Our intention for this mindful guided meditation is to become present and focus on our breathing. This five-minute short guided meditation is perfect for beginners and can be done in the comfort of your own home. We will relax and release tension with a body scan and focusing on our breathing will allow us to de-stress!

Welcome to today's meditation for relaxation.

Today we have a short meditation practice designed to help you get into a very relaxed and soothing state.

So we're just going to focus on ourselves for these next few minutes.

We're going to take some time to go inward and connect with what matters most.

We're going to use our breath to soothe the soul,

Discover our inner calm and allow peaceful energy to flow through our body.

Always find a comfortable seated position,

Placing your hands lightly in your lap and gently closing your eyes.

Now just start to listen to your body.

Open-minded,

Receptive,

Peaceful.

Observe your breath now,

Taking a deep breath in through your nose and slowly letting it out through your mouth.

While you're breathing,

Relax the muscles in your face,

Your shoulders,

Your stomach muscles.

Relax your hands and your legs.

Let go of all the tension in your body.

Focus on the breath as it makes its journey through your body.

Feel the cool air rush up your nose,

Slide down your throat and fill your lungs.

Notice the chest expanding as it accepts each breath and feel as your core contracts as you exhale.

Notice the warm air as it makes its way out of your body through your mouth.

Continue to breathe slowly and gently.

Imagine for each inhale a bright,

Powerful white light entering your body.

Watch as it works its way through the nose,

Down to your lungs and through every vein in your body,

Filling it with warm,

Glowing energy.

And on every exhale,

Imagine a dark,

Heavy cloud escaping your body and dissolving into the powerful light that surrounds you.

Keep observing your breath as you allow the white light to fill your body and exhaling the dark light as it is expelled and fades to nothing.

Continue breathing like this,

I'll mind the time and when you hear a bell ring,

Come back to the sound of my voice.

Come back to the sound of my voice.

Gently open your eyes.
