Welcome to this yoga nidra practice for the Taurus new moon.
On new moons it is a great time to set new intentions for this next lunar cycle,
Anything you want to call in and manifest.
And since it is in the sign of Taurus,
A fixed earth sign,
Any intention set around stability,
Tuning into the body,
Feeling safe and secure and anchored are going to be especially supportive during this time.
In this yoga nidra practice of yogic sleep,
I will guide you through the five layers of your being,
Reaching further and further into the bliss body or atman,
The space of the soul.
It is here in the space of the soul we will set our sankalpa or great resolve or intention and use the frequencies of the sound bowls to amplify this intention.
For this practice,
I recommend laying down comfortably either on a mat or your bed or your recliner,
Bringing any pillows,
Blankets,
Eye masks that will support your practice the best.
Yoga nidra or yogic sleep is the practice of relaxing consciously in order to put the body in a state of receptivity.
In this state of receptivity,
You are simply listening to my words.
There's no need to force yourself to concentrate or to focus.
Yoga nidra is more about receiving,
Allowing and surrendering.
So for this practice,
Find yourself in this nice comfortable position where your body won't feel any aches or hurt for the next 30 or 40 minutes of the practice.
Close your eyes if you haven't yet.
Allow yourself to get really cozy,
Making any last minute movements to allow the body to settle in and calm down.
As you find that nice,
Comfortable,
Easy position,
Just surrendering to the earth or the support beneath you,
Begin to take a few easy breaths,
Drawing in a nice long inhale through the nose and slow exhale out the mouth.
Taking just a few more of these slow breaths,
Feeling the inhale draw you closer in to the awareness of your body,
Feeling the exhale surrender any tension,
Any stress,
Any activity.
We'll take one last breath in and exhale slow,
Deep,
Long release.
And as you settle in,
Begin to notice the ground and the body,
Noticing where your body touches the earth.
And feeling where the heels meet the ground.
Feel where the calves touch the ground or the support beneath you.
Feel the back of the thighs against the earth.
Feel the glutes become heavy on the ground.
Feel where the hips meet the ground.
Notice where the low back,
Mid back,
And upper back press into the earth.
Notice where the spine connects with the ground.
Now feeling the shoulder blades lean into the earth.
Now feel the entire back against the ground.
Feel where the arms touch the earth.
Become aware of the back of the head.
Connected to the ground or support beneath you.
Now become aware of the whole body resting on the ground.
Feeling your body become heavy on the ground.
Fully caressed and supported by the earth beneath you.
Allowing your body to relax even more as it melts to the ground.
And now bringing your awareness to your throat space.
Taurus rules the throat.
So notice if your throat has been emanating a frequency of limiting beliefs on a loop.
What stories have you been telling yourself that keep you from envisioning broader possibilities?
And observing within your life where you may be inflexible when presented with the unknown.
Channel all of this stuck energy into the roots of the earth where your body meets the ground.
Laying these limiting beliefs to rest.
Surrendering to the deep trust above.
In this grounded space deep in the center of your body.
Ingrain the following words by repeating three times.
Here begins the practice of yoga nidra.
I will stay awake and receive what I need.
Repeat three times.
My soul is steady in the face of change.
I stay anchored to my truth.
To absorb this intention or sankalpa,
Start by tuning into the outermost layer of your being,
The physical body.
I'll guide you to cycle your awareness across the 61 vital energy points on your body.
Bring your focus to that specific point to calm the nervous system and settle that energy field.
As I call out each point,
Feel that area sink closer into the ground beneath you,
Rooting you closer into the earth.
Start by becoming aware of the space between your eyebrows,
Your third eye center.
Feel this area drop into the earth beneath you.
Become aware of the base of the throat.
Feel this space settling into the ground.
Move awareness to the right shoulder.
Right thumb.
Right pointer finger.
Middle finger.
Ring finger.
And pinky finger.
Right wrist.
Right elbow.
Right shoulder.
Base of the throat.
Left shoulder.
Left elbow.
Left wrist.
Left thumb.
Left pointer finger.
Middle finger.
Ring finger.
Ring finger.
Pinky finger.
Left wrist.
Left elbow.
Left shoulder.
Center of the chest.
Right side chest.
Center of the chest.
Left side chest.
Center of the chest.
Moving awareness down to the navel.
