Go ahead and make yourself comfortable.

So as cozy as you can be,

Without knowing that you're going to fall right to sleep.

So you could be on the couch,

On the bed,

You can be on a mat.

I highly recommend a pillow under the head and under the knees and something to cover your eyes and your body with.

It's a little bit cooler for us here in Southern California,

If you're in Southern California.

So the body temperature does drop in any state of meditation practice or relaxation.

So make sure you are warm.

And then give yourself some space to settle into the bed,

The couch,

The mat.

And we are going to be meditating on the quality of the full moon in the practice.

And so while we will move through the stages of yoga nidra,

Which are very similar to the stages of meditation,

We will sort of continue to build on having a fixed point to explore,

To bring us as deeply as we can into this meditative space.

And so we want the body to be comfortable enough that it can go to sleep.

And then the mind begins to follow the journey.

One of the purposes of any meditation is to still the fluctuations of the mind and allow us to sort of reset,

Recalibrate,

Restore our ability to respond,

Our ability to make choices in our day.

And so as the body gets comfortable,

The invitation is to remain still and to follow the sound of my voice.

And you don't have to cling too tightly to my voice.

It is natural to fall asleep.

It happens for a lot of people and we are under the full moon eclipse influences already.

But as much as we can,

We want to stay in that sort of meditative space of awareness that we follow the voice.

And so as you settle in and you sort of set that intention to relax the body and follow my voice,

Go ahead and take a breath in through your nose,

Fill yourself all the way up.

And I want you to hold your breath at the top.

Hold,

Hold,

And then open your eyes and hold and then open mouth with a sigh and completely release.

And now again,

Take a deep breath in,

Fill all the way up.

And this time as you hold your breath at the top,

Squeeze your face,

Your hands,

Your feet,

Squeeze the body tight,

Tight,

Tight,

And then open mouth with an exhale,

Completely empty out,

Release any tension,

Any holding.

One more time,

Take a big,

Big breath and breathe all the way up.

See if you can hold the breath at the crown as you squeeze your face,

Squeeze your hands,

Squeeze your feet,

Hold,

Hold,

Keep the attention up at the crown.

And then when you need to release open mouth with a sigh,

Let it all go,

Letting any tension,

Tightness drain away.

Full moons can sort of bring up our emotions.

They can bring up our undigested experiences and eclipses have a tendency to very sort of quickly clear out and illuminate these shadows,

These crevices.

And so giving the body space to meditate on the energy of the full moon can help us to clear out the more challenging effects and be open and receptive to the healing benefits because every full moon and especially the eclipses,

And we have eclipses every year,

We don't have them every month,

But we have them every year and they are opportunities for very quick karmic release and space creation.

And this particular full moon eclipse coming here at the end of the calendar year,

The end of the solar year in the Northern hemisphere,

Really bringing us into releasing physical tension and emotional tension because it's on the axis of earth and water with the sun in a water element and the moon in an earth element.

And so as you feel your body releasing,

Feel the back body held by the earth.

So feel the earth in your back body,

Feel the earth in your bones and your muscles.

Notice the temperature on your skin.

Swallow,

Feel any taste in your mouth.

Breathe through the nose,

Smell any aroma.

And again,

Just committing to following the sound of my voice.

And if your eyes aren't closed,

Go ahead and close them,

Maybe cover them.

And so as you feel the earth,

The senses,

The physical body,

Give your permission for the body to be whole,

For the physical body to be whole and healing and resting,

Naturally receiving and releasing as is needed for this full moon.

And then allow yourself mentally,

Emotionally,

Spiritually to move through this meditation,

To move through this process,

Guided by the imagery and energy of the moon.

And so allow yourself to be here and whole and healing under this full moon,

Under this meditation.

And as you let the body surrender into the earth,

As you allow the emotions,

The mind,

The spirit to gather this practice of yoga nidra to meditate on the full moon begins now.

