to just start to pay attention to the breath.

If you can,

Breathe in through your nose.

Just start to breathe in softly through your nose.

And as you take an in-breath,

Try and inflate the belly.

Let the belly come out.

And then as you softly exhale,

Just let the belly fall inward.

And as we move through these breaths,

These gentle breaths,

You can begin to expand the breath a little bit more.

And just invite calm into your system.

Invite kind of softening as you breathe.

Just take a breath now.

And as you breathe in,

Imagine a sweet softening surrounding your entire system.

And as you breathe out,

Just let go of any tightness that you might find.

And let's just do a really easy body scan.

Maybe just starting at the bottom of your feet.

Just relaxing your feet and your ankles and the lower part of your legs.

Just noticing if there's any tension and if you're able to just let go.

And then maybe your knees and your upper legs.

Just tuning in to that area and just letting go as you breathe softly of any tension.

Moving up into your abdomen,

Your hips,

Your buttocks.

Just let go of any tension that's there.

Moving up to your torso,

Your chest.

Just release.

Tune in.

Continue up to your shoulders and your neck.

Let go of anything that needs to just relax in that space.

Continue to breathe softly in and out through your nose.

And then tune in to your arms,

Upper arms,

Lower arms.

And just let them relax.

Your hands,

Let your hands go.

Just release any tension that you might find there.

And then back up to your head and your face.

Just softly let anything go.

Maybe just any tension in your forehead,

Your mouth,

Your jaw.

Just allow it to just soften.

And now as we're tuning into our body,

I invite you to find a space of compassion for yourself.

This body that has carried you through life.

This body that has been going through cycles and now those cycles are changing and it can feel challenging.

You may need more rest.

You may have moods that are shifting.

You may feel a little uncomfortable in your body and that's okay.

But I invite you to thank your body for all that it does for you.

And I invite you to imagine the challenge that you may be having at this transition,

This season of life.

And imagine a friend,

A close friend that you care about,

Telling you about this challenge.

And as you imagine this friend telling you about this very challenge that you're facing,

I want you to feel in your body the challenge.

And as they describe this challenge,

You can recognize it in your own.

And think of how you would feel for them,

Towards them.

Or as this friend tells you about this challenge that they're also experiencing.

And I invite you to feel that compassion that may come up for your friend.

Imagine what you would say or how you would react to them.

Maybe you'd want to give them a hug.

Maybe you'd want to tell them that you understand and that it's okay and that you still love them just the way that they are.

And as you do that,

I invite you to perhaps begin to shift some of that compassion towards yourself.

You also deserve that love,

That softness,

That understanding.

And whatever body part you are tuning into,

Maybe you put your hands there if it feels right.

Give your body that softness and compassion.

And thank it.

Thank your body.

Thank that part of you that is changing or it feels challenging because it is shifting and that's okay.

You deserve to feel the love that this body has carried you through.

This body has lovingly embraced your life,

Supported you.

So you're allowed to take a deep breath and just allow it to be where it's at.

And give yourself sweet,

Sweet compassion.

And just hold yourself in this stance,

This embrace.

Just imagine warmth and love and whatever else you may need in this moment to flow through towards you.

And as you do this,

Breathe into that space even deeper.

And know that this awareness,

This compassion for yourself and the changes that you're experiencing and the challenges that come up through that,

This awareness to turn that towards yourself as a way of compassionately giving yourself grace is always available to you.

And the next time you feel any sense of these changes and the way that they feel,

Perhaps you can take a moment to stop and hold yourself for this compassion.

Even if you just remember for just a moment,

It's a beautiful shift.

Just breathe into that space some more.

I invite you to just feel that loving kindness.

Let it spread through you.

And perhaps if it feels right,

You can also invite another element in.

Perhaps it's the earth supporting you.

Perhaps it would be the feeling of water running over you,

Or a soft gentle breeze,

Whatever feels comforting to you.

I invite you to add that element in as a way of supporting you because you are loved and supported.

And sometimes it just helps to bring in that awareness.

We as women are powerful creators,

But with that creation can come the challenges of the seasons that we go through and it's all okay to be feeling exactly the way you're feeling.

And as we invite more understanding and compassion for ourselves,

The more easily we're able to move through these shifts and seasons in life.

So as we begin to come to a close,

I invite you to just send a little ounce of extra love to yourself and thank yourself for taking this time.

And remember,

Like a bookmark,

You can always come back to this feeling when you need it.