Pelvis.
Right hip.
Right ankle.
Right big toe.
Right second toe.
Third toe.
Fourth toe.
And pinky toe.
Right ankle.
Right knee.
Right hip.
Returning to the pelvis.
Left hip.
Left knee.
Left ankle.
Left big toe.
Left second toe.
Third toe.
Fourth toe.
And pinky toe.
Left ankle.
Left hip.
Returning to the pelvis.
Navel.
Center of the chest.
Base of the throat.
Third eye center.
Space between your eyebrows.
Gently release awareness of your body and drop into your breath.
Feeling into your smooth inhales and smooth exhales.
Then begin to send your breath lower into your body towards the base of your spine.
As your inhale reaches the base of your spine your exhale floods the network of nerves that radiate from your spine out to all the nerves that run throughout your whole body.
Breathe deep into the base of your spine then breathe out into all of your nerve fibers.
Feel into how your nerves resemble the roots of a tree or plant.
Expansive and interconnected.
Continue this breath breathing low slow and deep.
Each breath expanding your roots your nerve fibers deeper and deeper into the earth.
With each breath begin to see your nerve fibers intertwine with the earth beneath you.
Breathe low into the spine into your root-like nerves.
With each exhale your roots descend deeper into the earth leaving you feeling more and more grounded.
Feeling your roots spawn deeper and deeper so much so that you can give the earth a hug with the energy of your nerve fibers.
Continue to breathe low into your roots and see them expand deeper into the earth.
Very gently let go of this breath and just notice how grounded you feel.
Notice the gentle support that lingers since forming this connection with the earth.
From here we will shift into a series of opposing feelings and sensations.
As I call out each one know that you are safe to experience the feeling or sensation just as it is.
Start by feeling yourself become heavy so heavy on the earth.
Now feel yourself become light and airy as if you could just float off into the sky.
Experience the sensation of being dense like a mountain.
Now feel yourself become thin like the air at the top of the mountain.
Feel yourself connected to each of your senses.
Now feel yourself disconnected withdrawn from each of your senses.
Feel yourself become stable unchanging.
Feel yourself become flexible and adaptable in the midst of transformation.
Let yourself be patient.
Let yourself be impulsive.
Feel grounded.
Now feel scattered.
Feel a sense of lacking.
Now feel a sense of overwhelming abundance.
Experience yourself floating as a star in the night sky.
Now experience yourself laying on the soft earth.
As you lay on this earth you find yourself laying on a sparkling grassy field under the calm darkness of the new moon breathing into the fertile ground beneath you connecting to this sense of steadiness within you.
Then you see a cosmic vine shiny and deep green begin to grow from your throat space growing towards the sky to the new moon.
The new moon absorbs your vine and amplifies your throat center's energy to manifest and bring forth all of your dreams for this next lunar cycle.
Allow yourself to intertwine with the new moon feeling both cared for and this quiet sense of power grounded in support energized by the magic of possibility.
Now begin to radiate gratitude to the moon as your cosmic vine draws back in towards your throat center.
Feel so,
So thankful for this gift to be in the presence of another new moon permeating this gratitude all throughout your body Now repeat this new intention three times.

Just bringing awareness to your internal state feeling the rise and fall of your breath naturally feeling into your consciousness,
Your emotions the state of your presence You can stay here if you'd like to linger in this space a little bit longer or if you are ready to reawaken start by deepening your next inhale lengthening your next exhale that follows finding very soft and gentle movement in the extremities of your body just the tips of your fingers the edges of your toes then feeling this movement get a little bit bigger maybe wiggling full fingers wiggling the full toes circling out the joints at the wrists,
Ankles and neck slowly and gently moving the body however feels good and maybe you take a big stretch overhead maybe you bring the knees in towards the chest giving yourself a hug and rocking side to side giving your body grace and time to reawaken back to its conscious state and wherever you are at you can choose to stay laying to close your practice or you may come up into a seat whichever position you choose gather the hands together at your heart in prayer honoring the sacred spirit and soul that you are we'll close the practice by bringing the thumbs up to third eye center taking a deep inhale through the nose and exhale out the mouth the practice of yoga nidra is now complete thank you so much for joining me and sharing your practice with me happy new moon and Taurus may all your manifestations arrive at the next lunar cycle
