Welcome.
We are going to do something a little different today to keep you on your toes.
As you close your eyes and adjust to the blackness behind your lids,
Picture with me the dance
floor.
There are bright stage lights illuminating the shiny wooden planks that make up the floor.
The audience is hushed,
But buzzing.
Blowing in from stage right and your left is the feminine.
Pushing purposely to center stage from your right is the masculine.
They are the yin and the yang.
The feminine is moving with intuition and openness.
The masculine is logically directing the steps they take.
They are a swirling,
Sensational display of light and consciousness,
Of attraction and
assertion,
Of process and outcome.
The routine is a perfect mixture of sustainability and peak experience.
The dance is one of love and freedom.
The entire audience rises to their feet in an eruption of applause as each member recognizes
the inner masculine and feminine in themselves.
As you sit and soak in the performance,
The people fade away.
The dance is now just a memory,
A memory of the physical representation of polarity.
Polarity is the phenomenon of all natural forces flowing between two poles,
The north
and south poles of the earth,
The positive and negative poles of an electrical outlet.
Polarity shows up in humans through masculinity and femininity.
All of us possess both inner masculine and feminine qualities.
Women can be assertive,
Men can hug each other tenderly,
It isn't about gender or sex.
The feminine exists within all things and people.
As I talk about the importance of the feminine,
I also see the importance of the masculine
and the men who are the great protectors,
Supporters and lovers of the divine feminine
and our work in the world.
The masculine principle has come to define value in the world today.
We choose logic over intuition,
Outcomes over process,
And peak experience over sustainability.
Many of us have learned to deny our femininity in order to fit into a world built around
this logic.
Engaging our masculinity without a deeper experience of femininity to help shape and
influence the masculine direction and forceful pushing can lead us to expending a lot of
energy and not really getting anywhere.
Imagine the feminine as the in-breath,
The internal tide of intuition and inspiration
that enlivens the out-breath,
Or masculine form.
When balanced,
The feminine and masculine result in creative abundance and wellness.
Masculinity without femininity can become controlling,
Pushing,
And ruthless.
Femininity without masculinity can flounder in process and lose direction.
When balanced in harmony,
The two forces complement,
Strengthen,
And enable one another.
It's your turn to take the stage.
Are you walking to the stage purposefully,
In a straight line,
Like you have a job to do?
Are you swinging your hips and moving your arms to the sound of the song?
Are you reluctant or excited?
You don't actually need to know how to dance,
Just take the stage and practice playing both parts.
Be in your masculine,
Assertive,
Directive,
Conscious.
Maybe the movements are sharp,
Planned,
And purposeful.
Transition to your feminine,
Receptive,
Flowing,
Light,
Without a plan,
Open to whatever happens,
Letting the music move through you.
That was beautiful.
How was it for you?
Was it weird?
Or did you feel at home on an imaginary dance floor playing with polarity?
Which one felt more natural to you?
Both?
Neither?
There isn't a right or wrong answer,
We're just exploring,
Together,
The internal dance of the divine feminine masculine.
Go ahead and open your eyes.
Begin to pay attention to which posture you bring into every movement.
Be intentional with your masculinity and femininity.
Both can be incredible and rewarding.
Until next time,
Dev.
