Thank you for giving yourself this time to be with the truth of who and what you are. Presence and Awareness are with you all the time. This guided meditation allows you to pause and be invited into a space where you can experience all that is arising and falling away to presence and awareness. This miracle of everything that is happening without the need for you to do anything but witness, notice, and open to it all. Welcome.

Thank you so much for spending this time with yourself,

For giving yourself these moments.

So important to take this pause,

Even if you find yourself not wanting or not staying with it.

That's fine.

You can always return.

This presence and awareness is not going anywhere.

You're going to take it with you anyway,

No matter where you go.

This is just taking time.

This is just taking time to point to that which is always with you.

So if you are seated or lying down,

Let's take a moment to just notice that there is breath happening and there's a body appearing in a seated position or a lying position.

Notice that there is music and maybe other sounds.

Let's be present to this body that is appearing in form.

Take a moment to just pay attention to the palms of the hands and just soften them and allow the fingers to soften and allow the attention to move to the feet and allow the bottoms of the feet to soften.

Notice how amazing it is that this body-mind system can just take direction and just follow it.

No real doer was there.

There was just direction and then there was sensation happening in this body-mind system.

Let's just be with that for a moment.

There was direction and then there was just something that followed the direction and knew how to follow the direction.

Because that is so fascinating and so much to see in just that,

It will offer that again.

So there is this apparent body in form sitting or lying and there are hands that are felt.

The invitation to just soften the palms of the hands and soften the bottoms of the feet and now the invitation to take a deep breath in.

And almost before there is thought,

The breath is just happening.

It is just being breathed deeper.

It's just amazing to be present with this.

How is this possible?

So this body-mind system has just learned things.

And so direction can come in and the system can just follow the direction.

This you that you identify as that is doing this is not real.

It's not true.

As I invite the shoulders to relax and the breath to become deeper again and the tongue to release from the roof of the mouth,

Just notice how it's almost as if it happens before the words are even completely.

Rest for a moment in the awe of that.

All this time that we spend worrying,

Fretting,

Busying ourselves.

All this time we spend efforting,

Trying so hard.

And this body-mind system can pretty much just function.

Just function.

Just do what needs to be done.

Very little actually needed.

Bring your attention to the place where there is a head that is appearing.

And just notice that you can't actually see the head,

But there is a felt sense that there is a head.

And just open your eyes very gently.

Have a soft and easy focus.

Just for a moment be curious about what is seeing.

Is there some person named whatever your beautiful name is actually doing the seeing?

Or is there just seeing happening because there are eyes and there is a brain.

Again it just seems to do it pretty naturally,

Effortlessly to some degree.

And go ahead and close your eyes again and just notice how there's still a picture perhaps of what was just seen in the mind's eye.

How is that even happening?

And also there is something listening to this voice that is offering these invitations.

And how are the invitations even being offered?

I am just opening my mouth and invitations and directions are coming out.

There isn't even there isn't even thought.

How is that even happening?

These are mysteries,

Not real questions to answer right now.

They're to be experienced.

And so just sit now or lie there,

Listening to music,

Watching thought,

Body sensations,

Feelings.

Just watch how effortlessly everything is arising and then falling away.

As much as is possible for this moment in this body mind system.

Just watch it all without following any one thing.

Can you sense that there is actually no doer?

There's no person with your name making any of this happen.

It's just happening.

This takes time.

This takes practice.

Give this system a moment of grace and breath to just know it's here.

It's now.

It's present.

Just keep coming back to this exercise.

Come and join with me again and again.

Look around now.

Just look around your space.

How is all of this that you can see arising?

Breathe,

Marvel,

Get more curious,

Live,

Notice,

Open and watch my friend.
