Breathe deep and let go.
And fall in,
Fall into you.
Into the centre core of your very self.
Yourself being the truth of you.
The you who is free.
The you who is gentle and soft and kind.
Breathe deep and find that space.
Go deeper if you need to.
With a gentle calling of your inner truth.
The part of you that lets go when things are tight.
The part of you that puts things down when your world feels heavy.
And the part of you that lifts you up in times of need.
Perhaps you can imagine a light,
Lilac in colour.
Floating above the top of your head.
And breathe it into your crown.
Through the very centre core of you.
Past your throat.
Into your chest.
And down into your heart.
Now with each beat of your beautiful heart.
Feel that lilac light being pumped around your entire body.
Through your bloodstream.
Reaching further and further around.
Reaching to the very tips of your fingers and the tips of your toes.
Now find the pace of breathing that you enjoy.
It could be deep full breaths or it could be gentle and light.
Joy.
That wonderful feeling of joy.
Joy meaning of great pleasure,
Of great happiness.
And sometimes it can feel hard to find joy.
And we can experience the block.
There we can feel disconnected especially when everyone else seems to be finding their own joy.
But it's okay and your time will come.
Sometimes we need to simply fall inward.
To stop the external noise and listen.
To what we want and to hear what we need.
So that we can open up to our very own joy.
Perhaps joy comes to you in a glimmer of a fleeting moment.
Perhaps it lasts longer.
Either way when that moment arises,
Sit in it.
Feel it.
Soak it up like a sponge.
Connect with it if you can like a lifelong friend.
And if you can't at that moment find it,
It's okay.
There will always be next time to try again.
And we can always try again.
What is it that brings you joy?
And how does joy step into your life?
Is it a person?
Is it time alone?
Is it a hot cup of coffee on a chilly autumn morning?
Is it a view out of your room or one that finds you on a walk and takes your breath away?
Is it the warmth of the sun?
Is it the smell of the rain after a warm summer season?
It doesn't have to be big.
It just has to matter.
As in a world where expectations of success are great and pressuring,
In the end it's the small things.
The things that happen sometimes each day that count and that bring us joy.
But sometimes we forget to look and appreciate them.
It could be the first kiss in the morning or the last one at night.
It could be watching the clouds change form.
Watching the wind change direction.
It could be the perfect outfit or a day in your pajamas.
It could be a filling breakfast or a gusto supper.
The first snowdrop flowering in spring.
Or it could simply be a shared smile with a stranger or the hold of a hand by a loved one.
The little moments of small joys count together.
They make it big.
They make it last.
So what are your joys?
Where can you find them?
Start to notice the precious little joys that can crop up each day and allow them to become something so much more to you.
And when you feel those moments,
Love them hard and love them well.
Then you will feel that this is joy.
And it feels good.
When joy comes home.
Namaste.
