In this meditation, you will learn the lotus visualisation technique for sleep. By drawing the picture of this track physically and metaphorically, you will go into the body and out of the mind in order to fall asleep. Further suggestions: 1) If your thoughts and feelings don't let you sleep, please listen to the meditation 'how to feel your feelings' and attempt this practice again afterwards; 2) For correct breathing and relaxation during sleep, you can experiment with mouth taping.

Meditation for sleep,

Lotus Visualization Before we begin the actual visualization,

Please have a look at the description of this track for further suggestions.

Also,

I want to emphasize that the most important part of falling asleep is to know that our true self,

Awareness itself,

Remains aware,

Remains present,

Even in deep sleep.

Deep sleep is not the absence of awareness,

But rather the absence of objective experience,

The absence of thoughts,

Of feelings,

Of a body,

Of a world.

Knowing this deeply will help you relax the idea of needing to sleep,

To let go of its importance a bit more,

Which would as a result help you to fall asleep.

Now let's begin.

The way this visualization works is that we create a bridge between waking life and the dream state.

Sleeping is falling from the conscious mind into the realm of the unconscious,

Into the realm of the body.

As such,

We will focus on the throat,

To go into the body and out of the mind in order to fall asleep.

First,

Take a pen and a pencil and draw the shape,

That is the image of this meditation,

A few times on a piece of paper.

Draw it slowly,

Focus carefully on the shape of the petals of the lotus and draw it all at once without pausing,

Just keep moving your hand.

The reason to do this is to already begin to get into the body,

To let go of the mind and see what it feels like to draw this shape in particular.

When you feel ready you can get into bed and use your hand as a pencil and draw the shape in the space in front of you.

By doing this we are once more letting go of being in the mind,

Going into the body and also letting go of the world of form.

Your hand is now your pencil,

Your paper is space.

After you have done this a few times,

You can close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

Focus on your throat as you do so.

Now moving one step deeper into sleep.

Your pencil is your imagination,

Your paper is your throat.

You will draw the lotus around your throat,

Vertically as you are lying down and the center of your throat will be the center of the flower.

Start by drawing the first petal very slowly.

Once again here you use your imagination without stopping,

Just keep drawing,

Keep forming that first petal.

And slowly moving into the second one.

And as you continue drawing you will see your mind beginning to dream.

Without realizing it you will be asleep,

Without even finishing the drawing.

Thank you for listening,

I wish you a good night.
