This meditation is about reconnecting to the flame of peace and light in your heart. Deep in your heart, you were never alone. The flame in your heart is the part of you that intimately knows it’s a connectedness to all things... A peaceful and connected world is a joint effort. A combined aspiration of the heart. For more background and context for this meditation, please listen to my previous talk – To Know Peace In Your Heart Is To Be A Peacekeeper.

This meditation is a journey into your heart.

During this meditation I'm going to ask you to use your imagination.

But more than just imagine,

I want you to feel it.

Feel how the images speak to your heart.

Feel the images from your heart.

Sitting comfortably and closing your eyes.

Starting to take your awareness down out of your head and into your heart.

Into this mysterious energetic heart center in the center of your chest.

You're in a dark room.

It's so dark you can't see anything.

You light a single candle.

It brings some light into the room.

Still dark but now you can see.

Feeling the candle flame from your heart.

You light another candle.

It brings a little more light into the room.

You light another candle and another.

You continue lighting candles all around the room.

And each candle brings a little more light into the room.

You're now standing in the room full of light.

Feel your heart respond to the warmth and presence of the light.

Feel how this combined candle light speaks to your heart.

Feel how it touches your heart.

And as you stand there bathed in light you could never separate this light.

Each candle anchors some light into the room.

But this light that fills the room is one.

And just like candles anchoring light into a dark room,

You anchor peace and light into the world through your heart.

And just like the room full of candles,

You're not alone.

This peace and light we anchor together is one.

There are many of us anchoring peace and light into the world through our heart.

But this peace and light we anchor together is one.

Feeling this in your heart.

Feeling this through your heart.

You're part of something much greater than yourself.

Deep in your heart you know this.

You feel this.

A peaceful and connected world is a joint effort.

A combined aspiration of the heart.

The world needs you to shine your heart.

Not everyone shines bright all the time.

But just like this room full of candles combining their light,

Together we shine bright.

This peace and light we anchor together is one.

You're not alone.

Feeling your heart respond.

And we'll very gently start to make our way back.

Feeling your body sitting in the room,

Taking a deep breath.

This gentle anchoring into your heart for the world.

Starting to move fingers and toes.

Arms and legs.

Feeling your body.

Noticing the effect of the meditation.

Noticing how you feel different to when you started the practice.

And before you open your eyes,

Remember this.

You're not alone.

A peaceful and connected world is a joint effort.

A combined aspiration of the heart.

And when you're ready,

Gently opening your eyes and coming back.

This meditation is an expression of the vision and the inspiration behind the Peacekeeper Project.

Thank you for taking part.
