Welcome to your new year,

Reflections.

This meditation is perfect not only when it's the actual new year that you celebrate but for your own personal year,

Your birthday.

If it's your birthday,

Happy birthday and I wish you a beautiful year.

You will come out of this practice with refreshed clarity,

A new sense of purpose and hope and optimism for your new year.

It's so important that we stop for a moment and reflect on the lessons that the past year has brought us so that we can step into our new year with more wisdom,

More clarity and a fresh perspective.

Find yourself in a comfortable position.

You can sit up straight or you can absolutely lay down for this practice.

Let's begin by grounding down,

Noticing the contact points of your body and the surface below you,

Noticing how you are being carried and supported by the earth below you.

Allow yourself to drink in this support and become aware of the space that surrounds you,

The four walls.

Even with your eyes closed or gently opened,

Can you feel the space in front of you,

Above you,

On both sides of you and behind you?

Now,

Bring your awareness to your breath and how your body moves with every inhale and exhale,

A constant cycle of expansion as you inhale and contraction as you exhale,

Mirroring exactly the processes of nature and life.

Now we will begin our journey inward.

Keep following your breath that leads you deeper and deeper into your inner world,

Where all of the past versions of you,

All your past experiences,

All your dreams and hopes reside.

Can you ask inside of yourself if your parts can allow some space for you to have your yearly ritual and you can ask if they can gently relax back and make some space and you can inform them that this is in their highest good as well.

It's a gift to yourself.

And now that you've created more space inside of yourself,

I invite you to go back to exactly one year ago,

Around this day.

What were you doing?

Where were you?

And you don't need to know exactly in detail but in general,

Where were you in your life?

Which relationships were you maintaining?

On which career path were you focusing on?

How was your health?

What was your personal style of clothes,

Of music?

Try to really bring that version of yourself from one year ago back to life and as you see them in front of you now,

Make contact with them and let them know that you can hear them and that you are there.

And if there is some form of receptivity from their side,

Then you can let them know that you are you one year later and perhaps they want to tell you something.

Maybe they want to tell you they are proud of you.

Maybe they would like to know more about how your life is like now.

Maybe they want to give you advice.

After you've had some exchanges with this part from one year ago,

You can thank them for being here and gently say goodbye.

You turn around now and you notice a huge screen as if you are in a movie theater.

The screen is counting down 10 seconds,

9,

8.

You are very curious and you sit down in a sofa right in front of the big screen.

The timer has ended and a movie is about to play.

It's the movie of your past year.

Beginning at 12 months ago,

You are looking at your own life and all its highlights but also its lowlights.

First,

You see some beautiful moments that you will cherish forever and you also see some difficult moments,

Perhaps,

That you have made your way through.

Watching this gives you a sense of resilience and strength for making it through that.

And now you start to see your life 11 months ago.

You see yourself and the people around you,

The places that you are in,

The activities that you are doing and again you are filled up with warmth and joy.

But you also see some lowlights and again you are grateful for surviving that,

For making it through.

And you don't need to worry about how this looks like.

Both the beautiful and the darker moments can be small or big.

Don't try to consciously think about these images too much but rather allow them to appear.

Your subconscious is a huge library that stores everything.

Relax into it.

And also for this month there is a sort of focus,

A sort of theme,

A lesson that you can take with you.

You learned it and you move on wiser.

Now you begin to see your life 10 months ago.

What were you doing 10 months ago?

Try to recall that specific month and allow the images to appear.

And maybe just whispering to yourself the name of the month can already bring up so many memories.

And again you see this movie screen playing your life 10 months ago.

The beautiful encounters you've gotten to experience.

And you start to notice your friends or family,

Maybe your job.

You begin to see some beautiful moments and again perhaps there have been some painful moments as well.

Your compassion is as wide as your inner space,

As wide as the sky.

And you allow it all to be there without judgment.

Because those difficult moments have shaped you into who you are now.

And also here you begin to realize a sort of takeaway,

An insight that you can take with you.

Your gift of 10 months ago.

Take it with you as if you are putting those life lessons in a bag next to you.

You have the lesson of 12 months ago,

Now the movie screen starts to change again.

And you begin to see your life one month later,

Where were you?

What were you doing?

It is normal to have to dig a little bit in your memory lane.

Allow all the images and beautiful moments of that month to unfold on that screen in front of you.

And again here maybe you've had a moment of confusion,

Doubt,

Perhaps a loss in your life.

Allow your compassion to wrap around it and see it as a part of life.

Hold it in your heart.

And also for that month a sort of lesson.

It can be one word.

It can be an insight or a focus.

You take it with you and you put it in your bag full of gifts.

And the screen begins to show now your life 8 months ago,

Again one month later.

How did your life develop then?

Begin to see the beautiful evolvements,

The beautiful shifts and changes.

That happened.

And even if this month feels icky or you have some bad memories,

Again that's totally okay.

It is especially in those darker months that we can take away more beautiful life lessons.

It is through the discomfort that we change and make new decisions in our lives.

So look back on this month however it went with gratitude for your younger self.

And again here,

What is a sort of focus you can take with you?

What did this month bring and give you?

Take a moment to breathe it in.

With gratitude you put this lesson,

This word in your bag.