Bring your attention to the space between the eyebrows,

The Chitakash,

And imagine the full moon right above this space,

Luminous and bright,

Silvery,

Golden.

However the full moon shimmers to you,

Let the body grow heavy into the earth and just meditate on this full moon above your brow center,

Opening this portal of unlimited potential.

And as you inwardly gaze at this full moon,

You can feel the energy of the body as you gently gaze at this full moon,

The body releases,

Relaxes.

And if you're working with an intention in your life,

You can state it under this full moon.

Or for this practice,

You might say,

I allow wholeness.

I allow healing.

I open to the full moon.

Or anything like this.

And you can repeat it inwardly as though you were chanting it under the full moon.

And then as that energy releases,

Planting the seeds in this full moon,

We'll transition into the body scan.

And I want you to imagine the full moon radiant at your third eye and that point remains.

But as I call out body parts,

Imagine little stars twinkling so that we're creating our own constellation,

Our own web woven around this full moon.

So feeling that full moon in your third eye.

And then imagine starlight moving from your third eye to your heart.

And feel your heart glowing with starlight twinkling under the full moon.

And then that thread of starlight moves to your right temple.

Little star burst at the right temple.

And then back to the heart.

And then a thread of starlight moves to your right facial cheek.

And then back to your heart.

A star extends into your right shoulder.

And back to your heart.

A star in the right side of your ribs.

Back to the star in your heart.

A star in your right thigh.

And back to your heart.

A star streams out into your right ankle.

And then weaves back to the heart.

Feeling the right side of the body lit up with stars that radiate from the heart.

Illuminated by the full moon.

And then feel another star activate in your left ankle before weaving to the heart.

And then to the left thigh.

And back to your heart.

A star lights up the left ribs.

And back to the heart.

A star in your left shoulder.

And back to your heart.

A star in your left facial cheek.

Back to the heart.

Star in your left temple.

Back to your heart.

And back to your left thigh.

And back to your heart.

And then a star moves straight up from the heart through the throat to the midbrain at the height of the ears.

This star lights up the pineal and pituitary glands,

Inviting them to activate.

And then the star draws back to your heart.

And the whole left side is illuminated by starlight.

Starlight that radiates from your heart all the way to the left side.

All sparkling,

Twinkling under the full moon.

So you feel and see and sense the full moon in your third eye.

And then this web of stars that moves from your right temple,

Right facial cheek,

Right shoulder,

Right ribs,

Right thigh,

Right ankle,

Left ankle,

Left thigh,

Left ribs,

Left shoulder,

Left cheek,

Left temple,

And then to the midbrain.

The whole body illuminated by these stars that radiate out through the whole body,

Shimmering through your hands and your feet,

Your arms and your legs.

Your whole body lit up by this internal constellation of stars,

All twinkling under the full moon.

And for a moment,

Just allow your body wholeness,

Your body whole under this sparkling internal night sky,

Stars under the full moon.

And as you allow yourself to receive all of this starlight and moonlight,

The body drops deeper into relaxation.

The body is whole,

The body is illuminated by the full moon and the stars,

All continuing to send that celestial blessing through the body,

Through the physical body,

Aligning sky and earth under the full moon,

Your body a conduit between the stars and the earth.

And as the body rests deeper in its constellation,

Again,

Feel the full moon in the third eye.

And notice your breath as it rises and falls,

Pulsing through the stars,

Through the full moon.

And as you inhale,

Imagine breathing up your spine to the third eye where the full moon is,

And then exhaling down your spine.

So moving that earth energy of the body up the spine to the third eye where the full moon rests,

And then bringing it back down.

And just stay with this for a few moments,

Inhaling from the base of the spine to the third eye to the full moon,

And then exhaling it down.

So just moving this earth and moon energy up the central channel,

Activating more and more at the master glands,

This full moon energy,

Breathing up the spine to the third eye,

Breathing down the spine back into the earth.

