Welcome to your weekly 5 minute meditation.
Find a comfortable position,
Seated,
Lying down,
Or whatever feels most restful right now.
Let your body fully settle into the surface beneath you,
Let your weight drop,
Your body be held.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and release it out with a sigh,
Do that again if it feels good,
Let it be natural.
Begin to notice where you might be holding on,
Maybe in the jaw,
The shoulders,
Your hands.
You don't need to fix anything,
Just notice and see if you can soften even just a little more.
Bring your attention to your breath now,
You don't need to control it,
Just let it flow.
Notice the steady rhythm,
The breath moving in and out,
Let your inhale feel like it's creating space through the body,
Let your exhale gently release anything extra,
Tension,
Overthinking,
Effort.
You might notice resistance,
Mental or physical,
And that's okay,
Just ask yourself,
Can I soften here,
Even 5% is enough.
There's no rush,
No right way to be here.
Just you and your breath,
The quiet rhythm of now.
Picture each inhale filling you with ease,
And with each exhale imagine letting go of anything that feels heavy or tight.
Notice the coolness of air as it enters through your nose,
And the warmth as it leaves.
Feel your belly gently rise and fall,
The ribs expanding and softening with each breath.
Let your body settle deeper into stillness,
There's nowhere to go,
Nothing to strive for,
Let this be simple.
Thoughts come up,
Gently come back to your breath,
There's no need to chase calm,
It's already here.
Start to feel the weight of your body resting into the floor,
Chair or your bed,
And let yourself be held,
Let the ground do the work.
This moment is enough.
You've just spent a few minutes exploring ease,
How softness doesn't mean weakness,
And how sometimes the way forward isn't about pushing harder,
But letting go of what you don't need.
If it feels good to soften just a little more,
Your jaw,
Your shoulders,
Your hands,
Breathe in ease,
And breathe out resistance.
Thank you for joining me in this 5 minute meditation,
And remember life is a balance of holding on and letting go.
Namaste.