And now the screen starts to show you your life 7 months ago,

Again one month later.

What happened in that month?

See how the movie screen is playing it all.

With a heart full of love,

Perhaps you're starting to see beautiful memories.

Your heart can handle it all.

What did this month teach you?

What was most important for you at that point in your life?

Take it with you.

Put it in your bag next to you.

You turn back to the screen and watch how your life,

Again one month later,

Begins to unfold.

What has transpired that month?

And perhaps you see both,

The good and the bad,

Because life is always a balance,

Yin and yang,

Expansion but also contraction.

Can you begin to see that beautiful dance of life?

And what was the biggest focus point looking back on that month?

What did you realize was more important than you thought it was?

And also here,

You put this lesson in your bag and you take it with you on your journey.

You turn back to the screen and you begin to see your life playing out in front of you one month later.

Just 5 months ago.

And what sort of beautiful moments happened then?

What were perhaps some challenges you faced?

Some moments of reflection you've had perhaps?

Maybe something amazing happened.

Or maybe the softness and trustworthiness of routine gave you exactly what you needed in that month.

With so much gratitude you are looking back on those times.

And again,

One word,

One lesson really pops out.

Something that you can remember and take with you.

And so you put it in your bag.

And you turn back to the screen and you begin to see your life circumstances one month later,

Just 4 months ago.

Where were you?

What were you doing?

What is a highlight of that month?

But also,

What was a low light?

And what can you learn from that?

Be proud of how far you've come.

Put in your bag what you want to take with you.

And look back at the screen to see your life just 3 months ago,

Again one month later.

And this might be a bit easier to recall.

The things that were going on that month.

And now you really start to see how much your life changed in one year.

How much your focus has changed.

Your priorities.

And you begin to see all those beautiful memories,

Moments with loved ones.

The challenges you've had to face.

But as you're listening to this,

You made it through that.

You survived it.

And as this month begins to wrap up,

Also here you have a certain word,

A lesson,

A reflection that you want to take with you.

The gift of that month.

You put it in your bag and take it with you.

You look back upon this month.

See your whole life unfolding before your eyes.

One month later.

Just 2 months ago.

2 months before your new year.

What was going on?

What were some really cool things that happened that you want to remember forever?

Maybe you met some new people.

Or maybe some things have ended in your life.

Can you see how your younger self dealt with what was going on in the way that they knew what was best?

And when you know better,

You do better.

And that's why we are here today.

Reflecting back and meditating.

Taking with us those beautiful lessons.

So again,

For this month,

What is a lesson you can take with you?

And maybe it's a gift of the month.

Maybe it's a gift of the new year.

Simply you celebrating how far you've come.

Maybe it's a milestone you want to take with you and put in your bag.

You can absolutely do that.

And now you look back at the screen and you see your life just last month.

What were you doing last month?

What are some highlights that are unfolding on that screen in front of you?

Which memories pop up?

What can you celebrate?

And what can you be thankful for?

And again,

Something small or something big.

A reflection.

A memory.

One word of the month that you want to take with you and put in your bag.

And if you want,

You can even reflect back on today and the space in between the last month and right now and just take a moment to really land where you are now in your life.

Time goes so fast sometimes.

Take a moment to stand still and look around you.

You notice how the screen is gone and you're literally looking around you into your life happening right here,

Right now.

With your bag full of life lessons and milestones and memories,

What is your number one priority right now?

And you don't need to really think about it too much.

Allow this word to be whispered to you.

Allow this word or vision to arrive.

Feel it.

Rather than think it.

Right here,

Right now.

Make it promise to yourself to keep that on your number one priority.

Right now,

As you are shaping your future.

The only moment that we can prepare for our future is right here,

Right now.

Time is a funny thing.

There is only ever this moment.

So let's plant that seed right here.

Really breathing in that focus.

For the upcoming year.

Which actually means right now.

And keeping it close to you.

Allow it to be reflected in every action you take.

My birthday is coming up in three days and my year has been a year of letting go,

Of endings.

And what is most important for me right now is my health,

My well-being.

And so I allow that intention to be carried with me as I go into the supermarket to buy groceries.

As I buy any products that I use.

As I shape my day.

My mindset.

As I plan my gym routine or yoga classes.

I allow this intention to be embedded.

In every thought,

Every word and every action.

And I invite you to do the same with your intention,

With your focus.

Knowing why we do that is so important as well.

So let's take a brief moment here to thank ourselves for showing up.

To remember why you started.

To remember why you are on this path.

For the evolution of all beings on earth.

For your highest evolution.

For mine.

For everybody who will listen to this.

For all sentient beings on the planet.

Now let's take a brief moment to just take a mental screenshot of how you envision your next year to unfold.

As if it is infused with that intention of yours.

You see yourself in a beautiful bubble.

Maybe you would like to travel or make more time for family or friends.

See yourself,

Take a mental screenshot of that picture.

And you can absolutely take this further and make a vision board,

A mood board,

Even a playlist for your year.

So whether it's your birthday or whether it's new year,

Whichever new year you might celebrate,

I wish you truly the most abundant,

Healthy and thriving year.

May you receive all that you need for your highest good.

May this be the best year yet.

I'm sending you so much love.

And I'll see you soon.