And now continuing to keep that full moon at the third eye,

As you inhale,

Imagine you're breathing up the left side of the body,

And then holding,

Pausing at that full moon point,

And then exhaling down the right side of the body.

So as you inhale,

You can feel yourself breathing up the left foot and leg,

Torso,

And back,

Leg,

Torso,

Arm,

Temple,

And then holding at the full moon point,

And then exhaling through the right side of the face and neck and arm and ribs all the way down through the leg and foot.

And then just stay with this,

Breathing up the left side,

Holding at the third eye,

Seeing the full moon,

Exhaling down the right side.

This is the lunar breath,

The Chandra breath.

Inhaling up the left,

Holding at the third eye,

Exhaling down the right.

And just continue to stay with this a little longer,

Inhaling up the left side,

Hold at the third eye,

Exhaling down the right.

This lunar breath,

Activating the pranamaya kosha,

The energy body with this breath.

And then letting go of breathing up left and down right,

And again,

Just return to the central channel.

Inhaling,

Breathing up into the third eye,

Exhaling down the spine,

Integrating earth and moon energy.

And the breath will continue to flow up and down the spine,

The body still shimmering with starlight and moonlight.

And as you feel your body whole and healing under this full moon,

The breath helping to clear out these pathways and channels,

Allow yourself to surrender to a sense of heaviness.

Really give yourself to the earth like stone,

Like lead,

Like deep roots,

Feel the whole body becoming so heavy,

Just surrender to the heaviness,

The denseness of earth,

The whole body heavy,

Heavy with earth,

Every part of you.

And then feel a drawing up towards the cosmos becoming light,

Light all the way as though you could levitate from the earth free of a gravitational pull,

As though you could be drawn right to that full moon.

Feel yourself so light that you could float up into the sky to the full moon.

You are completely light and luminous,

Floating,

The whole body,

Your whole being effortlessly light.

And then you become heavy again as though you are rooting,

Anchoring into lead,

Into stone,

Into bone,

Heavy,

Heavy,

Heavy down as though you're being pulled into the center of the earth,

Deep down into the earth.

Before you are again drawn up so light,

Every part of you magnetizing towards the full moon,

So light and luminous and bright.

And then can you be both?

Can you allow a heaviness,

A groundedness,

A rootedness while still being able to rise,

To vibrate,

To pulse towards the moon?

Allow your emotional and mental bodies to recalibrate to this push and pull,

Wanting to draw to the earth,

Wanting to rise to the moon.

Can you allow yourself to integrate both heaviness and lightness,

Both earth and moon,

Clearing the emotional and mental debris that moves us into states of depression or anxiety,

Allowing ourself this balance,

This groundedness of earth and moon,

Heavy and light.

Feel the parts of you that want to be heavy and grounded and the parts of you that are ready to be light and illuminated.

And as you feel this balance,

You allow yourself to be grounded and you allow the heaviness to take on the qualities of darkness,

Of night sky,

And the lightness to take on the qualities of light,

Of illumination.

And you again see yourself as this constellation,

Able to be rooted into the earth,

Spread across the darkness,

And yet all these little parts of you,

Light and illuminated,

Sparkling.

And as you allow yourself to be in perfect balance and integration between heavy and light,

Darkness and illumination,

As you are both the earth and your own constellation,

Bring your attention back to the third eye,

Bring your attention back to the full moon.

And you are resting in awareness,

In spacious awareness,

Held by the earth,

Graced by the stars.

And it's not even clear if you're watching the stars,

If you're floating in the stars,

But you are held in balance,

In union,

In integration.

And as you focus your attention on the third eye while you allow this integration of polar opposites,

Of polarization,

Continue to watch the full moon as the stars flicker,

As the light and dark dances and pulses,

As the denseness and the lightness merge,

Keep your focus on the full moon.

And the lunar eclipse creates a light show across the face of the moon,

As the sun appears to cover the moon.

And so as you allow yourself to watch the moon,

The moon will begin to change shape and color,

And there's nothing to do but receive it,

Observe it,

Allow your whole being to take in the color and shape.

You observe the full moon,

A radiant golden silver,

Radiant shimmering white,

And shimmering white.

And then suddenly the whole moon becomes red.

The whole moon becomes red.

And the little crescent of the moon begins to turn orange.

The moon red with a little crescent of orange.

And then slowly the orange spreads across the moon,

And the whole moon is a rich orange.

And then from the other side,

A little crescent begins to turn gold,

A golden fiery yellow,

Most of the moon is orange,

This little crescent from the other side,

A fiery yellow.

And then the fiery yellow slides across the moon,

And for a moment the whole moon is yellow,

Fiery yellow.

And as you receive the fiery yellow,

Again from the other side of the moon,

You see a little crescent of yellow,

The other side of the moon,

A little sliver begins to be carved out in emerald green.

And you hold your vision of the moon,

Mostly yellow,

This little sliver of green.

And then slowly the green moves across the whole moon,

The full moon is emerald green,

Receiving this emerald green.

From the other side,

A little crescent sliver turns sky blue,

Holding your eyes,

Your inner vision,

At the full moon that is emerald green with a sliver of sky blue.

And then slowly,

Slowly across the moon,

The whole moon,

The full moon,

Sky blue,

Radiating down sky blue.

And from the other side,

A little crescent becomes a dark indigo blue,

Like the night sky is beginning to cover the moon.

And you hold this image of a sky blue moon with a little sliver of dark blue,

Before the dark blue slowly moves across the moon.

And the moon is the same color as the night sky,

The outline of the dark moon,

Where it's just a circle,

No light,

Just the dark night sky and the sphere of the moon.

And as you meditate on the night sky with the circle of the moon,

From the corner,

You begin to see a crescent of violet,

Beautiful violet light,

This little crescent with this dark night sphere.

And then slowly that violet crescent spreads across the moon and the full moon is purple violet radiating down.

And then from the other side,

This little crescent of white,

Holding the moon purple with a little crescent of white.

And then the white begins to spread,

Covering half of the moon.

So the moon is now half purple,

Half white,

Half purple,

Half white.

And then the white slides across the moon.

And again,

The moon is full and white and sparkling and shimmering,

The full moon shining down.

And as you feel the full moon,

It suddenly has all the colors of the rainbow from one side spreading across the full moon,

This perfect round sphere in white and violet,

Indigo,

Blue,

Green,

Yellow,

Orange,

Red,

The rainbow spreading across the moon,

The moon like a kaleidoscope,

All the different faces of the eclipse and all the colors of the rainbow,

Restoring and recalibrating your energy body.

And as you hold this image of the rainbow moon,

The rainbow eclipse,

The rainbow full moon,

All the stars,

All the constellations of your body lift up and move towards the moon.

And they all float towards the moon.

And for a moment,

You hold this perfect image of a rainbow moon in a sky full of stars,

Stars that are connected to you and your spirit body.

And you allow yourself to surrender to the earth,

The stars and the rainbow moon above.

And you receive whatever is needed and you release whatever is needed and as you allow yourself to rest on the earth under the stars and the full moon,

You begin to hear the sound of your intention from the beginning of practice.

Maybe you worked with your own language,

Maybe another comes forward,

Maybe you again hear,

I am whole,

I am healed,

I open to the fullness of the moon,

I am whole,

I am healed,

I open to the fullness of the moon.

And all the sparkling lights and all the colors begin to swirl and they pull together and begin to swirl and they pour down over you like nectar from the moon,

From your crown,

Your third eye,

Your throat,

Your heart,

Your solar plexus,

Your belly,

All the way down to your feet,

Sealing in this full moon meditation.

All the colors,

All the lights swirling in,

Sealing in this full moon meditation until you again are resting on the earth in your space.

And the practice of yoga nidra to meditate on the full moon is now complete.

And the practice of yoga nidra to meditate on the full moon is now complete.
